Also Kyoto Peeps, Kodaji is still doing their nighttime illumination. It’s totally worth going. Go early and go to Entoku, which is right next door. You can get a combo ticket for ¥900 and avoid the giant line at Kodaji. It starts at sunset and last entry is around 9:30, but don’t go that late as you’ll be rushed to walk around. They have a cool light up, projection mapping show on the temple, and a cute bamboo garden at Kodaji (plus a glow in the dark goshuin (red stamp). Entoku has a super cute garden and zen activities like making your own zen garden and copying the sutra (tracing the Kanji). Kyoto is kind of quiet at night so this is also a fun activity after a day of sightseeing!

Kyoto transit is not that fast. It will take you a long time to cross the city and if you did the order it’s suggested you’ll spend your whole day on the bus. You’ll need to plot these on Apple or Google maps and see how long it take to go between then all.

LPT about Japan. If something says it closes at 7 PM, they really mean 6:30 and they actually mean more like 6:20. This will happen with food too. Last order can be up to an hour before closing! So don’t trust Google!

The plane had a ton of empty seats. I already had tickets to Hong Kong, but was 99% sure I was going to go. A day before the flight to Hong Kong, I decided to go. While I was on the flight, I decided to head to Osaka. I think the one way ticket was $200

They charged me extra because I needed to check a bag. Also, because I bought it 45 minutes before the plane left
