Pan blades wave flourish build, going for kings tide arterial spray and Apollo legendary
Is Dancing Knives or Melting Sickle better?
If you’ve got Hordes on or have trouble with room clear generally Dancing is nice. If you have trouble with armor, minibosses, or are just on the surface I’d consider Melting
Tap special delete mega dragon armor feels good
whos the best god for momus
hera
Hera, Zeus, Ares, Demeter, Hephaestus (for his cast), and honorable mention for Hermes' Winner's Circle
but tbh all the gods except heph and hestia can work
What's the best regen for momus?
Born Gain is the best regen boon
hestia zeus aphro hera they all work
Unseen is good, any gain is good
Roughly how much magick do you need for born gain to not just Hurt/run out real fast on a mana hungry build?
150-200 seems good
what's a fun selene build?
I tried the blitz on the attack with the hex but i dunno, it didnt click. maybe I am missing something
Waves on Attack with Ferocity isn't bad
just extra Waves ticks during Sky Fall while you already dash attack around
but that's same way you play mel coat, right? wave attack with static shock and master conductor (if you get it). it's a good build, I played it repeatedly but does selene have any unique builds?
Controlled Burn or Fine Line is nice to have so your Hex comes back sooner off of Omega Spec spam since it comes back quicker
if you want Ferocity, Apollo and Aphro are bugged and do nothing for it, damage doesn't increase
okay i will try the omega spec spam with controlled burn and wound maybe. never really played the hestia ares duo all that much
thank you :3
never tried Fourth Degree on it yet,h m
Thank you and mynt
Been shredding with it
Do watch his video below the comment to get an idea, he also has different arcana cards. Thought about it today too, now I noticed he had diff ones and I agree. I'd have to try but I think it's just better
Now I'm onto charons axe and I need to figure that one out 🤣. But probably demeter cast or aphro, Apollo would be great too I guess...
Actually ares, poseidon probably slap too... Hera idk...
Hera special would slap? Anyone has some input?
Yeah that sounds good
Charon you can do a lot with because the weapon is very high damage
So mostly you just want to focus on mana hp and speed
then take like one or two things that synergize with what you are doing
it's mix and match as long as you have Apollo on Gain and you force Poseidon later on for Geyser Spout once you have a Cast
Hera on Special and Dem on Cast is super reliable, so feel free to just use that
For Charon I like Zeus>hera>ares>Apollo on the special. Not sure what other people like the most
I also find that -origination +Unseen is really good for your mana for the first two biomes of both regions and I never end up missing 50% damage on Charon
tbh just run Origination and try to meet that asap and you're kinda chilling, Geyser Spout isn't 100% needed but it's still just really good
why run Unseen if you get Lucid Gain asap anyway? I don't even run Hecuba anymore if I have onion off since it's infinite MP
just room 1 unlimited MP
Well if you run Unseen you don't get Lucid Gain right away obviously
Just a diff way you can approach the weapon
k
I know you like trying to break the mold a lot, so I'm not going to further comment
What I hate about lucid gain tbh is the 6 agonizing seconds you have to wait for the cast to expire if you miss the cast or had to move
yeah, that's fair. I made that mistake a few times in my run
I sometimes take winners circle because it makes less painful
surely not on Charon
a good tip is to just regenerate in a safe spot, you don't necessarily have to put the cast on the enemy for damage all the time, just plant it at your feet, far from enemies, then Omega Special at them
I don’t take it more than common and 3s is still plenty of time for the cast imo
kind of a wasted Hermes pickup sometimes when you can get Racing Thoughts, Money, Nitro Boost, etc. I recommend just grabbing something else
What in your mind is the benefit of taking Winner's Circle on Charon? I could gain some insight here
a thing I still forget to do on Charon is to just restore my MP when there are no enemies around
What they said, if they mess up lucid gain it's less painful to get magick back
margin for error in essence, which I understand
Most of my deaths with Charon involves running out of magick and putting the cast in a spot that I have to stay close by defenseless for 6seconds.
It is not good if you play optimally ofc but mistakes happen
Interesting. Have you thought about taking a different gain, then, instead? Nova Flourish is still pretty crazy on Charon tbh
Born and Mortal aren't bad on it ye
I mean the solution is to just run lucid gain and not screw up
Why do you get some sort of reward for winning the run with Lucid
hat’s true. But I also gained a lot of respect for mortal gain in general.
Yeah just practicing with lucid is a better idea than settling for other gains imo
Lucid Gain is so good because it isn't heavily resource reliant, but execution reliant. The other 2 need resources, Born more so than Mortal
You get the reward of lucid gain being objectively the best gain on Charon 🔥
you can get Lucid and just call it a day, MP-wise, as long as your max MP is enough to support 1 or 2 Omega Specs
Now that you can just put 100 mana on your build between biomes I don't even think Lucid is better than Born on Charon really
then put something else on instead
At the cost of a keepsake sure
I think Lucid is better lol
I think lucid is practically made for Charon plays tbh. It is a skill issue on my part
Not everyone that starts Born Gain or Mortal Gain will know to handle their MP pool for extended locations like ships and fields rooms
I'd rather the gain that instantly solves my magick problem than having to run an extra keepsake to make born super good.
Mind you born is good, especially with Hecuba, I just think Lucid is better
Yeah, just like not everyone that plays Lucid will be able to use the cast properly, etc etc. I think the best gain for each player sorta depends on how they like to play the aspect, like I know some people like to keep distance and ranged cast it

I mean sure
I just like to base the strength off stuff on their actual strength personally
Yeah I get you
Maybe a crazy take
Nah it's cool I think it's fun to think about optimal stuff
i wonder what the pickrate of apollo special on charon is im gonna go check
Where do we get to see that stuff
In your mind's eye
Oh, 50's interesting, I wonder how well Sword Charon does at 50
what's sword charon?
The two sword duos on the ring
You can replace your cast really fast with charon so you get lots of swords
aaaah
I think it probably has a path to 50 UW, Surface seems a bit hard
Wards is not great for it but not impossible
not many charon clears so heres from olympic patch https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1249502882819215453/1350668478431887563/image.png?ex=67d7938b&is=67d6420b&hm=43115261cbb0f0acde1a443e6b8858257b5c823319f2d8b69e5960057ac86778&
i just moved the olympic patch misc stats to the resources sheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1mD3_B1UgVrVTnQtYkqG0bZBmDATxh2YwwZCuqbMa9ks/edit?usp=sharing
Hera's always just reliable for it
the disparity in the Cast section is hilariously telling though
is zeus actually good for this it feels weird to put flat dmg on ospecial
It pops right away right
props to that one fellow who used glamour gain charon 😭
based
Maybe he misclicked and made it work
its not the worst
Although you'd probably reset before that
the Blitz get the Orig bonus before it pops, but there are better things yeah
it was a 53F clear, so a lot more understandable
Such as?
Nova and sworn?
Why would ares be good?
If you get Grievous you can crit, if you run origination it procs it
Hera, Dem and Ares aren't bad choices, though I only get Dem if I don't have Arctic Ring
feels like ares is justifiable on basically every build tbh
he is a regular god with multiplicative scaling boons
which is a super desirable trait that is hard to get
His duos are strong too like holy hell
lmfaooooo the full 50 fear archive has hit 5 gb of storage now
With the Axe, each hit of the special counts as its own individual strike?
they're three hits iirc yeah
Same with the blades third attack
so 3 triggers of "oh hit" effects like the zeus prime thing
yes
Yes, also the Melting special hammer says "35%" but it hits 3 times so it essentially deletes armor
though unfortunately the axe special is generally worse than attack, so its mostly used as a supplemental button
(obviously not including charon, which is omega-special focused)
oh nice, wait that means that any power increase like hestia's infusion would make the axe do the funny?
It could yeah if you wanted to go in that direction
It doesn't have support from the aspects but you could try it
its just unfortunate since both mel and thanatos axe have specific support for attack
and charon is its own weirdo playstyle
Something like support fire static shock and hera special could work
i just like to cycle trough regular attacks and specials, feels more responsive than chaining regular attacks
usually special on axe is used to apply status or to cancel the big bonk
guess i could get Demeter's special so i could do 1-2-special-3 to confirm the big bonk
so instead of swing, swing, big bonk, if its too unsafe to do that you can do swing, swing, special
and then the next attack will be a swing instead of the big bonk because you interrupted the combo with special
just realized that i have been using the Axe wrong
im supposed to use it like a Dead Cells Green weapon
this doesnt work because after you special, the next basic attack will be the first swing again in the combo
im literally on a run doing this
Yeah combos like this you can play around with
wait does special not break the attack combo?
i thought it did...
maybe if you mash attack fast enough then the big bonk will still come out, idk
TRUE DEAD CELLS
im using the axe like the tombstone from dead cells, now it makes so much sense
if I make the cast expire faster trough Hermes boon, do i lose on activations of effects like hephastus cast?
becasue description says "activates 3 times", but stats says "each 1 second"
on some casts it makes activation effects faster (works for heph), for others it cuts them down (zeus, hestia)
winner circle + anvil ring is a very strong combo
oh, just got both on epic rarity, run is looking good
new main attack adquired i guess
IIRC ya can get off attack attack special chop but it’s tight.
Might have to buffer the attack while the special is going, I haven’t Mel axed in a bit.
apparently you can do some very stupid stuff between axe swings, you can even do both the cast and special mid swing
that looks like one nasty way of getting the extra damage from the origin arcana
timing is tight tough
it's been so long since I last got Thirst on the Axe that I forgot how to use it
my first non-Typhon loss in like, 5 nights
for some reason I get assigned either the Coat or the Skulls like 80% of the time
yeah it has a very different playstyle compared to every other weapon
and if you have frenzy 2 on the axe becomes very fun to effectively use such that you don't die to packed chambers
just did a 50f surface Persephone run and actually using the aspect
Lightning Lance is just really important on that thing, since it counts as Cast damage
your meter fills up that much quicker just by having it
i don't get the point of persephone
if you want to omega special spam then you could do that with medea and also get in a little attack damage at the same time
I'll upload the run
It actually makes sense when it gets going, but otherwise it feels bad
it has extended invulnerability and benefits from cast builds
no like I'm sure there's viable ways to use it, but it requires so much set up that it makes more sense to use anything else
I agree, yeah. I did use it just so I can see if I can upstairs though
i cant even get a normal 16 f clear on persephone 😦
i cant even imagine doing it on the surface
Arctic Ring start + Lightning Lance helps it a ton ngl
what about clang gang
it's good, but I 100% needed Arctic Ring for 50f or the enemies just ran me through
but then i would probably never use the o special at all
persephone loves geyser spout and winner circle. you feel the meter in one o cast thatt way. I havent tried lightning lance because i hate aiming boons on the controller
I play on controller, ngl lightning lance isn't that bad
common geyser spout?
I'll upload the run hold on
what's the required rarity to fill it in one o cast
do you have any 16f surface circe runs, cause I've also been finding that aspect very weird and tough to use properly
from what I remember the glory meter or whatever it is called now gets fully filled if you deal 1600 dmg with the cast. at rare rarity geyser spout with local climate deal over 1k
I mean I have a 50f one if that still works for you lol
if it works there, it'll work in anything under
but tbh if you can't get Circe working, just play it with static shock and hera attack with zeus special lol
go play manaless, it's still really strong
I've never tried that
ok then so just normal spam
My Mel Staff run is like that if you wanna see how it goes, but basically yeah
Blitz on Attack with Wound on Special https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhF31y083LE

also features Clang Gang
I didn't utilize the actual aspect's bonuses last time I played a 50F Persephone surface run, it was Possessed Array shenanigans. So this is for the ones asked for it, actual Omega Special + Cast Persephone.
It's unpopular but I like Glorious Disaster on Persephone, very satisfying to watch and pretty easy to play.
would aphro attack work better
for Pers ?
get an Epic or Heroic rarity Apollo Attack and find Dem for Weed Killer and you can just play that
all it took was a heroic lightning lance and heroic arctic ring 💀
Does the huntress activate if you have magick primed, or you do still need to use some to activate it?
You need to use some to activate it
but for some things such as uncanncy fort primed magick doesnt reduce how it calculates out your HP increase but most effects that have a "less than max magick" clause treat your max as the reduced amount after priming
Is there a specific subreddit for hades 2 builds and such
i really don't use reddit much and a few searches of hades 2 builds in google didnt yield much
Any big guide writers are kinda holding off because ya gotta rewrite everything each major patch
(I speak from experience here)
say zeus is good on momus staff right?
more so just looking for a more organized way to discuss and look at current discussions of builds for the most recent patches. I like the discord but scrolling through hundreds of messages and sometimes multiple discussions at the same time is a bit annoying sometimes lol
yes
I hear ya. Unfortunately here is just kinda where the conversation is atm
ah, fair enough like i said don't use reddit much but out of all the places i figured my best chance to find a more dedicated place for discussions on builds might have been there thanks anyways
Not really a discussion place but I am halfway through my build sheet here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vSm2KltkfvUcVAxeqa8TE1Ix1N1u5I2bgC94rUjXs1tegyOZoeVM0H_JVuyNDEmYB5Sl-CxCTA7FLlV/pubhtml Will probably finish this today or tomorrow
hmm, dual moonshot or aetheric moonburst...
oh I have to hold longer for the powershot
just do Dual Moonshot
two Omega Specials isn't bad at all, just gotta get close though. Chargetime is fast though
frenzy 2 on the surface is kicking my ass
get Arctic Ring
Dem in general helps you in surface runs immensely
I did have arctic ring
what are you specifically dying to
my dash being bound to R1
I'm more consistent at doing the dash tech but it's really messing with my basic game sense
do an Athena start and just hope Pos is there, otherwise reroll the doors for him
that way you can get Divine Dash sooner and get punished less lol
elmao
I mean, honestly it's not the worst strat
You’ll get there
Just gotta stick with it
honestly I'm peeved that I forgot that I also did this in H1
Does God Mode make this game as easy as h1
I think god mode is a bit more modular in this game but - probably?
I think the base game is a little easier than H1 atm with the extra content being slightly harder
I have both cast and dodge on shoulder buttons. It was hard to adjust to but it really helped my game a lot.
I'm worried about the grind for materials in full release
I was watching Mysterra play H2 and he switches his control scheme on every weapon lmao
wish I could rewire my brain so easily like that
I cannot do that . My brain is fried. I would mashing buttons from my previous weapons and rage if I did that xd
I can't either, but Myst does it for every weapon in H1, where he winstreaks at like 60 Heat or something
I guess it's just a habit to switch out control schemes to suit the weapon better ?
Speaking of, do you have high heat clears for h1 mynt. Or did you get into high fear in h2?
I played H1 on the Switch when I was really into it, so not really. I do 40-45s for fun sometimes but I'm not that cracked at it
in general, is there any advantage to Priming Magick?
like are there any Boons or anything that synergize with it? "Damage increase based on how much Magick you gave Primed" or anything?
or is it just a downside to balance some of the more powerful Boons?
downside to balance magick builds from utilizing things that are too strong with no drawback
for magickless builds like Mel Axe, Mel Skull, Medea, Mel Blades, etc, they don't quite care about priming MP
The only real advantage to priming magick at this point is that you can prime over your limit.
So if I have 50 mana and I prime out 50 mana, provided I am not using my mana to deal damage, all prime effects are essentially free now
I lean on
Cast so much with every weapon and aspect that I never truly have a Magickless build 🥴
and Mel Axe I love
Attack a lot too
Then you probably don’t like priming very much I would imagine!
generally not, but if my MP is high enough I'll usually take some Prime boons for the buffs
My h1 brain gets in the way a fair bit with combat in h2 with
moves, I just finished grinding out fear testaments with mostly normals + zeus with some heph cast or king's ransom
SAME, when i first grabbed hades 2 EA on launch i had just finished my 100% of hades 1 and i still have to force myself to remember omega moves XD
i've noticed a lot of people play on controller are there techs you can't do or just easier than with MnK that make controller more attractive for so many? Because i've found especially for aiming casts that controller is just so slow and never accurate the way i want to when im running through rooms to save time on regions
It's just fully dependent on what you find comfortable, but generally the 360 degree gate of controllers makes movement better, while mouse aiming is preferable for certain weapons and effects
I still do left side of controller + mouse, but I'm more comfy with a controller nowadays
ah so the classic pros and cons that makes sense, tbh even with controller i never noticed a huge bump in my movement, I tried controller for probably like 50 hours in total out of my 300 ish on steam. It might just be a comfort thing for me then because the 360 makes sense but i just don't find myself needing that extra few degrees of angled movement you get from the stick vs just holding W and A keys for diag movement
Although i will say the default bind for the dash and sprint being shift was so confusing when i first started out because i've never played a top down rogue like where the dash is shift. Changed that setting right quick
I thought dash/sprint is space?
i'm not sure if this was just the default binding for when EA first launched because i got the game day one and changed that setting so it might be diffrent now but i have it set so that both are dash/sprint
In theory what is the minnum damage you can take. My theory is that you start with frosty veneer for a base 20 damage, tough gain for -3 or more but how are the % damage reduction calcuated? Like Hept/Hera reduces half but is that before or after demeter's fusion boon? What about Weak? or Apf/Posi fusion which is a base 15 %
you can just pom Tough Gain to a level wherein certain things do only 1 to you because it can't do 0
Do you mean in the sense of how far you can reduce an instance of damage? outside of pure resists?
yeah
So a strat would be to get tough gain and Demeter fusion and a lot of life and just tank everything. I mean you prob can't pom it up that high but it's still funny
Chronos father of the gods and the titan of time and his hits feel like a light breeze
in an actual run the highest damage reduction i ever got was (this is from memory so it might not be entirely accurate) was with aphro weak, tough gain and the duo which reduced proms damage from his enhanced punch in phase one to like 15 from 35 i think
My main question really is if % reduction claculates of the damage dealt before Demeter's fusion of after. Like if you half 30% reduction and a damage is 100 you'd take 70 but you have Demeter's fusion so you only take 20. or does it take 30% of 20
veneer is always the last step, so DR applies before
I see so it's usless to try and stack them.
yeah
well wish I knew that before I tried it a bunch 🙃
yeah "sadly" the devs learned a lot from hades 1 so those loopholes for busted builds that can actually just nullify a runs challenge are usually already thought of or un-intended and get fixed up pretty quick
you can still stack a really silly amount of DR
yeah you can but you can't just become invincible (insert title card here) which is what i meant by nullify a runs challenge sorry lol
run strength, get a high level tough gain and brave face, and look for weak + broken resolve and you take 1 damage from most attacks
with warm breeze and dodge chance stacking you can :)
i mean, can't take damage if you don't get hit ig XD
hold up this is how we make 55 fear free
but that requires having that goal in mind for the run usually and still doesnt make you entirely unkillable because dodge chances are calculated seperatly from what i know. I.E 5% chance for hotpot and say 15 from hermes or somethin it checks one dodge, if it doesnt dodge then it moves on and rolls it
just don’t get hit
dodge chance stacks additively except for daze
really? i knew daze for sure was but i thought i had heard that dodge stacking is less effective due to how the game calculates the instances of dodge chance
Are Brave Face and flat reductions calculated before or after the % do you know
after
i think the order is dodge chance -> dr -> tough gain -> brave face
also chat
if an attack only does 1 damage to you brave face spends five mana to make the attack do zero damage instead
I guess get brave face and then stand in some fire to test?
no lmao i have so much dr mel isn't taking damage from any of cerb's attacks
Hell yeah
even when "missed" doesn't show up
So what duo boons do you think suck. I'll start Hearty Appitite. 10% damage per bonus 100 life where the most you'll get is around 250-300
That one is pretty good it is not unusual to have 300+ hp and 30% global dmg is nothing to scoff at
The gold one on the other hand is
Worst boons IMO are probably like
Fire Walk
Word of Greater Girth
Slippery Slope
Soot Sprint
Tall Order
Air Quality
He asked about duo boons tho. And I don’t really hate the greater girth one. I wouldn’t put in the worst boons. I feel like there are many boons worse than that
I think relative to the other stuff you get its gotta be one of the worst
Duos uhh
The Poseidon Dem duo
slippery slope isnt that bad
there are a lot of cases where i want slippery slope more than other boons innthe game
5% additive damage as a status is pretty terrible like I know if you have origination it’s fine but I would much rather use like any two other statuses I feel
Except maybe naked wounds or scorch?
I feel like people hate it because it is Poseidon only curse and he doesn’t have other super exciting stuff like heph (the other god with the same issue) I don’t hate it but I understand why people do
I just think it doesn’t do anything which is fine because Poseidon’s other stuff like very very much does things
What I hate about it is how much it gates Poseidon duos. Feels like too much to look them behind a t2 curse boon
Is there a duo other than zeus that needs it
Hestia steam
Oh right
it scales ok with rarity
Speaking of bad duos I am not sure steam even like works properly
Epic slippery is 15% always on global dmg. Which is good . The issue is why does it start with 5% at common?
pos boosn have psychonrarity scaling in general
his cast goes from 90-270 from common to heroic
Yeah I guess the scaling is pretty good actually
Excellence gaming continues to grow in stonks
Geyser Spout rarity scaling is like 50 power or something lmao
Geyser spout double in damage too from common to heroic
I do like excellence on Momus and it did feel really good to get rare Geyser
ivew actually been looking to use this duo as apart of my testing to see how far i can push it with my "Melinoe the tank" build ive been working on where i push HP to as much as i can. I've been able to crack 1k with hearty appetite in my boon list but tbh mutual destruction from ares is just so much better because its a 200% increase for damage with its main drawback being the % chance being so low to proc it but if you have enough health that you can actually have missing its much better than appetite cuz its essentially always procing
now mutual destruction is only for weapon attacks (I think?) so if you end up getting hearty appetite its quite nice for global damage buff the main issue is that it means you need one of the demeter boons which for the "melinoe the tank" build can be annoying to get because you need boons from four different gods already to really push that max health
Yeah I have a guide going up for Hearty App and Mutual on Mel Axe I think it’s pretty fun and easy to play
Yeah its super fun but for purely just trying to get the biggest HP pool possible its just out of the way
Actually for topside i could see it working out as i think life affri cent heart spam is more effective than ashmaxing with uncanny fort and burnt offering so that would remove the need to grab hestia which you can replace with demeter to further increase water fitness infusion
might have to see if I can snag it on a topside run while i'm testing see how far I can push the duo at the same time
It's also more knockback which definitely bolsters defences also if you get it epic it's 15% which is nothing to scoff at
It works properly, it's now just very hard to see. It's pretty tiny
Personally I just don't like natural selection as a duo
Golden Rule also doesn't feel that good especially on the surface where you're probably spending every single gold you have. In the UW though I guess it's pretty easy to overload on gold
There's plenty of duos which are underwhelming (or just "cool") to bad for the investment, hope they're still on the drawing board:
- Natural Selection
- Room Temperature
- Killer Current (Electric Overload's cousin)
- Thermal Dynamics (if only the Scorch helped with popping the next Blitz)
- Seismic Hammer
- Universal Donor (basically a +20% extra move/strike speed, might as well be a regular Hermes boon)
- Glorious Disaster
- Tropical Cyclone
- Sun Worshiper
- Ecstatic Obsession
Ngl tropical cyclone can deal a lot of damage. It's just annoying to have it only on arctic gale as you need to stay inside the cast while the old local climate is now a duo
And I think Sun Worshipper got buffed? The summons attack much faster than I remembered
It's indeed nice when you necromance a good one, but the ally AI can be inefficient and the resurrected foes should follow Mel around for a better feel.
It's very frustrating when you accidentally kill the first trash-mob that gets in your way. Also not particularly useful in a good number of bosses.
So i just got instakilled by chronos even though it wasn't his attack where the stage goes red
I think it did happen to me before and i think it's when there's a golden circle, but i just don't get what I'm supposed to do
There's two Chronos instakills: one wants you to stand on the marked hour of the clock, and the second wants you to stand in the sandwiched circle between danger zones.
Yeah
Yeah you just stand where is not gold
Hmm
What is the marked hour ?
The other insta kill
the little circles around the arena are the hours on the face of a clock
the other instakill marks the safe spot quite clearly, everything red but the safe spot (the safe hour of the clock)
yes
Thanks
It will stop ruining perfectly fine runs with op damage and op life total
and as usual be careful with weapons which push you forward or backwards when you attack
(I don't like instakills as game design btw)
especially on a final boss, yeah they suck
With the vow of shadow, do the shadow servants respawn constantly ? That's what it seemed like to me
shadow spiller does
Only Tail of Typhon and Shadow Spiller have that mechanic, iirc
Shadow spiller seemed to constantly spawn armored wailers
At least there were no thorn weepers
haven't fought Uh-Oh with shadows, nor the Twins of Typhon
hate vow of shadow for the mega-dracon and the shadow spiller 😠
uh oh spawns two of the giant h1 rats without the poison
I mean if you have the DPS, yes easy-peasy, but shadow spiller can end your run with all those wailers wailing at you
Hellifish shadow
hellifish
those mini-hellifish
That means easy right
No hellifish is one of the worst minibosses lol
The hippocampus ?
at least it's enjoyable to whack the baby hellifishes
Oceanus miniboss
whenever i see hellifish i just go “alright let’s get this over with” and facetank 50 damage
I just sprint in circle back to the starting spot to avoid Hellifish's initial spin attack, then clear a few babies while avoiding the ink shot, Hellifish is also susceptible to cast
A thing that I think about on mana use weapons too is buying a hex in erebus shops because twilight curse totally owns hellfish
Not sure but I think with Demeter on cast (or maybe you don't need her) the cast could be enough to stop the Hellifish from reaching the safe patch of land.
Anyone have a few funny builds for me to try out (preferably some ares ones)?
The funniest Ares is Heinous Affront + Apollo's revenge boon, I think.
There's also Apollo/Aphrodite/Ares duos and also Demeter/Ares duo + Winner's Circle + Arctic Ring (and maybe Meat Grinder or Geyser Spout).
Yeah, I recently tried out a ares cast run + the hermes cast boon + every ares cast duo. It was absolutely crazy
whats the word on the Black Coat aspects so far? I'd think Nyx would be best, not for the Nightspawn damage, but more for the overlapping attacks for status effects maybe? It's hard to tell in combat, but in the training area I can't tell if the Nightspawn attacks are overlapping
I just did a Selene run but i kinda doubt the extra Omega dmg was doing a whole lot for me with my Special build
I'm hoping all the materials I sell(which they say no longer have a use) won't be used in future recipes at high quantities
It doesn't overlap nor spread curses
maybe I'm missing something, whats the main draw on Nyx other than some light AoE?
Exactly
Nyx really needs something
Night Arcana Combos, better room clear, and that is about it
yeesh
oki looks bad for our girl Nyx, Selene I can at least see working if you do like an O-Special build with like Apollo or smth idk
Selene works pretty well with O attack as well
as for Mel-Coat, I'm thinking maybe just status based splash/scorch effects to stack them faster??
Yes Mel Coat likes on hit effects
O Attack on coat feels a little clunky to me, but I do wanna try to build around it one day
what are you favorite axe builds?
charon is charon
Charon, Apollo's Prominence Flare, Black Fleece, watch them burn
prom flare is stinky
sometimes i like doing an aspect of melinoe run and trying to stack the heartiest appetite possible
stops you from putting down another cast and also locks you out of geyser spout
Prom Flare was better back when it was Apollo's basic Cast boon, now its stinky cus it has a pre-req
thats what Charon's detonation is for
you can’t place another cast while prom flare is firing
and geyser spout is one of charon’s best ways to scale
at common lv 1 it almost doubles your cast damage
prom flare locking you out of it is the nail in the coffin for it
did prom flare always lock out geyser spout?
it'd make sense if it did now that im remembering
yea
has anyone done a fun run where the majority of their damage comes from stabbing rush?
i feel like it has the most potential out of any of the dash boons with it having 2 duos and also rallying cry potentially
It's okayish but last time I tried it the cutting edge duo bugged with coffin nail, it only hits once while it should've hit twice
aww
The strongest dash only build is probably just firewalk with some easy origination source from sprinting
Probably something like firewalk, dem sprint, tropical cyclone, glamour gain, and beach ball too ig
Firewalk damage is pretty big no joke
It just requires you to do nothing but sprinting which is why it's not good lol
I have just had runs where I took stabbing rush, usually to turn on Arterial Spray or Fourth Degree, and I was pretty happy with it
dem sprint is underrated i think. by me lol
i had it on typhon and it really does grind most of the bullets to a halt
Yes the projectile slow is great
although maybe i was stacking it with hard target now that i think about it
it also helps if you're bad at running away from the sheep ball lol
I think frigid sprint is part of a way to beat 50f with Air Quality but that’s all theorycraft so far
it's kind of weird that the doom knives aren't a curse in this game but it makes sense with the implementation
that leaves demeter as the only god with two curses
Yes
Isn't Aphro's charm technically one?
i was thinking about that but then i remembered it isn't even aphro's charm specifically
because you can only get it with a duo
it just "is charm." and also idk if it counts for orig
if you think about it it's kind of more hera's curse because she has two boons that inflict it (although one is only posthumously)
are those charmed? i don't actually remember if they're charmed or a separate thing
Sun Worshipper is more of a summon similar to Night Bloom
Because the enemy is already dead and summoned back to life
question: what hammers should I be prioritizing on staff?
ive mostly just been picking the ones that buff attack, but I'm wondering if there were particular hammers that were considered the best/if im missing out by ignoring special
Depends on your build
But mirrored thrasher is probably always the best DPS wise if you have the magick for it
Totally depends
Like I pretty regularly take Vampiric on staff because I play with scars 3 on all the time
I do still feel that the special on staff is not meant to be built around but could be wrong
yeah i just tested it and charm does not count for origination. which, like, fair
yeah that was my conclusion after coming back to the game
EA1 special was by far the best way to play
and then I come back and start playing the game again and the special feels terrible as primary dps
so I switched to mostly using attacks and taking the attack hammers
i love putting hephy on the staff special specifically because i think it's the least helpful move out of almost all of the weapons
I have felt that mirrored thrasher was great, but other than that are there any standout hammers or is it just "take whatever"
yeah i just keep an eye out for the attack hammers on the staff because most of them are pretty good
why on earth is rapid thrasher incompatible with weed killer
its a good dps addition to the moveset
adding blitz or wounds on special is absolutely worth
The faster attacks hammer is fun with mel staff, insta channel omega attack is great
you inspired me and thanks to you i got an amazing run :D
i assume the correct thing to do is 3 attacks -> special?
and then loop?
i like doing dash attack - special - continue
since the dash attack on staff is really strong
so rerolls + divinity > orig?
rerolls are essentially a must for 50
the tradeoff is typically lovers + huntress/night vs orig, but i think for momus night is about equal to orig
ty
It feels too weak to build around
Sure yeah
I like only 3 rerolls on Momus but thats just me
If I'm running a Sworn Strike, Heaven Flourish Than axe setup for 50F surface, is there any good alternative for Heaven Flourish to have descent boss damage? Or is it just a reset if Zeus doesn't show up in Ephyra? Alternatively, is it worth running Cloud Bangle over Iridescent Fan to guarantee Heaven Flourish and put the RNG on getting Sworn Strike?
Why are you running Heaven Flourish?
Because it does an absolutely titanic amount of boss damage
Then you probably want something else that can replicate that so maybe the Ares flourish with Grievous Blow?
There are other ways to get boss damage
Consider running an O-Attack or hybrid build
volcanic flourish is actually pretty great for bosses
a good high damage cast can also do the trick
does anyone know if you can force bridal glow on a non pommable boon?
Does an O-Attack/Hybrid usually rely on a Hammer? I normally don't like using O-Moves because of how slow they are. What do you usually need to consistently get sub minutes boss kills?
Yeah, unfortunately the best cast for this is Zeus. Slotting in Heph special or cast might be what I'm looking for, I usually get too tempted to roll for survivability boons when taking Heph
if you just need a boss cast then posedon isnt the worst thing int he world at high rarity
and hestias cast at epic rarity is also quite strong
I usually consider Hestia cast more for ad clearing rather than boss damage because (correct me if I'm wrong on this), scorch damage doesn't benefit from %damage buffs
i think it does
iirc the amount of scorch is purely a timer and not the actual damage it does
Posiedon Special might be a good shout though. Since axe special has 3 hits it gets to 60 power for lvl 1 common compared to 100 for Zeus Special. Going for Poseidon's legendary later in the run though gives it a +200% buff
Oh, interesting. I didn't know that. Makes sense though since Burning Desire exists
i was talking about his cast, his cast starts at 180/cast at epic which is comparable to a common zeus cast except its burst damage which is better
pos special could work tho but it doesnt give u orig (unless ur not running it?)
I usually get origination from Artic Ring, Passion Rush, or Glamor Gain depending on what Ephyra gives me
True, Posiedon is one of my least used setups so I tend to overlook some of his boons
Though I'd ideally like to get boss damage on special and save cast for ad clear or hybrid ad clear/boss damage since Axe special is so directional and cast is easy AOE
i find that pos cast is one of the best at ad clear since it nearly 1taps early game enemies after wards are knocked off
Interesting. I usually go the other way around, use a multi hit cast to knock off wards to make the rest of my damage go through
those are valid but pos special seems like a big highroll is what im saying ig
i suppose you want those things anyway for their actual value
the first 55f clear on underworld actually took hell splitter to get enough damage to beat the timer
thats a potential option too i suppose
hell splitter is a lot worse now that you dont have the frame 1 block option, so you're significantly more vulnerable
ahh thats fair
I never take Eperimental Hammer on axe because of the 1 time I took it in Fields, got Hell Splitter, and lost the easiest 50F run I've ever had
oh well i guess thats not an option
executioner's is somewhat comparable too, no?
Best boons for Aspect of Selene?
Yeah, but I'm also not a fan of the big chop and if I'm going for a specific hammer it's just going to be Dashing Heave
Anybody?
Depends. You can go big O special/attacks with Night in which case you’d like big percentages. Apollo is real nice on attack. Or I also like doing Origination to power up the space lasers in which case any combo of Hera/Zeus/Ares/Hestia/Poseidon will probably work out
Heartthrob momus builds 🗣️ 🔥
so tired of getting demolished by frenzy 2 chronos and cerb
no idea how else to get sub 10 times though
idk why I'm trying to do this for every aspect cause circe is just giving me grief 😭 closest I've gotten in low 11
Could try without Frenzy or just Frenzy 1? I don’t think it makes that much difference
do you think frenzy 1 would affect time too much? cause that's doable difficulty wise for sure
Very little. Few seconds I’d imagine.
Probably better to keep the difficulty manageable so you can play better and less tilted
Even the speedrunners aren’t totally convinced Frenzy 2 is the play seems like. Like it’s some slightly faster phasing and things closing in against like Hippos outrun you
I'll try it and try to keep my sanity intact 😂 who would've thought turning down the fear would make the game easier
now whats a good synergy for artemis
im thinking just a basic hestia attack and wounds +hearthrobs
god or aspect
aspect
usually you want a %dmg boon on attack for your riposte crits
does riposte affect on-hit effects like splash and blast?
I believe it is only your weapon attacks
It's only weapon attack/specials, yeah So +% on those will benefit from crits but like blitz or waves won't
i have confirmed it is possible to pom un pommable boons via bridal glow and got life affri to an 89% increase to max health gains
def going to be attempting to use this set up to push that HP bar
Welcome back hades 1 dash
fr fr my baby boy zag had somethin to do with this dash
How are people able to move so rapidly while using Medea skull?
Everytime I try it it feels so sluggish
Do they change their controls or something?
are you on controller or something
Nah, that scaling is insane
I do rebind special to a bumper so it's easier to do Medea's loop
Yep
White Antler you so crazy https://imgur.com/a/aR8vcAv
move dash to shoulder asap and you may want to move one of attack or special to another shoulder if you use your thumb
I don't use my right thumb when I play on controller, lets me have better action speed
fat damage
You mean in general or just for Medea? Because that is a lot of muscle memory to replace lmao
Holy
for the shoulder dash, in general it's better for you if you wanna play better
for Medea, you may want to use two separate fingers for attack and special, otherwise your thumb has to keep moving back and forth for it
I see
So for example you have your dash set on L and an attack on R?
I have Attack, Cast and Special on the face buttons, I just don't use my right thumb, so I can have 3 fingers on it
My Medea gameplay looks like this with it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RbV4aA4kG2M
Yep, pretty strong aspect
Ah
Hey, what's youe go to arcana setup
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1238124170282532944/1343064391976747078/image.png?ex=67d8eaaf&is=67d7992f&hm=77454ae3b4eb818b40087c6ce80601073de31b211dca291828d3ebf5de964c23& this but I swap Artificer for Lovers on surface runs generally
I usually take Artificer in UW to supplement my build somehow due to the amount of minor drops Erebus has. Ephyra is 100% major rewards, so I don't quite need it anymore, and the 3 boss shields are more reliable as a result.
You can run Artificer in surface for Thessaly if you want though
Gotchs, thanks
I need some help with the captain elite enemy in the 2nd surface region. I legit just took more damage from him than the last boss. How do I dodge two people shooting wall bouncing shots at me and still do damage? Anyone got a good strategy for him?
for me i usually lock them in my cast when im having that issue, or if im using a weapon(idk which from the top of my head) that can stun them with my special for a second i spam that with my attack, usually helps me
im not the best at explaining 😅but i just try to freeze em
Lock them in your cast?
they’re talking about the yargonaut miniboss
it’s a miniboss so it doesn’t get trapped in your cast- it has armor so it can’t be stunlocked
Yargonaut does get trapped
Is the mini bosses that have the beeeg hp bars that are unable to get cast'd
oh ic
(that said I don't think the cast prevents his teleport)
Any clue for shadows yargonaut @bleak night
I haven't turned on shadows for the surface for so long lol
And how would I get the shadow and him in a cast when he doesn't run after me?
maybe that's the best strategy lol
I refuse to learn double spawn of typhon lol
At first I wanted to say shadows on the surface aren't that bad, not counting the Argonaut, but then I remembered the double spawns are a *** as well
The ephyra miniboss is also annoying lol
The sniper? Hm, I actually can't remember well. I think I only fought him once since turning on shadows
Nah idk how to fight it without Divine Dash lol
Lmfao
Last time I did, I took 170 damage
armour melting hammer
What if it doesn't give me that
RIP
So, would you say it's mandatory to choose an armor melting hammer for surface runs?
no
i didn't have much trouble with Yargonaut tbf
but i don't play on high fear so maybe that's why
OHHH MB
the way i beated him i just stayed behind him and dashed when the other guy shot me
since the attack cooldown for 1 yargonaut is very long and a lot of his attacks can be dodged by walking
yeah I've found it's better to run/walk to dodge the first shot, then dashing the bounce shot, it's honestly better if they both shoot at once
worst thing to do is to panic dash near the wall it's bouncing off of
I think I have only fought yarg a handful of times but I have no clue
Hitless Typhon with Medea
Wtf 💀💀💀
you should see the Mel Axe run
yesss will see
% Armor hammer works wonders. Beyond that there's not much hope. The projectiles retarget on riccochet so the fight is kinda just unfair. The Yargonaut fights dirty
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1252732088378200146/1351218955531849861/image.png?ex=67d99437&is=67d842b7&hm=c8b8bf729cb8e948224294bff9b35cf8fa0bbe602d0fa90dccfed8036d96a9ef& got a 50 Fear Surface Omega Attack Artemis run down, took me a while to figure out what I should prioritize
whenever there’s not a hammer that’s a direct upgrade to my build i just take any armor hammers available, esp on surface now that yarg is a thing
How come you always take Antler into Summit? Because of timer or as a challenge?
I feel some sort of pressure when closing out runs I record
Always just at the end, for the most part, so I just run Antler so my damage skyrockets
that way I don't have enough time to fumble lmao
Plus, with boons that resist or dodge hits being more valuable than +health stuff at higher fears, by the end of a run your survivability relies more on those than on your health bar
Also usually one or two heph boons get rid of much of the downside of antler on summit
Unless you've got Apollos.Heaven's "Melinoe the Tank" build Typhon is just gonna two tap you anyways if you mess up so health isn't as important as it is earlier in the run
At 50 almost certainly I would imagine yeah
The first time I fought him was at 16F with Pain and Frenzy on. To see him do 200 damage through strength in under 1 second with his final phase double beam sweep was an experience
double beam's damage seems daunting until you realize it's super easy to dodge, issue is getting stunned in the line of fire ig
Yeah, I think that was the first time I'd gotten to his final phase... so I didn't know to be ready for the second beam
That is also really fun conditioning for that fight because Typhon spends the first few phases teaching you to not stand close to him (chin attack and tornados) and then IMO you sort of develop a rhythm of weaving in and out to avoid the beams/balls and chin/nados
It’s a really fun fight to learn and it always feels really climactic because of how much HP he has and how dangerous the attacks are, even though once you learn the patterns if you just stay calm I feel like he’s decently easy to avoid
man the tornadoes always hit me no matter where I stand sometimes
i think the tornadoe have a blindspot on the outer corners, away from typhon
Yeah I think so too its like a cone
With snow queen, trusty shield, lover arcana, and some extra from the shop before. You can take around 6 hits from typhon before you are completely vulnerable to being one tapped with antler. So while it is risky, there are a lot of mitigating factors
And with mint condition and high enough damage you can transition him into the first egg phase before he hits at all
honestly just having the knucklebones 15% dmg is enough to nearly put typhon into the first egg phase
I found divine dash to make dodging Typhon much easier. You can actually dash into the headbutt with divine dash as it has enough i-frames for it
too bad its so rare to get
what is ?
divine dash
you can get it every run with athena keepsake
if you run Strength you can just put on Athena keepsake whenever and grab it early
It's common enough if you have 10 rerolls and use gorgon amulet tbf
im just really unlucky
I see a bunch of players whose bad rolls I've inherited. Happy to improve your H2 experience.
if yall were to change one duo boon in the game what would it be and why i'll go first. Cherished keepsake should refresh your current keepsake if it's expired when you obtain it. I just wanna health max heroic boons i need damn it
speaking of which, something i'm going to try and test soon is whether or not cherished keepsake refreshes gorgon amulet as long as it is not max level. I swear i accidentally did this in a run a few days ago but can't prove it does anyone know if this is possible?
even at max level it refreshes
Natural Selection because I don't like it
My Lucky Tooth got used up in Olympus, got Cherished Heirloom, it gave me a new DD
it was a rank 3 tooth turning into a rank 4 one
yeah ig a better way to word the change is that it should still refresh keepsakes that don't get a level so you at least get some value for it on them
plus it would be a fun way to twist up the RNG planning a refresh on a god keepsake
although i'm not sure if this would break the game
i still have not willingly taken that duo boon even in normal runs really
I would change Killer Current to Sea Star Storm: your lightning effects deal X% more damage for every minor find, centaur heart, mana pot, and pom of power you encounter this night
Whats a good arcana setup? I’m using Strength, Champions, Excellence, Persistence, Wayward Son, and a few others.
Depends on what you are trying to do! Every Arcana has a spot
I’m trying to get to and beat Typhon. I’m using the Coat.
Hmm, well, I think it depends on your aspect, what your strategy is, etc. but have a good think about what you are trying to accomplish with your build and whether or not all of the cards you are choosing actually align with that.
bottom leftmost 4 to get ten rolls, strength/death, and persistence i think are must takes
IMO they really didn't need to add the cooldown to it. The reduced duration alone would have brought it in line with Divine Dash. Mental Block not proccing on every cast makes it kinda worthless
agree
Yeah, it's a fight where staying on top of everything going on makes the fight decently easy, but once something goes wrong, everything goes wrong
What's everyone's favourite aspect with the sister blades? For someone who kinda keeps getting killed really easily trying to use them 🤣
I mean the easiest is probably Pan. Put Poseidon on special and get Origination up between cast and Slip and you’re done.
My favorite is Artemis tho. For Mel/Artemis best advice I can give is use your special more. You can attack while it’s out, it gives you a ranged option, it interrupts baddies as you move in, it hits twice and backstabs (on Mel) or can crit both ways (on Artemis)
I feel i’ve given pan an honest shot but I just cant find enough circumstances where the homing is actually better than the +backstab damage from mel with origination honestly. I’m a mel sister blades truther 😔
artemis blades my beloved
mel is the most based daggers
im having a trouble with thanatos axe on 8 fear . i go hera attack and cast demeter and the other whatever i find . any recommendation for a different build or anything ? i wanna beat it so badddddd
What fear options are you using? What Arcana loadout? Could also give Charon axe a try.
hordes ,grit, return ,fangs, frenzy ...xd
arcana just the due loadout
hordes, grit, and return are kinda bad unless you are forced in higher fears
hordes and grit are kinda not recommendable at 32 fear even
oh
try getting used to maxed frenzy and to at least time2 (time3 is not that hard even at 32 fear if you "get good")
with Strength arcana, one or two points in Scars is not too bad, getting used to Fangs is ok
the due loadout?
its just a loadout i once saw and been doing it ever since
my biggest weakness is i cant play without death definace
do you have bottom left corner (rerolls + gold) and left side column (activates Divinity)?
I mean Death arcana is OK, but if you are gonna continue pushing fear to at least 32 you'd be better served by improving your game and getting hit less often.
Even then Strength isn't as scary as it sounds, its damage resistance is strong and basically duplicates all sources of healing plus the damage buff early in the run. Should practice with it and not DDs.
Yeah, you become very hard to kill if you stack those Centaur Hearts.
howling soul meat grinder is very fun btw
you could say throwing your casts is very fun
seconded, I genuinely thought I'd never be able to play without death defiance but its so hard to go back after seeing how quickly you can cut down enemies with strength on
Do you have a screenshot of the rest of your loadout when this happened?
@rotund nacelle Just to keep chats clean thought it best to move the convo back in here. Essentially what i've been doing for the past week or so is testing how to get the most HP this is where i found the bridal glow thing. Since bridal glow is completely random to truly guarantee it HAS to be the second boon you get then it will always target your first boon you got so just take a god keepsake to start the run and roll that first boon till you get the one you want if the tech itself is all you're interested in pulling off in regards to the build
then it becomes just banking on hera for your second god this is much easier to pull off topside due to the fact that its all major rewards
I've been trying to see if we can rob Charon again by hitting Travel Deal with Bridal Glow to see if it scales as absurdly with level as Stutter Step
ahhhhh
yeah that it is much harder to do, look up what story triggers you might be able to hit to gurantee a hermes boon to begin a run because i know there are a few that guarantee it, if you do this topside and take hera keepsake it should make it much more likely that hera is in room two, if not i suggest taking a non boon reward for the second room if possible such as hammer or hex than reroll eyphra until you get hera in there
What's the pommed stutter scaling lol
@spare kite
yeah its insane lmao
Is the plan to oath salute degen resets until you get hermes into hera ephyra
I'm keeping forfeit on, so I get 1 boon before reaching Ephyra. With a few rerolls you can pretty reliably get Hermes first
now to explain further how this works for keepsake gods you can also take a heroic prio boon by upgrading an epic via their keepsake (attack, special, gain, cast, or sprint boons) then take a pom in the second room and roll eyphra till you get the god you want to bridal glow the boon of and hera for bridal glow but it makes it a 50/50 on if hera will pick that one tho
that can also work to drive it in your favor if theres no other way to gurantee a hermes first start
gameplay vid btw #h2-discussion message
They gave up on balance scaling 😭
Lmfaooooo
Gonna be sad seeing that patched
not sure if bridal glow doing that is a glitch but i hope they keep it in lmao its really funny when you can pom uncanny fort, just a common bridal glow makes that sucker 70% of magick from base heroic level of 50% ive been trying to proc it with a higher rarity for bridal glow to really push it
Setting all that up is fine, I can reliably enter Ephyra with either a Heroic Hera boon or a Hermes boon. The problem is if I take a Hera room with either 1 Heroic Hera + 1 Hermes or only 1 Hermes, Bridal Glow just isn't showing up
yeah in all honesty that mainly comes down to luck, if you can take a prio boon that will increase the chances of you getting secondary boons such as bridal glow which is how ive been able to proc it in an hera room consistently
well "consistently"
Imagine you could hit infusions
that would be crazy
70 damage Air Quality
Is anything else of Hera's unpommable? I've also kept Denial on to take other options out of the pool
im curious if it can hit a duo, although thered be legit no way to gurantee a proc on it
i mean ig you could attempt it by cleansing the boons that make up the duo boon if you UW
Does bridal glow prioritize the normal boons first or can you just 50/50 it
whether or not the boon is unpommable is irrelevant to how bridal glow picks the boon it upgrades at least in my personal testing thus far
nope, bridal glow only hits normal to epic rarity boon, so no legendary, duo, or infusion
Either it always picks the pommable boon or I've lost 8 50/50's in a row
Correction: 9 50/50's in a row
actually its 50/50 but the boon(s) it choose will be different in each location
i've been doing my best to keep track of the numbers and at least with my current attempts that succeeded in getting bridal glow the math is correct for a 50/50 chance 30 trials 17 chose the unpommable 13 chose pommable boon when i had flutter strike and life affri as the two options for it
now 30 runs isnt exactly a massive sample size but thus far it isnt that far off from what it should be if the probability is truly just 50/50
kinda wish the instant dash/o.cast expire speed is in heroic man i missed old geyser so much
it can hit heroic boons sadly ive had it happen a lot
yeah it prioritize normal boons first even its already heroic
guess i was getting pretty damn lucky then for the stats to skew the other way
Correction: 10 50/50s
yeah ive had to reroll a lot with uncanny fort as well had a few times where i hit a heroic bridal glow and anvil ring took it from uncanny fort smh
I've been going into room 3 Hera with 1 Heroic + 1 Hermes, using all rerolls, and have yet to see Bridal Glow show up. Then I take whatever it gives me when rerolling gets to 4 or 5, go for another Hera, get Bridal Glow, and it hits the other boon
I don't know what's going on. If Bridal Glow is even odds for hitting pommable/unpommable then eithe i've been doing something wrong or getting the worst RNG ever. I'm somewhere around 1 for 20 in a 50/50 setup
i mean statistically it would have to be a straight anomaly going 1 for 20 with truly 50/50. Ill see if i can't get some more tests going for that and figure out if theres a bias towards certain boons
Selene Coat builds anyone?
Night Arcana + Big Attack boon + Winner's Circle-Geyser Spout on cast
https://discordapp.com/channels/456889434672201729/1233146305308528650/1351426580014039091 I think I have found the worst build to ever win at 32
ok bet. I just turned Night Arcana on too before seeing this, we share a vision lol
Night is the new hotness
how does aspect of medea skull compare to beowulf? A friend of mines told me to get that because I said I loved Beowulf a ton
and I can see that it no doesnt has that 10% damage taken
its very strong and you zoom everywhere
okay that's reassuring to hear, planning to use it for one of my testaments for nightmares
It's mechanicallly similar since you load your ammo like you loaded the cast in hades 1
I can show you a run if you want to see gameplay
oh yes please
Yep, pretty strong aspect
Oh so your the guy who did those vids, seen your vids recommended to me before lol
damn mynt popular af
you can also watch a speedrun if you want to see a low fear fast clear
good stuff btw
sorry about that lmao
Nah seen your vids as well, as I said good stuff
saluting the oath of the unseen completely resets your seed right?
Fair enough, ty
It should yeah. It takes out the Selene starts at least.
medea is one of the strongest aspects and i think its probably fairly nerf proof because the average player is very bad at skulls
ok cool
its kind of like zeus shield or beo in hades 1, very strong but with a weird playstyle that the average player found hard so didn't really eat any nerfs
loved the zeus shield a ton, did a duo boon with athena and ares and it went hard
if you get like a selene start, exit game, re-roll, then another bad start and exit again, it'll take you back to the initial selene run im pretty sure. Unless you roll then change keepsake or arcana, its a lil weird but either way it is random when you salute every time
beo with dio went crazy, havent found a build that quite scratches the same itch yet
with scantilating feast and ice wine too oooof
is Black Fleece good on Selene-Coat if I've already stacked aphro strike and such?
40% additive - how much damage% do you currently have, including boons, arcana, and Shine?
+310% +100 O-Atk power
@civic ocean ^
usually i think there are better stuff to take
40% additive late in the game isnt huge
whats the staff tech these days?
Alright new here, but I had run with these as the main focus.
Tough Gain (Heph) Heroic Lvl 7 - Reducing all hits taken by 10 (and restoring my Magick)
Brave Face - Use Magick to resist 50% of any damage
Frosty Veneer - You cannot take more than 20 damage per hit
I had a few other damage resists as %'s, but ultimately I'm interested as to why I was occasionally taking damage hits of 20 (that was the cap)
I had assumed the order of operations was
1: Hit of 20 or higher comes in, gets SET to 20,
2. Either Tough Gain or Brave Face kicks in, setting that damage to 10, and the other kicks in to set the damage taken to 0.
Has anyone else done this build and can offer insight as to what is activating in what order?
From what I can gather, Brave Face, Tough Gain and my other damage resist items were activating first, and then frosty veneer seemed to be last to work, explaining the limit of 20. I did pick it up last overall in the run, but I'm unsure if order or pickup matters
Frosty Veneer is the final thing to apply
the order you gain the boons doesn't matter as the damage calculation system is a fixed system that just asks if you have certain boons at specific steps in the process
pretty sure % reductions occur first (Multiplicatively, if there's multiple), then fixed numerical decreases (To a minimum of 1 damage), then Frosty Veneer's cap of 20 if the damage is still over that
Right ok, I see, I was guessing something along those lines
Which makes me still surprised I was getting damage that low overall
were you running Strength?
So definitely a fun build, if a little impractical
No, but I would in future runs for sure, I now see that it would have been ridiculous
Yeah, you can be extremely tanky
but not invincible as end bosses have some BIG damage hits that kinda punches through all of that unless you have frosty veneer also up
To face tank one of Prom's flame waves you need to have 375 mana available for Brave Face to half the damage from it
then it's still 75 damage, so strength puts it down to 37, then tough gain down to 27 (If it works that way around, I forget)
I managed to grab both the Hermes dodge per boon, and whispy whiles, (and self regen) both of those came from Hera's legendary, so I got hit by|| Typhons Chin|| attack only a few times in total, and that's where I saw the frosty veneer number.
Now that it's worth mentioning, I had the Axe hammer that reduces damage while attacking, and some of the path of stars that give damage reduction every use of the Hex. (Hex didn't seem to charge from Brave Face)
Bring in Strength, and Island Getaway, and I think I'd take next to no damage, any that does break through would only be 20 from Veneer
they stack mostly mutliplicatively
Oh yeah
I think all path gains that say 5% damage reduction add together as one thing (since when you get multiple of the same upgrade, you're actually levelling a singular boon rather than getting copies of it)
that's true, so with strength, the other things don't really work out
but the path one is worth using
but say, brave face and strength both say 50% reduction, so damage is reduced to 25%
It is tied to phase shift, which can be a little hard to charge
which is still good, ngl
but if you get something to rapidly charge phase shift, that can quickly go to 50% in an encounter
but it's definitely not 50% +50% reduction to grant immortality
er, no
Is it once per encounter?
those bonuses don't stack each time you activate them, just the once
right, I felt like I saw that with the speed one and assumed something similar
but probably not
nah, sadly
they're there to encourage you to actually activate your hex in a room even if it's not the perfect time to
(Unlike how the older forms tried to do it)
However, night bloom can give 20% provided you have something raised
It won't live very long in the final encounters that matter though
depends on which upgrades you roll
night bloom is an interesting one for Typhon since you kinda want one of the eggs to hatch
I had a run with sun worshipper that did surprisingly well for that reason
even if Typhon can just chin-slam one to death, they can potentially still put out some impressive damage for a fire-and-forget hex
(Rigor is SO GOOD if you roll it)
it didn't seem to take much damage at all, as bosses damage is scaled to your health, not to the summons health
errr, shouldn't be
enemy damage is just 50x whatever it would do to you
or whatever it is
As in, while my hits have to do far more than my own HP damage to take down the first typhon summon, his hits are doing 90 ish from the chin slam, and I think the summon was tankier than me for that specific run
they have a huge damage reduction, but I think the chin slam just instakills
can someone correct me if I'm wrong but
are Olympus fountains only reachable via the side doors, or has someone taken a launch pad and gotten to it ?
only door iirc
I've only ever seen them by taking doors
yeah, was wondering if that's just not enough cases or just straight up impossible via launchpad. Just doors ig ?
Ok, so my sun worshipper and nightbloom minions just don't take damage, they face tanked all of Eris's phase transition blasts and it doesn't look like their health moved at all
but do not use them with hecuba or demeter freeze as they still get shut down by both of those
yeah, I instinctively drop cast whenever I use a hex and I facepalm every time I use arctic ring before using night bloom
I got the infinite duration and rigor upgrades (and they use my revenge and special boons). I genuinely want to see if they can solo typhon
If if I get him to the first phase transition, it will summon something, (and I can force this with the upgraded keepsake that blasts him for 25%)
They probably can, but you have to let the eggs pop before killing them
I'm cooking here
But I found them kinda clueless during Typhon phase transitions
is it seasoned well
Now to get prometheus to actually summon backup
I wonder if these boons work on the vow that summons a copy of the boss or a shadow summon
I assume they would, which might make this easier
They do, but bosses don't get those, only miniboss
Aint no way. Prometheus's summons are coded to vanish after a few seconds
They just jump in and out, I feel genuinely scammed
They vanish after he starts his phase transition thing
Oh lol that's F10 worthy
Well, more specifically, they appear for their one attack then dip
So either it's a bug, but I think it's likely an oversight, as they must be unique entities
So it's working as intended, but the enemies aren't what a player might expect or want from the effect
The summons in Prom's fight behave weirdly tbh. I'm not really sure what procs them. I had a run with damage issues and Prom didn't really call them either lol
Typhon seems to be at 65000 HP based on the knuckles doing 25% hp
yeah it's 65k
Ok, I've learned so much this run
my summons heal from the self healing apollo thing

This is some science stuff
I got the eye summoners, and they are currently blocking almost all projectiles
and each of the eyes is applying revenge effects (including daze)
and self heal (which is apparently a revenge effect)
that used to be nuts when Nasty Comeback existed
Unfortunately, doesn't look like I'll win this run, the damage is abysmal as they are using the freeze special
but I think with some proper boons and specials, this is definitely a thing
I didn't pick up the on death effect path of stars and I absolutely should have as the eyes would be counting
is it self healing or warm breeze?
I don't have a duo, so whichever one that isn't
I GOT TO HALFWAY WOOOO
so 10 minutes so far
you're just hanging back and letting the summons attack for you ?
I can only do that with 20 hp and no death defies
but I think if I got the explosions on death path of stars, I would have 100% won
This build basically was exclusively the summons
I think I know how to build it properly next time
record the boss fight next time for science pls
I'll see if I can even get the right path of stars first. That seems to be the main challenge
Not just night bloom, but everything within it
I feel like the EM for poly is gonna be his original fight with the sheep
Imagine if it's three cyclopses
Does Ares wounds trigger on all of the blades on the dagger omega strike or just the first
just the first
Cut Above might be what you're looking for though
That's what I thought so it isn't good for a pan build lol
combine it with a Heph core for Coffin Nail and it'll be good. Since you're playing Pan you'll want Ares on Attack or Dash anyway for the Poseidon duo
I'm actaullly going for a funny freezer burn build with hestia cast and demeter speical.
reverse it if possible
easier to accumulate scorch ticks with Hestia Special, then you use Demeter Cast as a detonate button
or imo just run a different cast, put Demeter on attack
I like hestia cast better
eh, fair enough ig. Won't be as effective though
and it's to late lol
Even with coffin nail you'll only get like 2-3 swords which I guess is better than nothing lol
smolder ring works better with sth like +posei special for vapor
that's kinda bad lmao
does scorch work with zeus at least 30 damage boon?
Air Quality? I think so
so it'll deal 30 damage per sec? if so that's really funny
not quite sure what numbers on it are, but iirc you can get that number on Scorch really easily with Pyro Technique of a good rarity or with some poms on it ?
yeah that sound way better
It deals 180 damage per second
Scorch at base is 13 so Air Quality is a 130% or so damage increase
But it doesn’t work with other things that increase Scorch’s damage, of which there are many
wtf is the tick rate if it's 13 per tick
6 per second
It’s 13.3 damage or smth
Scorch, gales, support fire, static shock, arctic ring
You can actually get a lot of instances of 30 damage
But not all of them work the same way iirc
Like I think it has a bad interaction with exhaust riser
oh weird
I have to test that sometime
Because in theory its quite good - regular dash attack is 15x3 so exhaust riser is 15x9 which is a big jump with aq static sfire
isn't it just +3 from exhaust riser to 6 hits, which I mean still really good with aq probably
or does the description lie
Any rough build outlines with gods (and decent alternatives) for the aspect of moros?
Gonna pick that up and bonk some things with it
born gain, ares/zeus special, hera/aphro/ares attack, fine line, athena pike is the classic build
shreds easily
pretty flexible outside of born gain (maybe mortal gain if you'd like) tbh
Does pyro technique increase the tick rate or the damage per tick?
exhaust riser makes your dash attack do 6 hits total
yeah that's what I thought
it is 6 individual hits, no reason why air quality wouldn't boost each hit up to 30
they're so close together that the damage text will batch them together into one number
but that's a visual thing only.
With hitch the batching makes it so that only the first shared hit does 30 so I am not sure
Base flat damage, it also depletes your scorch by the same amount
hitch is a bit weird since it bypasses basically every damage modifier to prevent loops
it's not a good example for working out if other stuff works in a certain way
I will have to check it out but even with 6 it would still be very good of course
exhaust riser is a monster for stacking on hit effects, particularly given its aoe
The more important thing is the 6 scorch stacks/support fires/static shocks that all deal 30 damage except for scorch which works out to 180 per second
ah, right, so in that instance
you get 6 stacks of scorch all pooled into one number
that do scorch as scorch does
180/sec for however long that lasts, no problem there
I think support fire and static shock has a brief cooldown on triggers though
so you won't get 6 of each for each enemy you hit
they both have a projectile cap too
You just want as many as you can get
And then usually arctic ring and arctic gale/frigid sprint
Then your damage is actually pretty high with AQ but
Prominence Flare and Glorious Disaster
ew
Prominence Flare is good but the build I am playing uses void 4 so it usually takes Athena 2nd biome for Stalwart Stand
And static shock can prime you out easily too
is success rate an additive increase or a percentage increase?
percentage
so if you have +50% success rate and your other boon would normally proc 30% of the time, it now procs 45% of the time
One of the nice things about the boon is that every chance it affects is updated correctly for each boon's description, even if it's not a green number
so Divine Vengeance will show 65% refire chance if you have a +30% common Success Rate
oh cool
but also oh not cool since it isnt a massive increase for extra dose like i thought it was
no, but there's a lot of VERY notable boons that don't scale well with rarity/poms but reallllllly benefit from success rate
they need to just buff Extra Dose's numbers a bit or something
Double up, Shocking Loss, Divine Vengeance, half of Ares' support boons
make it 10% at base, since it only works on Attack (not even Omega Attack)
Shocking loss at 30% trigger rate is silly
Extra Dose being 5% at base when Grievous Blow exists at 10 at base is kinda whacky
its still multiplicative damage technically
though it only works on basic attack and the numbers are worse than ares, yeah
Epic S.rate + 4* antler
they need to change Dazzling Display before anything else lol
Probably swapping those would be fair
% chance for status on a t2 boon is crazy yeah, but everyone takes blinding rush for daze anyway
I used Dazzling Display for the hitless run thing. Imo just make it 30% at base or something idk
I think it's got its uses for the most part
I kinda like Grievous at 10 though
I'd prefer if they just buffed Extra Dose without touching the other stuff
true or false, aphro and apollo are the same god
I mean so do I haha it’s awesome
Uhhhh yeah bigger percents and dodge chance support either will do
I feel like if they wanna nerf Grievous, make it related to the requirements rather than the numbers on it, but that might be just me
i look at both their boons and they are actually fairly similar in my opinion
except apollo doesnt need you to be in melee range
aphro numbers are bigger though, of course, in exchange for the melee range stuff
like daze is 20% damage reduction effectively, compared to 30% weakness
Apollo feels weird ngl
I enjoy running Apollo as a main damage source and stuff nowadays, but it feels weird to get him for his support stuff
Blinding Sprint is the only thing you really want from him for the most part
yea the extent of support I seek from apollo is getting daze
apollo has % damage cores, plus daze for survivability
aphro has % damage cores, plus weak for survivability
apollo has perfect image, back burner, extra dose as ways to increase damage, self healing infusion for survivability
aphro has shameless attitude, sweet surrender, secret crush as ways to increase damage, wispy wiles infusion for survivability (plus broken resolve)
THEY ARE THE SAME PERSON
it's funny because I run these two together
actually though perfect image and shameless attitude are similar, both give %damage and want you to not get hit
extra dose and secret crush are both multiplicative damage effects in a sense
what kind of build wants apollo + aphro?
or are you just taking one or the other as a supplemental god for survivability?
attack spam
Hearthrob builds sometimes, for dash attack builds on certain weapons you want either Apollo Attack + Aphro Sprint or Aphro Attack + Apollo Sprint
Warm Breeze build
Guys. I’ve had who knows how many attempts at Typhon (beat him the first try from what I can only describe as absolutely stupid luck, and maybe one other time). HOW are yall getting past this; what works against him? What do I have to have during my run to get through it (except, yknow, not getting hit)? I’m so frustrated man
also apologies if this is the wrong channel for that
he's partially a dps check
he has a ton of hp but also has a massive hitbox and doesnt move
the better your dps the faster you can phase transition him and the less you will be getting hit
a lot of builds that make it there can just partially facetank and max dps him and win (assuming damage is good enough)
other than that, the safest place to play the fight is usually right underneath his head
the biggest move you need to watch out for there is his head slam, which is indicated by his horns flashing red right before he does it
the other moves that can hit you there are quite telegraphed
I get hit by the balls a lot
correct, I manage to avoid that, it’s mostly his projectiles and spawning foes with his tail
the egg phases, his tail will always hit exactly twice where you are standing
so just be prepared to avoid it
projectiles idk, just dodge them
The bouncing projectiles are okay, but it’s the ones that swirl in place
and also I guess I should get better at the game idk
The best way to learn is to just try and dodge as long as possible instead of doing damage
learn all his attacks before you start trying to kill him while learning his attacks
You'll be less likely to kill him this run, more likely next run.
the tornados kind of suck because they're hard to see
The thing is, I know his attacks, but man are they a pain in the ass when they’re all simultaneous
idk i usually just back off and respect him a little when he does that move
or I just facetank if my build is good enough
bbygirl just needs some personal space ✨
