And surprisingly, you didn't see too many trolls in the art channel from what I remember. There were some unsavory fanarts and the occasional vulgar person but it was actually pretty tame

It's quite simple to do, first draw the solid shadow, then, if you have a Gradient Tool, you can set it to "Eraser" and just use it on the shadow.

Do it maybe twice to get a few more tones.

If you don't have a Gradient Tool, you can fill it with a few tones lighter, then blend it.

Also helps lowering the opacity of the layer a bit.

Truth

I think it looks awesome! Maybe what made this animation so annoying for you is all the frames, and the dip downward while they were looking right. You can always start out with less frames and then draw them in later, but it's easy to overdo it with the fps if you're not careful lol

I know about drawing poses apart from each other, still frames basically, then drawing in between frames, I just can't be bothered lol.

I'm a bit better at doing small pixel animations.
