if you click on a mission node it should tell you the star requirements usually its beat boss, clear x number of enemies not including boss, and clear all enemies on the map

as for leveling unless the game gives you exp books early on only way to level is to play the game

sometimes the game will tell you to clear a stage more than once to proceed to the next stage so i usually full clear the first run then math out the remaining i need to do

you can also request assist and people will help you, youll get full rewards even if you didnt hit it at all

the boss armor type is heavy, try your best and see if you can do it in like 3 shots, you can re-enter as many times as you want but itll cost oil

the downsides of not doing meta fight is effectively none, as its just for collection purposes and tech which doesnt even need mlb
