Frontline
Top: Grezhul - Solid Tank, that spawns other minions to take aggro from the opponent
Bottom: Thoran - Tank as well and can ressurect himself once after being hit fatally

Backline:
Top: Flora - Continuous Damage with being able to be recover health. Partially very hard to deal with them.
Middle: Satrana - Burst Mage with immunity to all damage and control effects while her Ultimate is active.
Bottom: Nevanthi - Solid support that can regen health and energy.

With that comp you'll also have 3 heroes of the same faction giving you a 10% attack & hp boost.

I won't mention any pets yet, since it is too early for it anyway.

How can I improve Mehira's survivability? Even using aLyca to prevent her from being assassinated, she still immediately dies no matter where I put her

Put mehira middle, replace alyca with an E mage without equipment. Silvina assassinates mages that have the lowest defense rating. Or you can just use raku charm against the other enemy team.

Yeah you're way under leveled, though that's a good thing. Most people have broken rc when they reach multi stages.

Mehira dies before casting her ult, yeah. Also Raku dies before Mehira does so even if she got her ult off, Raku would be dead

Raku should be bottom back side, mehira middle shem upper. Brutus infront of raku and put barricade on him, rowan in front of shemira

If raku is missing dps, then manual his ult. He loses dps when he ults.
