You can try this new functionality in (we have since removed the testing channel) and we have changed the help channels to forum channels as well, you can find them here #1006356488912121967 - #1006356664343076904.

We're currently still working on finding possible implementations for this new channel type, some ideas include (#resources and #suggestions). Send your ideas in #📝︱server-suggestions.

Credits to @lean cosmos for helping out with designing the new help channels.

I'm here to tell you that we've hit another milestone! We recently got past 35,000 members, 5,000 more than our last celebration <t:1657277820:R> 🎉
We hope that everyone enjoyed our latest event, the Halloween game jam (hosted by @lean cosmos) even if you weren't able to participate or win anything. We're trying to think of more fun activities that we can do in the coming month(s) and make this community a little more interactive. Feel free to suggest what you want us to do in #📅︱event-suggestions!

Some things that we will be working on:
• An improved @lone snow Discord bot.
• Improving the usability of forum channels.
• Archiving older help channels (forum channels have been officially been released for a little while now).
• Staff applications*
• More events.

Seeing this community grow has always given me a big smile 😊 Thanks to all of you and the staff team this community keeps thriving, growing and providing a place for all Roblox (and non Roblox) developers that want to improve, learn and grow. @everyone it's been a while since we first started offering a form of premium server memberships in RSC, currently done through Patreon.
But I'm happy to announce that we have finally gotten access to Discord Premium Server Memberships! 🎉
That's why we will be doing a survey to gather as much feedback possible to revamp our memberships into something the community wants and deserves.
All profit from this memberships will directly go back into this community by funding events, giveaways, and other amazing projects and ideas!

We know that filling in these surveys aren't always that much fun, so we decided to give something back to everyone that does, sadly we weren't able to give every survey taker something but I hope that a special giveaway generates enough enthusiasm.

Everyone that partakes in the survey before it closes (in about a week or so) will automatically be entered into the special survey giveaway*.

We have recently modified our rules to clarify what hate speech, racism and xenophobia means. You can find this in the references section (#📜︱rules-and-info message) of our rules.

This includes common "jokes" as "I hate the Fr*nch", "Why didn't you censor the Fr*nch" and "Fuck Fr*nce".

You may get warned/muted or receive harsher punishments like bans if you repeat to break such rules.
I hope this clarifies what isn't appreciated or tolerated in our community.

Sadly when jokes go too far we have to implement these kinds of measures and act stricter.
We won't be punishing members retroactively.

@pulsar ocean and @lean cosmos are working extremely hard on the RSC bot rewrite and I hope they can share all of you some amazing new features they have been working on!

Some things that are on the horizon is server subscriptions ( <@&813056885396602930> , <@&813056957086433330> , <@&813057111608000572> ). We’ve listened closely to all of your feedback and will be sharing some insights about the survey.

Staff applications should be something that could occur in Q1 of 2023 (hopefully).

We've hit yet another incredible milestone, 40,000 members! woah aPES_Party

We want to thank all of you for your continued support and let you all know a bit more about the current state of the server and our plans going forward!

Firstly, we would like to congratulate all the trainee moderators who passed their training to become fully-fledged moderators in their respective departments! They have worked very hard the past few weeks and all deserve an aggressive pat on the back!

Secondly, we wanted to let you know about some changes that we have planned for the server which will hopefully come into effect later this year! This includes, but is not limited to:

  • RSC bot rewrite
  • Marketplace revamp
  • Skill role system revamp

Finally, we've all heard your prayers for another GameJam, and we are happy to let you know that @stone bane and his wonderful event organizer team are hard at work organizing the next one as well as plenty more events in the near future!

This month marks the beginning of a greater effort in RSC to show our support for communities in need and to bring awareness to other cultural holidays.

On June 28, 1969, New York City police raided the Stonewall Inn, starting riots and protests that helped spark the modern LGBTQ civil rights movement. On the one-year anniversary of this event, the first Pride March was held, known as the Christopher Street Liberation Day March. We're happy to announce a skill role rework! rsc

Instead of the old vouching system, we're implementing a new staff team that is specifically responsible for vouches/ranks. How it would work is the user would open a new ticket and state the role they desire with their portfolio, then our new staff would review their work and determine what level role is best for them and provide feedback.

Once your work is submitted, this new team will have internal discussions about your work and what role they see fit for you. To prevent bias, there will be several members of each skill group in this team to ensure the fairest results.

Along this rework, we're proud to announce a new department responsible for the new skill system, and applications have opened alongside it!

🏪 The Marketplace Update Is Here

Since Roblox Studio Community was created, the marketplace has remained the same: a set of text channels to advertise in with a very strict set of rules. This aging format has resulted in issues that have become increasingly more common over the years, and today that changes.

The marketplace has now received a complete facelift with a suite of new features to make your advertising experience as great as possible!

🔨 The Post Builder

Instead of writing free-form text posts, you'll now use a sophisticated post builder. Use the post builder to fine-tune and build your advertisement piece-by-piece. Once you finally have an ad you want to publish, you can just hit the "Create Post" button.

The post builder that you initiate will exist within a thread, and if you want to you reuse an ad, you can simply return to the thread and hit the "Create Post" button again once your cooldown has expired!

This new format will make your ads in the RSC Marketplace look much more attractive, and it's easier than ever to create a post while following the rules now, as the post builder will provide guidance and requirements every step of the way to ensure you don't get in trouble for even the smallest of oversights.

🤔 Show Interest

You can now show interest in the ads you like! Below every ad in the marketplace there will be an "I'm Interested" button. If you are interested in the ad and wish to do business with the owner, you can hit the "I'm Interested" button and a private thread will be created just for you and the ad creator where each of you can discuss business.

Since the private thread is located within RSC itself, this gives you as well as the ad creator an extra layer of security against scams. It also makes the process of doing business much more convenient

The RSC Marketplace is now even better with the inclusion of post tagging and filtering!

📢 Post creators and advertisers

You can now select certain tags for your post. Doing so will make it easier for relevant people to discover your post. To choose tags for your post, go to your post builder and look for the Select Tags button (if it isn't there, make a small change to refresh the preview). The tags you select will apply to future post creations
Example: You are a scripter looking for work. Before you create your ad, you should apply the "Scripter" tag

👀 Browsers, customers, and workers

You can now filter posts based on the tags that post creators have chosen. To get started with filtering posts, go to the bottom of the marketplace channel you're interested in and look for the Filter Posts button. Once you select it, it'll initiate the post filter menu which you can use to narrow down posts based on the tags assigned to the post
Example: You are a modeler looking for a job. You can navigate to #💵︱hiring and filter posts so that only jobs with the "3D Modeling" tag applied will show up

report Message Reports

Today we are introducing the message report system! With this new system, members of RSC can keep channels safe and free of rule-breaking themselves without requiring a staff member to be present in the channel.

How does it work?

Members of RSC that are level 10+ can report messages. A message can be reported by reacting to it with this emoji: report. Every channel has a unique report threshold which is between 1 to 4 based on that channel's activity. When that threshold is met, RSC staff members will be alerted of the reported message.

Report Responsibly

Reporting messages inappropriately has consequences. You can be blacklisted from the report system, warned, or banned from the server. The report system is a tool to keep RSC safe, not for bullying.

Participants will be competing amongst each other in https://discord.com/channels/448986884497211392/1178024797171621979, and the winner will be decided by our chosen judges. The winner will be the user with the highest score from the judges! You may display your talent via screenshare, video or send us the video and we will play it! We will randomly select people with the request to speak prompt. If you are unable to use your microphone for whatever reason, you may dm @thorny hedge if you are chosen (note. any trolling with DMing a judge will result in a warn). The judges can be identified with the visual <@&1178308541451337808> role and will announce one by one your score after your talent! We will give you the option whether you want this public or not

The winners of this event will receive:

A little over 5 months after reaching 50k members, RSC has reached another milestone and is now at 60k members and counting! We thank all of you for your support and interest in the server, RSC's staff team will continue to make the server more safe and fun for everybody.

To support our mission and to celebrate the server's achievement, we will be hosting a game jam that will last until May 23rd (May 20th for development), with a grand prize of $100 in cash, Roblox credit, or worth of Discord Nitro! For those that were not around or were too young to remember, this is the most tragic event in modern American history (and well a shocker to the majority of the world too hence why I find it appropriate to share). These roles show that a user has proficient skills in multiple areas (including any of our skill roles).
To gain access to these roles you must have three other roles of the same level or higher for the given developer role.

rsc Changes to Marketplace Requirements

Starting today, we will begin removing the level 5 chat requirement to use the RSC marketplace, and will be replacing it with a new system that will make the marketplace safer and easier to begin using.

From now on, all that you will need to begin using the RSC marketplace is a Roblox account that has a verified ID or phone number. Over in #🪪︱market-verify , you can initiate the process of checking your Roblox account to make sure it meets this requirement. This process utilizes a Roblox experience we own that simply checks if your Roblox account is ID or phone verified. If you pass this check, you get marketplace access instantly.

This process is incredibly easy and only takes a few minutes, especially if you already have a verified ID or phone number on your Roblox account.

FAQ

Q: Does RSC collect any of my information?
A: No. At no point in the verification check process do we collect or even see your information. The only info we get from Roblox when checking your account is a yes or no answer.

Q: I object to verification for privacy reasons or verification is not available in my region, can I still get marketplace access?
A: Yes. If you're unable to verify your Roblox account for any valid reason, you can open a support ticket and request manual approval.

Q: Will chat level 5+ users still be able to use the marketplace without verification?
A: No. Starting a week from now (1/23/2026), chat level 5+ users will no longer have access to the marketplace if they are not verified.

We're looking forward to this change and the benefits it will bring to the RSC marketplace and community as a whole. The verification check system will become available in 15 minutes, so if you're not chat level 5 yet and you wish to verify for access, come back then.

This person has also been implying that they made it themselves.

Here's a list of some useful information we would like (if possible) when you DM our moderators.

  1. Screenshots of the scammer approaching you about an offer, or you approaching them
  2. Screenshots of what you worked on/while working on something (try taking these along the way during the hire, just in case)
  3. Screenshots of any arguments in DMs after the scammer blocks/bans/kicks, etc

This new event is a 10-way showcase contest between all skill categories! Contestants will have around one day to try and create the best creation in their skill category. The theme is "Trippy". Trippy is something that is weird, psychedelic, hypnotizing, etc. Ten judges from each skill have been selected to judge your submissions.

Our teams have spent a week creating their "energetic" themed games and it's almost time for you to play them and vote for your favorites!

Finale Discord Stage Channel Event:

It has been 3 months since we implemented the "new" format in #💵︱hiring, but we haven't been clear about some of those rules also applying to direct messages. The rule that also applies to direct messages is no free / percentage payments and you need to at least pay 500 Robux or $1.75 USD. The exception from this rule is the <@&870798682671448084> self role (found in #📜︱rules-and-info), you can direct message anyone with this role with hiring offers that offer no payment or percentage payments. If you not follow this rule you can/will get punished. @everyone

Build It Tournament Game Night
At 5 PM EST, we will be playing the competitive voxel building game, Build It on Roblox. First we will play 3 preliminary rounds to see who makes it to the actual tournament. The best 16 players of those 3 rounds will advance to the tournament.

This will be a 1v1 elimination style tournament with 16 total players so it doesn't take too long. If you lose the vote, you're out. Winners will be decided by a community vote in #876141552571920424 at the end of each match. Everyone can vote, even the other competitors.

I've realized that after the ranking system revamp, we never issued a server-wide announcement of how rankings are done.

General ranking division across all categories is:

Beginner (Rank 1️⃣ )
Has shown interest in the subject and demonstrates the very basics. Often learns by copying other examples, but has somewhat of a grasp of what is going on.
Intermediate (Rank 2️⃣ )
Shows better understanding of the processes involved in the subject. May not be able to create unique works, but can put individual touches in. Still needs guidance from more experienced members.
Advanced (Rank 3️⃣ )
Can work independently to create unique works. Shows solid understanding and application of necessary principles underlying the subject, enough to assist less skilled members.
Expert (Rank star_fill)
Has mastered the subject matter to create works held up to be the gold standard in that particular category. Understands the category fully on both a theoretical and practical level. Seen as teachers and authorities on the server.

Promotions will be handled by ranked members in that category:
Rank 1️⃣ - can be given out by anyone rank 2 or higher.
Rank 2️⃣ - requires majority agreement of at least two out of three rank 2 or 3
members, or one rank 4. Member must have at least two separate
submitted pieces of work.
Rank 3️⃣ - requires majority agreement of at least two out of three rank 3 or 4
members. Member must have at least three separate submitted
pieces of work.
Rank ⭐ - requires majority agreement of at least two out of three rank 4
members. Member must have at least four separate submitted
pieces of work.

After a member's work has been rated appropriately, a mod can be pinged to give the role.

But due to the lack of staff members in some of our most active time zones we have decided that this is the best way to go forward.
Moderator applications take a lot of time to make and review, and the trial moderator process is extremely flawed.

Another amazing milestone, 25,000 members! I can't believe we have come so far; when I joined this staff team we had 2,000 members and look at where we are now 🥳
I'm extremely thankful for all the generous members, volunteer staff members (old, current and new) and of course the rest.

Here are some plans/ideas for RSC:

  • Staff applications.
  • Role color adjustments (for accessibility).
  • Streamlined system for suggestions, the marketplace and help.
  • And more™️.

(Most of these are still in their concept phase.)

We haven't done a lot (or any) events lately, and we have been thinking about doing some. Of course we as the staff team have some ideas, but the importance of the community is big (that's why it's in our name) so we really want to hear from you guys. We have a new channel where you can suggest your wildest and coolest (non rule breaking) event ideas, yup that's right it's time to listen to all of you (sadly, I'm just kidding). #📅︱event-suggestions

Hey @everyone, we have an amazing opportunity for all the developers here. You participate in a game developer survey, this survey is about game development tools that games research firm would like your feedback on.
You will be paid $20 after completing the survey (digital gift card of your choice) after completing. The Roblox Studio Community will get $10 for each one of you that complete it, this way we can fund some amazing events. We have vetted this survey and it is legitimate. Make sure you read all the questions thoroughly and don't haste through the survey.
The survey is limited to 300 entries.

Qualifications:
Ages 13+
Must use game development tools at least 20 hours a month.
