I practice a little bit of Hellenic paganism myself and prefer to call the Theoi by the closest pronunciation of their names I can easily find if I'm working with them vs. just talking about them

I recommend the daggers because one of the biggest things in this game you need to learn is spacing. Knowing how far your attacks go and how far enemy attacks go, and knowing that sometimes closer to an enemy can be safer than further away, will get you accommodated to those kinds of dynamics

plus as a short-range weapon it encourages you to learn the moments where you can swoop in and do a lot of damage, which sort of passively teaches you the moveset and cycles of enemies

ya learning that quickly. Unlike Hades 1 where I could go in and just pound stuff this is more do damage run and wait to attack

Also, some of the strongest effects in the game (imo) are on hit, and it pops on hit effects constantly due to its massively fast attack rate. Being short range, it also benefits from builds where you don't have a way to make your cast a shot

Okay, I'm really into aspects for anyone so hm, here, Lim and Oros, Aspect of the Fates, just made it up now
The straight blade becomes a pair of scissors, the curved blade is a spindle.
You hold the strings of fate, and can snip threads to bring the end of foes.
Snip damage per thread: 120/140/160/180/200
Your special now throws a straight line of thread, if it hits an enemy, it does no damage but connects the enemy to the spindle, while Omega Special fires 5 strands in a very spread fan pattern. 5 lines can be out at once, either connecting across multiple enemies, or all on the same enemy
Omega Attack now becomes a lunge forward with a hard snip of the scissors in contact, hitting threads with Omega attack will cut them, dealing damage

but then again she also doesn't move at all so she's very easy to deal damage to, which is a nice balance with how threatening she is

you can drop a damaging cast on her and run away for a bit and it'll rip through her pretty quickly

Scylla is second and I am pretty sure the game makes sure she is the last one you kill

meanwhile jetty moves around a ton and is annoying to pin down, but isn't much of a threat usually, one of her attacks is just a stun which deals no damage but sets up the other two to hit you

jetty is def the most annoying for speedruns because she runs away and if you don't get her down ASAP it makes the fight take longer
but for getting used to the fight roxy is prob the most important to deal with so you can see what the other two are doing lol, roxy is a bit distracting

it's a fun fight tho
I love that the instruments they play drop out of the music as you defeat each band member

• how much control you have over what you need to dodge, since you can choose to focus on whoever you want to get rid of their attacks early

also idk, Ω special is more a matter of positioning than rng 🤷 it lasts for ages, it's not rng whether it hits something. if you stand at the right distance from the drummer in the sirens fight it will always hit her

Mel staff is the ideal aspect for specials, and you usually spam dash strike + special at almost the same time

spamming special on its own is a bit slow, generally, but it combos super well with attack combos and dash strikes

mainly on momus and anubis, since they give you reasons to actually use them. but they're neat

staff oatk isn't like.... worth using lol, on mel staff or circe staff, 99% of the time

but the game is also for sure balanced around her cast. like the screaming banshee enemies in erebus, and the fish swarms in oceanus? awful if you don't cast. like the very end of the sirens fight

Nemesis requires using Attack and Special, Achilles uses Special to Boost Attack and/or Cast, Zeus fires your Special leaving Zag free to move and Attack, your mark enemies with Chiron's Attack to make the Special seeking, Attacks charge Demeter's Special.

Only the Rail doesn't have an Aspect with explicitly interplaying Attack/Special/Cast, but given Eris's universal damage buff I'd say it's not encouraging you to only spam its Special.

I think some h1 weapons just have a special which feels designed to be used occasionally rather than as part of a combo.
like, no sword aspect really uses the special in the way most h2 specials work imo. Nem uses it for buff uptime, but the actual damage from the special isn't like.... an important part of the combo. same with eris

I'm mainly saying this because I remember during EA (before heph blasts got buffed) some people were saying his blasts made more sense in the context of hades 1 weapon design, where a lot of weapons have moves you use occasionally rather than often, so making that one hit do a bunch of damage on a cooldown would line up well

arcana is weird, and only looks the way it does since I was doing max scars and no magick usage at all

splash was okay but I found that scorch felt better overall for high fear
and lowkey blitz attack + static shock + air quality is really fun. static shock in general is insane on Hel, didn't have it for my winning attempt but did for a lot of my best tries before that
