Hello commanders! Hopefully its the right place to ask. Im relatevely new to the game, but while online guides do help i have some.questions that only a human can aswer so there we go. Im about to show you my dock and my fleet composition. I would like to receive some feeback on either it being good/bad or where to improve, wich ship to focus on (yes, i am working towards warspite retrofit) and wich to ditch for better options.

Im still quite unsure about wether or not to use massachussets or warspite in my main fleet, but until i get the retrofit is definitely going to be massa.

You'll get a lot more from those MLB'd ships than you will from multiple lower limit break ships.

Ehhh it's good practice to get a mob fleet setup alongside a boss fleet asap so it'll be easier to clear stages I think.

So basically for a mob fleet you want sustain and consistent damage. Ships that heal and ships that can stay alive.

In this case the core of mob you can say would be Unicorn (retrofit her asap). She's a healer and gets even better retro'd due to her preload and main fleet heal. Another good pick would be Minne since she has this skill which heals her at low HP once a battle (also known as zombie skills) so those two are definite choices for the mob fleet.

This we can do smth like...

Penny Flag / Unikai / Graf or Lusty
Minne tank / Z46 (strong gunboat) / Balti

Which would cover most fields including having a BB for suicide boats. Generally carriers work better on mobs cos of screen clear though.

Now for the boss fleet we want mostly damage and enough bulk to kill the boss before it kills you. We have BBs so get some good guns on them and you're good to go.

Now there are two specific ships that I would recommend getting at this point. Helena (from guild shop purple) and Portland (from guild shop blue 300). You have a starting 3000 guild tokens so you can easily get both. Helena is an enabler that lets your main fleet do 40% extra damage when her skill procs for 8s, so we want to build around that for maximum damage. Portland is despite being blue, an amazing tank that can help all the way to mid to late game.

So we want to time our airstrike and shelling...

POW Flag / Masse / Lusty or Graf
Portland tank / Helena / +1

This +1 can be any decently leveled ship for now, no real need to be picky about it tbh.

Now how do we sync up our shots to the 20s that Helena procs on? For carriers it'll be easy since I think carriers with full planes should be able to be adjusted to around 22-23s. For battleships just put this weapon on them and you're good to go. No, don't care about Gold BB guns they're mostly bad.

So, let me get this straight. I was trying to build a fleet with some kind of synergi. Prince of wales buffing eagle unions, Minnie and Balti being absolutely incredible and balty buffing herself cause no eage union cv and so on. All of that, useless?

yeah i have looked at it but oviously RNG matters and so do personal preference( at least to some degree)

Oops sorry had to step away. Errr so most of the synergy that you have in mind really only works best when you have a bigger selection of ships to choose from unfortunately.

For example POW can buff Masse but Masse needs a USS BB (or CV I think) to self buff which you don't have, so it feels kinda painful in that sense.

Balti works nice but I think she's best in a fleet with full USS CVs as well which is also hard to get Klee_Derp

So for now it's best to just try to push as much while praying to gacha gods to send you love PortDoll

As for the 3CV and no CV bit when you progress more you'll realize that most of the damage comes from the backline, so having Balti do an AVI buff fleetwide is better than self buffing herself.

Unicorn can probably carry you easily quite a long while. And this comes with another lesson. Rarity doesn't mean as much as you think it does Klee_Derp

For example Prinz is a gold but while her tankiness is amazing, she does 0 damage. Portland like I mentioned earlier does about 2x of her damage. PortDoll

Ok so, to summarize

Focus on getting a mob fleet and a boss fleet.
For mob, retrofit uni, slap it with pensylvania (flag) and then either zeppy or lusty (wich one should i pick and when)
and for vanguard use minne as tank, z46 and balty (best girl oath when?)

For boss fleet,
Wales as flag with masse and either lusty or graf, Portland as my tank (gotta lvl her up) helena and +1 means whoever i want
