It needs better, VFX when it comes to the layer around the ball.

Like, instead of the impact, scaling out towards the Z axis, so in this case up. You could start up with a large size and scale it down just as an "meteor", You could try out adding particles/beams (ex: dust,) around it for a more "dramatic" effect. And aswell, replace the VFX model with sharp edges, for something more soft or "hard" depending on the shapes you're gonna use. Some debris around it could upgrade it nearly instantly. (see reference images)

And yes, I am sure due to technical capabilities ROBLOX can't handle the exact same sort of result you expected, but you can shape it up and give the illusion of it with different type of meshes.

Have you thought about, using some effects for your players screen aswell? Such as when they're close to it, their screen get's an sort of orange GUI to appear depending on the VFX's color. So it could display some sort of heatwave or some other neat effects.

Adjust it so that the player feels more of an impact instead of only a mild screenshake, so they'll get more of an experience out of it.

I've got a mad game coming up in the near-future, I'm in-charge of the creative part of it, direction steering it up, bla bla bla.

So yeah, except a bunch of good VFX ideas to be implemented or even documented.

By the way Goat, have you added SFX yet!?

They'll make up for the impact, most of the time.

So if you think it feels bland, probably cause you didn't add SFX.

Just like animations, some of your VFX could have some anticipation, action and reaction.

So an crater could be possible in your VFX so it also influences it's environment.

matter of fact, if you can animate, you can even make it that mid-VFX your character starts not only "seeing" things, they can also just have an sort of animation playing while in it, such as being dizzy. That also contributes to the "popping" aesthetic of your VFX.
