so i just encountered one of the most broken things things in the game and it almost killed me,

thankfully i had over 250 Hp, I ate most of it, but if i was running pain and more mobs were on me i would have been dead

but the mourning fields there are those big banshee's that shoot thorns at you, don't really know how to describe other than that, and i was running frenzy, the vow where enemies armor get random perks... well.... I'm pretty sure she got one that stuns you, and I was just hard stun locked and couldn't do anything other than sit there and eat dmg....

Like it almost feels unfair at that point... like being hard stun locked for a solid 2-3 seconds....

I even did the rival version of him like 5 times.... maybe if someone can talk to me about this we can hop over to story if thats a better place?

ooooh then you have a lot of “free” fear you can still turn on!
hubris, return, and menace 2 for sure.
frenzy 2 is a lot of fear but can be tricky to get used to (once you ARE used to it it’s fine tho)
and you’re on a fast attacking weapon so frankly wards shouldn’t be too bad, just grab scorch/hitch/splash/static shock if needed and you’ll melt them before they’re an issue
edit: and timer!! how long was your last successful run?

Due to the time I spent in EA I can reliably advance through game content pretty fast. Which is disappointing now since there's a ton of dialogue that gets missed this way. For example, if you have been to the surface and not advanced past Prometheus, there's interesting dialogue of the gods afraid of something happening on the mountain. Aphrodite talks about terrible quakes and gets afraid once she finds out it's not Poseidon doing it. And Apollo says he spotted something moving in a crevice. Once you see the summit portion these dialogues go away.

I always just maxed out the aspect of the character that you can speak to. Got it to lv 5 and got it right away

it’s mainly a pain if you dislike all the non-hidden aspects of the weapon since then you invest in something you aren’t going to use much

I did a RoV4 run with Zeus cast and Raki and Circe shredded that whole run

Similar story for the axes, I think Thanatos needs the Nightmare to really separate it from Mel axe whereas Charon's fantastic out of the box

Same story for the skull and Coat, Medea and Nyx are objectively better but don't need as much help while Mom skull and moon coat really want the Nightmare

I'm not a huge coat fan but the Nyx coat is super fun

I like the selene one better only because Hex is fun to build around

nyx also just has an upgrade that doesn’t matter too much on its best builds
nightspawns trigger on-hit effects like scorch and splash, so increasing the base damage of nightspawn doesn’t have a massive impact

It's kinda funny how Mel Coat went from "least worst" to "worst" just because of a single buff to Nyx and introducing more Hex support

I know less abt the h1 meta, but for me it was a similar story with zeus shield, where it was already amazing with zeus and dionysius special so I upgraded chaos first despite liking zeus more

I upgraded Zag bow first over the others despite them being better because loved the Artemis and Aphro crit build with it

• I liked being able to still use my attacks while the special was out, chaos has a more defined gameplay loop which is fun but sometimes wasn't what I was in the mood for

but idk, I didn't look online at all while playing h1 so I had no idea what was good vs bad, just what I liked 🤷
