Here I was right. Playing Archeage at a n event called abyssal attack which is you fight over an area, kill a kraken and control the middle which spawns a bunch of resources you can turn into gold
This was a particularly competitive server so the stakes were high. The fighting was fierce and the shit talk was flying.
Multiple raids of hundreds of people were slamming into each other, galleons were being destroyed left right and centre.
It was looking like the west faction would win and take the kraken down and channel the flag.
then the popup appears
"Hero Katsuie has channeled a peace flag in the Arcadian sea"
This absolute legend had done it. Someone had said "no balls" to him so he single handily took the fun away from nearly 1000 people fighting over a tiny little island.
The fighting just turned into more shit talk as no one could attack each other anymore and there was a mad dash by greedy people to get the gold.
The rest of us sat there stunned laughing thinking about the mad lad Katsuie. That's how i'll remember him gaming.

I'm not a AL player, but I was in a guild with Kat and his girlfriend in BDO for the first year or so of the game. There were quite a lot of fun times in Teamspeak, especially with all of the nsfw and lewd jokes being tossed around. I distinctly remember many of us ribbing on when Kat would go to Australia to visit @thin zealot (we may or may not have added "to get pegged by her"). By the time that happened, most of us had either left the guild or quit BDO, but we were still happy things worked out for the two of them. My condolences to his family and acquaintances on his untimely passing.

Hey all, this is Kats brother.
I just wanted to thank everyone here that has been in Kats life. All of his online friends and the communities he was a part of really meant a lot to him. He dedicated more time hanging out gaming with his pals more than he would play one match of Val with me haha. He was kind and had a big heart, and tried his best to be there for everyone.
Also! You guys absolutely blew our minds with how much support we got on the GoFundMe! We’re all so happy and grateful to see the support he’s receiving, we’re almost at the goal too!
I will also be live-streaming his funeral on YouTube for those who wish to attend but cannot in person. I will also be reading what everyone has to say about him during that time. (DM me)
