The difference is that someday I will slowly push through campaign and tower while I have a limited time to get to floor 600 before it resets and I start over again. It’s not about the rewards as much for me as it is that I will never complete the event without paying money. That is just how the mode makes me feel.

It's true that you can make more progression in campain and towers overtime but you will likely not be getting closer to completing campain or towers since new chapters and floors will keep being added. As temporal rift is currently if you are able to push more floors due to a better line up you are actualy getting closer to completing it.

It is time limited but all season modes in any game will be, for time consuming is campain and towers really less time consuming when you are trying to push? You can have them on auto but you might have to stop it to make adjustments if what you are trying doesn't work.

I think the biggest issue is that it is the only progression based game mode that they add since the start of the game. People expect non progression based game modes and evaluate anything new based on other events even if they are not similar.

you're stuck at a floor for like a full month, and then you HAVE to climb 100 floors on first day you break through to stay on top of essence gain

Level 100 on day 1 does not get you that much more ressources, it's 6 per day per level so you get maybe 12 more per day than someone starting on week 2. 12 per day is 84 which is not even enough for an extra tree level

Sorry for misunderstanding, I thought it was about the limited time of the event since many complain about that. For timegating like you mention it is clearly a bad design, I just didn't get to experience it to that extent in the first 300 floors. I had some breakpoints where I needed to wait 2 or 3 weeks to progress 20-30 floors but not 100, usualy I can manage at least 5 to 10 floors per week.
