I like Pink's idea about running 3 BBs so their aux guns chip away at Laffii. I'm running two and they are firing a ton. I'm running comps with Hiryuu though, so I'm trying to figure out a 3rd BB that would match up with FdG and New Jersey. I won't have Kear at Dev 30 for a loooong time. Any suggestions that would be an improvement over Hiryuu? Richey, Warkai, Prince of Whales, Hood, Owari?

For NJ, seems that the Manjuu is highly recommended and not situational now that Laffii is in the van and the Van doesn't need it. Probably green and the beaver is yellow.

And if you think about it all the USS gear does is make her better vs CVs but CVs are really weak right now so it’s an optional buff. You could ignore it but giving her the USS AA and getting an extra AA gun is going to be better than just having the UR AA so you might as well do it

back in the day when this fleet was still mingling with the various 2 BB 1 CV fleets which were meta in EN. JP players were basically adamant with this backline loadout while EN players dropped it for faster fights, unaware of this interaction lol
nowadays, either Musashi or Vanguard got the WNT and would become the flagship in order to activate its skill; basically leading to more consistent fights in theory
but with WNT flag + Vanguard interaction, your fleet basically performs in pristine condition thanks to Vanguard's buffs while your enemy fleet deals even less damage compared to what they'd deal thanks to attacker advantage

This is unfortunately pretty true. With Laffii in your vanguard, all you need is a decent backline and you'll place well easily in little enty. After Mushashi rerun and more NJ pity, I hope that optimizing will be important
