mostly they're retroed only to round out a fleet since as your starters you tend to, well, use them. but unlike unicorn and helena they don't really have a use going into more of the mid/endgame, and even portland possibly outlast them for a spot in the fleet while being cheaper to retro

Fritz Rumey: Probably the most flexible of the UR carriers, she is excellent against light and medium armor bosses thanks to her ability to equip 8 fighters. This also enables her to more easily get off 4 airstrikes in 80 seconds META showdowns compared to other carriers. She’s also solid in the Main Campaign stages. Her main weakness is that she’s more reliant on having good equipment (even compared to other carriers) and, to a lesser extent, tech to get the most out of her, since she only has 2 aircraft slots, each of which consists of 4 aircraft. And getting HVARs, Skyraiders, and La-9s in quantity isn’t that easy.

Guam, Gouden Leeuw: These 2 fullfill pretty similar roles, hence why they’ve been grouped together. They’re both excellent AA ships that can tank. Guam overall has better AA and buffs the AA capabilities of the fleet overall, while Gouden has better damage and a bit of healing. Both are really useful ships to have in late campaign stages where enemy planes are a constant concern. Their relatively unimpressive damage and lack of meaningful damage buffs/debuffs, however, for the fleet mean that they’re relatively lackluster choices for single-target bosses.

Raffaello, Musashi: 2 ships that do very different things but shine in the same content, which is late Campaign Mob fleets. Raffello has the ability to heal and shield vanguards, and Musashi can tank damage for the main fleet. Both of these abilities are very useful to have in late campaign stages with high amounts of pressure for both the main fleet and vanguard. They also both have decent AoE damage, which is very useful for clearing mob waves. Their damage output, compared to newer UR main fleets, is wanting against single-target bosses, hence why they aren’t rated higher.

Trafalgar: One of the best universal debuffers (if your flagship is a battleship) in the game. Her 10% evasion rate debuff is almost unrivaled for increasing the damage your fleet deals against bosses, and unlike Helena, applying said debuff is consistent. She has good AA, has decent personal damage, and eHP, so she can also do some decent work in campaign. Her main weakness is that she’s effectively locking you to running a BB as a flagship, which is not always ideal. She’s also relatively fragile (compared to other UR vanguards).

Yorktown ll, Lexington ll: These 2 I’m doing together because it’s almost pointless to run one without the other, at least in a boss fleet. 2 of the highest damage ships against light armor, with decent against medium armor. Lexington 2 also has a 4-second root (provided the enemy has had its AA stat debuffed when she launched her airstrike), removing the need to run Implacable or Nahkimov with them. Lexington also has very useful utility in the main campaign. If your fleet shoots down 68 aircraft, she can reduce the damage your main fleet takes from enemy aircraft by 100%. So why are they, Lexington 2 in particular, so low. Aside from the difficulty in getting HVAR Hellcats and Skyraiders from them, they only really shine against light armor, and both want to be run with 2 other Eagle Union ships to proc self buffs, making them relatively inflexible.

Guam, Gouden Leeuw: These 2 fullfill pretty similar roles, hence why they’ve been grouped together. They’re both excellent AA ships that can tank. Guam overall has better AA and buffs the AA capabilities of the fleet overall, while Gouden has better damage and a bit of healing. Both are really useful ships to have in late campaign stages where enemy planes are a constant concern. Their relatively unimpressive damage and lack of meaningful damage buffs/debuffs, however, for the fleet mean that they’re relatively lackluster choices for single-target bosses.

For some context am a casual player i have been playing this game for 6 years now ,i pull for ships i like and at this point i have over 600+ in my account. I have lots of ships that are leveled trough daily playing that are over LV 80. I play for fun don’t go deep in high dmg on ships and have too many things am holding on too, and I put random stuff that I can find on my ships that I think are oke. I never watched a guide or looked anything up about how to increase dmg or how to improve your fleet. But am surviving somehow.

But I really would like to change it!

After seeing what my ( so called ) main fleet did in exersice I saw that am lacking in fleet building and general knowledge of the skills of certain ships that can pair with others,
