I am in the school that completing tasks is already rewarding: you are putting imps on a clock to act. These roles double down and are less interesting gameplay wise as a result.

If the ideal strategy for a role is "speedrun tasks" instead of an interest that competes with tasks that is just boring and in my opinion a bad role.

Im not saying a role designer cant reward task completion. Scientist is rewarded for task completions with battery. But scientist still needs to juggle tasks and their personal vitals and is more interesting for it.

I also think that overall Imp roles are more engaging to everyone than crew roles are.

Imp roles are fun for the imp to play and should provide an engaging problem for crew to deal with.

Crew roles may be fun for crew to play but do not present nearly as engaging a problem to team imp. Imp only needs to kill the problematic role.
