#Kyoto meet up
1 messages · Page 2 of 1
Chion and Kiyomizu are also doing illuminations so you have lots of options closer to the central area.
¥800
I’ve never been to Sanzen so I’m hoping to kill the afternoon there then maybe find a snack before Hosen opens. I bet the area shuts down at 4 :/ lots of these out of the way temples assume you are coming by car.
Unfortunately they don’t do goshuin during the illuminations it seems
At least eikan didn’t
What !?!?!?!? I’ve always gotten one so far!
But I was waiting for Eikan to be more red so I haven’t gone yet.
Yes I do! Would be great to get a group together for karaoke if anyone is interested
I’m in, I just assume I might be a little late depending on when you start. I’m at least an hour from downtown once I’m at the temple tonight, but if y’all are doing it, I promise to join!
Botanical gardens has shrine , but it closed before the light up. I don’t do castle stamps but nijo was doing them.
Everywhere else that’s checked I’ve gotten a goshuin and usually a special one made for the illumination! How dare Eikan not have one! It’s free money for them!
Chishaku has a special garden light up this week that’s not in the list.
Shoesei-in garden also has a light up not on the list. I just happened to walk by! It’s super trippy. Slowly changing colored lights on a huge reflecting pool. And really dark too so I’d bring a drink and relax and just watch the light show.
I mean usually I’m looking out for them so I’d be surprised if I missed it but it was such a zoo I wouldn’t be surprised if they were afraid it would create too much of a bottleneck
How long are you in town?
Cool, I’m coming to Tokyo mid December. If they end up having them and you missed it, I’ll grab you one and bring it to you.
Im excited to see the light ups
They are fab and give you a chance to see another temple that you’d normally run out of daylight for, and it looks cool, and it’s WAY less crowded.
That’s tough. What do you enjoy about them? The gardens? The architecture? Unique photos?
I want to be slapped in the face with beauty
Can’t go wrong lol
There's some castles to see too
pichi I think I’ll only have time for either saijo or ginkakuji, which of the two is your preference
Nijo is cooler at night. It’s more like a fort and not a castle so the illumination event makes it go from kinda meh to awesome.
However. Tomorrow there is archery in the cherry blossom garden at 1 PM
For temples, Fushimi Inari is stunning for its red gates. Nothing really else like it.
Kiyomizu is on the side of a mountain. It’s cool looking on its own and the view is spectacular. It’s VERY crowded during the day but they are doing an illumination as well.
The silver temple is not as cool as the gold temple. Heian is not a pretty temple due to all the dirt but the gardens are gorgeous.
Hogon-in in Arashiyama is normally not open to the public. It’s gorgeous at night.
mid December you will still be in japan???? omg
🙇🏻
I usually do March-May and then Oct-Dec here 😉
But I normally play tour guide and bring friends on their first trip here so I usually have company to entertain.
I gotta gate crash in one of those Kyoto trips or Tokyo stays.
Me too. Playing host for people and I’m not even Japanese nor do I speak Japanese very well
@faint marsh I only have time for either ginkakuji or saijo, which do you prefer?
The moss temple for sure. It’s so zen. But you are going for the garden, the temple is average.
For gin, you are going for the photo of the temple.
No one realizes this website is live! You can go anytime almost.
Absolutely get the Goshuin. There are only 3 monks who do it. I don’t want to spoil it but it’s my most favorite one ever.
ok good I was leaning that way
Before your appointment, go here.
You can drink your coffee outside in the bamboo garden or inside in the tea room. Fab.
Then have the herring hot soba here for lunch https://maps.app.goo.gl/MCrPgUfEfbRN8WXT8?g_st=ic
It’s run by all these adorable little old ladies.
If they have a special set, get it. They usually add something local and foraged to the rice. The fish isn’t fishy but delicious.
didn’t realize Saiho-ji needed a res damn
It should be stunning this week. I took someone in October and the green looked fake. Went last week and the colors were just starting to it change.
Oh absolutely. It used to be painful to get one. You had to send a post card!
Wow!
The online system is amazing and went live Nov 1b
Unfortunately I was going to try and pop by today
So no one really knows about it yet. Hence the availability. It is a hard close at 1:30 PM so go as early as you can so you can take your time.
No dice. Totes closed.
There is a temple next door that raises holy crickets. It’s fun too but for very different reasons.
Omg my ryokan here in Kyoto is so nice
I was just gushing in Nov 2023 I can't believe it's only like $50 a night
Im just trying to get my clothes clean because they all smell like eggs from my Hakone trip
what
I'm going to hakone in like 3 days... what
Volcanic areas have a way of smelling
Sulfur
goddang
It really wasn't that bad but I did smell it in my clothes when I opened my suitcase here in Kyoto
Share! Maybe once you leave if you are more comfortable! I’d love to know who has those prices!
Oh yeah I shared earlier happy to again!!
I’m up here now. I did Sanzen. Omg so pretty.
Kodaji is gorgeous.
Rakucho ryokan Sakyo-ku Shimogamo Higashihangi-cho 67, Kyoto, 606-0824, Japan
Chion should be stunning soon. The trees were still green last week and it was still gorgeous.
I haven’t! I don’t think anything up here is open. Just got kicked out of Sanzen so looking for a place to sit until 5:45.
I found a promising place im close by
Although when a place has English descriptions I sometimes get concerned
I’m here right now. Very far north. https://maps.app.goo.gl/AwXHVHZL3pWU9uGfA?g_st=ic
If it’s open I’ll take it
Oh wow yeah ya are
Wait you’re in hosen-in not honen in 😂😂
I don't even know how I would get up there!!
I am not close sorry for the false alarm
Where are you Vance?
And Hogon was really stunningly pretty.
I haven’t been disappointed in a light up yet, but some of were too early for maple but the ambience made up for it.
But I’ve saved some of the big ones waiting for the leaves so this week I will be super busy trying to squeeze the rest in!
I would love to join you for some of them if that's ok pi-chi. I don't know how to get around Kyoto as well as Tokyo. I'll gladly buy us a round or two to say thank you!
If it's a solo thing I totally get it too, no pressure
You are welcome to join me for all!
The monks felt bad for me standing in the cold and let me in early!
Awwww
Oh yeeee
Private show!
Just name a time and place! If I can get there from the train we are golden
I’m still in the ginkakuji area
Oh man that looks so cool
The public transport here is definitely different…
Yeah it's all buses huh???
I may need the buddy system I find the buses in Japan really confusing since they're almost always in Japanese
And I imagine I can't use my suica for the bus?
Oh neat
I was going to hit up the imperial palace and the botanical gardens tomorrow too since they're both by the train
The busses are nice because they’re all 230 yen regardless of how far you travel
Which is nothing
That is nice
Now if only I could read 🥲
Is there a trick to it for non Japanese readers? Like numbers or something?
uh Google maps primarily
I’ve been surprised but they have a lot of workers stationed at popular stops to help advise foreigners
Understatement of the year. I feel gaslit here after Tokyo.
You can here
I wonder if they have trouble making more subway routes because of the old city infrastructure
I also don’t think they want to. People here seem so chill at times.
I guess it limits how many tourists can get to the outskirts
Man my lower back is acting up I wonder if it's from all the new sorts of moving around I've been doing
Onsen!
Oh man
There was a cute lil bathhouse near by
If only I had waited to shower
But I needed to wash the train off of me
Pi chi what's a a good time and place for me to meet you tomorrow?
Does Kyoto really get much more crowded during the weekend?
part of me wants to believe that the abroad tourists are here regardless of day of the week
@faint marsh They charge 4000 yen for saihoji please tell me it comes with a goshuin
It does not. Its extra.
dear lord
Hosen was cute but tiny. Not worth the time and effort and extra bus fair to come here. Also goshuin was hella expensive! 800¥ for a written normal one! I thought I misunderstood her but I already handed her my book Woof.
Would not recommend.
800
Jeez
Saiho was worth the extra charge? I’m probably going to sign up for tomorrow
Yeah. I’m annoyed.Sazen was worth it. This was not.
It’s peaceful and quiet. I took2 people this trip and enjoyed it both times but it’s pricey.
You are paying for the exclusivity and a small number of people.
What is Saiho?
Wait until golden week or new years
Avalokitesvara give you compassion 🙏🙏🙏
Colloquially known as “the moss temple”. It used to be a flex to go here because it was very hard to make a reservation and took months of planning to make it happen. Now you can pay by credit card online 😉
I really enjoyed Sanzen today though so I’m glad I came but I would not make the trip for Hosen and I would not recommend their light up compared to all the others going on.
Anyone up for food?
Dang just ordered dinner I thought you'd be busy for the rest of the evening
No worries!
Though it seems my order may have goooone missing 🤡
Let me give it 15 more minutes and if it doesn't show I will gladly have dinner with you hahaha
Where abouts were you thinking??
I’m getting off the subway in Karasuma which is kind of the middle of downtown closer to the castle.
Welp my dinner has mysteriously vanished into thin air loolololo
Karasuma station?
I can be there in about an hour, is that too long of a wait?
I didn’t have real lunch so I’m starving and I’m going to grab something quick, but I’ll make a real plan for tomorrow evening and figure out a light up and invite you to that 🙂
Yeah let's plan a day for tomorrow then 🙂
And maybe we can round out some folks to karaoke with @mossy urchin
Enjoy dinner!!
Not sure if you are a shopper but there’s a temple sale tomorrow
I mean it's always worth checking out!!
Walking into a random izakaya once again proved to be an amazing experience
There's one by me I'm curious about
Send it
Only have one life
I was in Aomori one time and couldn’t understand a thing anyone said but had the best meal I’ve had in Japan

If I wasn't so warm and cozy in my yukata and dinner on the way I'd pop over
listen to my loaded day tomorrow lol
I have no chill
get up as early as possible go to Fushimi inari
after that make my way to Uji
then leave Uji by 12:30 to make my res at saiho-ji
if I’m not asleep already maybe a light up at night
Wait wait. What time is your reservation!
2
Are you like 400% positive?
They are usually gone by 1:30. But I’ve never gone on a weekend!
I didn’t confirm it yet
you mean the goshuin monks?
It says it’s open until 3:30
but it would be a bummer if they stopped doing goshuin
If you think it’s a concern I could try Sunday earlier
I just checked! Weekend hours are longer!
Also, you’ll get your goshuin done while you are copying sutras. Give it to them first.
Sorry to scare you I just wanted to doublecheck
Never copied a sutra before that will be fun
The first 5 minutes are hard and then you just go with it and it’s very enjoyable
I think my Sunday plan is to hit some temples on biwako before I go home
They were doing a special light up. Not sure if it’s still going on.
I think Naked Garden was involved and I found it in their website.
Will be in Kyoto from 27-4th! Anyone want to meet? I wanted to check out arashiyama monkey park 🙈
I was going to hit up the palace and the gardens by me but I should be done by noon-1 if we all want to start by grabbing lunch
My res at saiho is 2 so it would be dinner for me
That sounds good too!
If you do Nijo, archery is at 1!
Pi how much time do you think I should devote to Fushimi inari
I don’t feel the need to go up to the top
2 hours because you’ll be fighting the crowds. It won’t take YOU that long but you’ll be running a gauntlet.
Are you hunting goshuin?
Do you like cats?
always goshuin
More of a dog guy
I’m more interested in getting Byodo in and Uji shrine tbh
Okay. The family shrines on the “back” do hand written goshuin if they are in the mood. Inari is all paper.
This is ghetto
The right side Is the red gates.
Once you get to that lake they are kind of over.
The yellow side is the “back” and family shrines. Cool photos and some handwritten goshuin. One has cats and the lady who lives there is an artist and makes cool art with the cats and the gates. She even sells Tenugi you can’t buy anywhere else. I love her post cards. Also reasonable prices.
But I’ve never caught her doing handwritten goshuin so it’s my white whale
I see
I wonder if I’m there too early if they won’t be doing them yet
meh if I start at 7:30 I should prob be ok
So I basically hang a left at the lake to get to the good stuff
I got this map in October from one of the nice ladies who sells food on the left. Now I’m hunting for them all.
Wow that’s so useful
I feel like a pirate
trying to find buried treasure
He’s our map
I wouldn’t go past the lake up unless you want to go to the top.
One of the family shrines was definitely doing paper so I skipped it. I got all the official Inari ones last trip so I didn’t repeat. I did get a fire festival one this time but it was too big for one of my smaller books!
My goal is to get pics of the tori and find a written goshuin
This is the cat art lady
aw the kimono cats
Okay, the gates do go past the lake but once you are that high, you almost feel compelled to go to the top. I don’t personally think it’s worth it unless you want all the official Inari goshuin. Then you’ve got to make the climb.
if I can find a written one before making it to the top I’ll stop
you can’t remember where you got your written ones?
Written ones will be on the yellow side at the family shrines. They also have a lot of souvenirs you won’t find at the tourist trap shops at the bottom.
Much better “merch”.
Only on the yellow side are hand written.
And they were hidden. And I had to ask at a bunch of places with my book and got the X symbol a bunch. It’s not well advertised!
oh god
Google translate wasn’t very helpful matching things up to what’s labeled on google maps. inari’s website doesn’t focus on the family shrines on the “back” of the mountain. Only on their own stuff :/
So I could waste a lot of time there
Pop into any stall with your book and they’ll tell you yes or no quickly.
A simple “goshuin doko deska” won’t help
Probably not.
Maybe if I’m really really bored when the illuminations stop I’ll go document the mountain.
I’m sure someone has done it on one of the Japanese goshujn sites but I haven’t delved deep enough to see if there is a google map layer or a better “map” than the one I have.
It’s super abstract.
I guess the mystery makes it more intriguing
I just don’t have time to fully investigate lol
might have to settle for a paper
I gave in and bought one from ginkakuji
I’d rather have it than not, so I get the feeling.
I can always decide not to glue it later
Just makes me think I should’ve bought them all along 🤧 stubborn
I’ve seen some Japanese folks with cool books they slide into but that are pretty. All my carrying cases are from the 100¥ stores
ginkakuji at lwast said “it’s not a stamp we did the caligraphy on these papers”
I was like alright I guess I’ll give it a pass
Justify it how you want temple! I tolerate it when it’s colorful or has gold foil. I get annoyed when it’s just staffing issues.
I’ve seen the ads for shrine maidens. They pay them like ¥1000 an hour and they can do like 30 goshuin an hour so they should hire more!
It prints money!
If kiyomizudera can do written ones there’s no excuse
Looking at u tofukuji, kinkakuji, ginkakuji, the takao shrines…
The takao ones really bummed me out
I visited 3 separate ones
And they’re not super busy at all
I met a priest here in Kyoto on accident. I wondered into his tiny shrine because it was beautiful. He said he can’t be there all the time because it’s just him and he’s too old, so he made paper ones that are like super beautiful, and he dates them and had a box and a place to put the money. But he seriously went out of his way to make them gorgeous.
Jingo-ji had some interesting kakioki at lwast but the rest didn’t
That sounds lovely
He was so nice. He talked about how many of the small shrines are too expensive to keep up and owned by families and they kids don’t want them so maybe in 10 years this city will feel different if all the little shrines go under. Hit me in the feels.
shit
I prefer the little ones
My favorite goshuin is a small one that started creating beautiful ones to try and draw visitors
That’s why you gotta pay up! Aiya don’t complain about 800 yen
🙏🙏🙏
It’s a pilgrimage
🙇🏻🙇🏻🙇🏻
But the special colored ones were only ¥500! No reason the regular should be 800! That’s crazy! Inflation is too damn high 🙂
It’s true
As an FYI, I think tomorrow I’ll hit up the temple sale at some point and then be crazy and walk the Philiophers path and do the night illumination at Eikan-do at 5:30. If anyone wants to join, you are of course welcome! After that, I’ve been craving a burger and this placed smelled good when I walked by;
Maybe a change of plans. This looks so ridiculous that I think I want to go.
I booked it via Klook because the Japanese website is weird. So I guess I’m doing temple sale and maybe archery at the castle or temples near this park. IDK but I’ll be at this place with my sake cup at 6 Pm and I have an excuse to wear my Haori!
Arriving today a bit late, around 1130ish. Staying at Millenials. Anyone going tlvbe oit and about?
Heyoooo good morning all
Going tk the imperial palace and botanical gardens today, then hoping to see some temples and stuff in the afternoon
Holy shit @faint marsh That looks so cool
I will also be there. At first I thought the price a little steep but you get food and sake
So I think I'll follow the route to the Edo town along the train. First gardens then palace then nishiki then Nijo castle
Fit some lunch in there somewhere
Depending on when you're ready to go you're more than welcome to join me at anytime
Ok. I'll drop off my stuff and see where you guys are at
So I'm all done with the gardens. Absolutely worth the trip. Gonna hop on the train to the palace now, then the market
If you liked them, you’ll like the Heian gardens as well. Really pretty right now.
It’s going to be an experience no matter what!
I plan to get there around 5:45 because I assume there will be a queue in good old Japanese fashion. I need to add some layers before I go through so I have to swing back by my hotel. But I’d love to meet there! Also do you still need sunscreen? I have 2 I’m trying out and I can decant you some samples.
You're so sweet! I stilll haven't crossed a pharmacy yet to get some
And I'm so excited for the village tonight
I think I could use some gloves. Like I'm a weirdo my legs never get cold so I'm totally rocking a calf length dress rn and feel nothing, but my handsies are cold
If you want cheap, stop into any 100¥ store and grab some gloves. Names to search on Google; Watts, Seria, Daiso, CanDo.
I’ll bring you some sunscreen to try! I got some tiny bottles so I can pare down my skin care as I go and instead I just keep buying more because I’m a heathen.
Also, there are these amazing heat packs. Some stick to your clothes and others just go in your pockets. I’ll bring you some tonight. It keeps me sane here with the crazy temperature swings.
I have lunch recommendations near the castle!
The owner cooks right in front of you. My lunch set was like ¥900 and the worst part is I was too full for cake and all the cake looked amazing.
This is the brand I like best. All the big drug stores sell them. They get the hottest.
Remind me to give this to you tonight! I’ll totally get because it will be dark!
I’m not sure where to go tomorrow, I’m thinking either kifune, Hieizan, or biwako
Kifune may be past peak. I’d check photos from today if you are going there for foliage.
If you are going for the mountain hike, then by all means!
I'm in Kyoto, staying at the Millenials. Got here early but I'll be here for 3 days
Neat so will I
I’m giving you Hatomugi’s Sunscreen and Hada Labos. My fave is Biore Watery Essence in the tube but I’m trying these out.
You are a queen, thank you
@tawdry tinsel if you're hungry and can get here in time I'm waiting in line for some Michelin approved curry
And with the heat on everywhere I need the extra moisture these ones give me
It's down the block from the imperial palace
And you too are of course invited pi chi
Here by any chance? https://maps.app.goo.gl/wysW7erEP6bMZdsE9?g_st=ic
It’s in my list for lunch next week!
Yaaaaaaas
lol, hell yes!
The line isn't TOO long
Please give me a review!
I will I will
Damn butter chicken curry or shrimp
I'm leaning butter chicken
This place smells uh-mazing
A couple of us are doing this tonight. https://www.toei-eigamura.com/edosakaba/
Yeah Jose the ticket comes with food and sake join us!!
It comes with food and sake or without. You can buy tickets on Klook. It’s going to be fun and weird I’m sure. Otherwise there are a ton of cool light ups happening. You should definitely go to one! https://global.kyoto.travel/resource/global/download/152-pdf.pdf
Kodaji is fab. Hogon is great too. Depends on what side of town you are on.
Tomorrow I’m doing Eikan and you are more than welcome to join
I know me and @jaunty kite have a few things in the books too
Adventure awaits
Seein a lot of scraped clean plates in this place
Jesus Christ this is good
Think I'll finish my errands and if need be go and take a breather at my ryokan for a lil bit
I was going to hit up the market before the edo town
Ok time for going back to recharge my damn phone and portable battery
Hey yall.
I'm resting a bit but would be interested in meeting up if anyone else is
Pi-chi and I are going to this around 5:30-6 https://www.toei-eigamura.com/edosakaba/
@faint marsh Do you think you'll be up for something afterwards with folks? Izakaya or a bar or something?
I might be really toasty after all that sake! 😉
😄 me same
I went to the temple sale. Mistakes were made.
I was given a bag to fill with kimonos for ¥1000 and then because I helped him explain it to all the other foreigners he gave me another bag. Now I’m that person on the bus!
OMFG
Do you want to wear a Haori tonight? Just tell me a color and I’ll probably have it!
That would be so cool! I'm already wearing a trench coat but it may fit over it yeah??
Purple or blue or green are all my fav
I’ll look through the haul when I get back to the hotel and DM you choices.
Bus says more like 5:37 ish depending on traffic. So maybe 5:45 realistically.
Maybe we will end up on the same bus
I'm on the 63 rn
Me too!
Arrived!
I just got off
Y’all, we made the news. 😉
So many people talked to us. We are happy, toasty, and celebrities.
You guys need to stay out longer lol
I’ve had more to drink in the past 3 days than the past 3 months. Time for bed 🙂
Got a full day tomorrow!
Gotta get a nice hot bath in
Also I need to wash the udon broth out of my hair
My Randen train was full of drunk locals who all wanted a photo with me. Japan is so weird sometimes. I love it.
I wanna see a photo
I wanna see pi chi’s outfit 🙂
We just wore Haori I got at the temple sale hours before over our coats but it was a hit with the locals. They thought “oh, look at the gaijin trying so hard!”
Hi, which temple sale was this?
Bless their hearts
https://maps.app.goo.gl/c6e4u39xQ7Lx1Cez9?g_st=ic It’s held the 25th of each month. The locals call it the Tenjin Shrine Flea Market
You can find temple sales here and in almost weekly Tokyo.
I got all my Christmas presents for $10

You legend! Thank you!
Anyone heading to Nara today?
Ohayo! Any activities for very-early risers? Hashtag jetlag. We're a couple blocks from the Imperial Palace.
I'm on my way to Kyoto station and then heading to Nara
For a few hours. Then not too sure. If anyone would like to grab dinner later on, I'm keen
@peak grove I recommend walking around the area by eikando! Most of those temples open super early and it should be pretty empty
Ill be in nara if you wanna meet up for lunch?
Let's do it!
Thnx for the tips!
Yeah or Fushimi Inarii. Basically anywhere with crowds, earlier is better. If you get your shit together you might be able to book the sagano train
Man I need some breakfast
Yeah seems like
I could go for traditional Japanese breakfast or a fat stack of pancakes
maybe I’ll go to Osaka for a few hours
Matsuya has great cheap breakfast. Like ¥300
I’m like 99% having a burger today because I’m craving beef
Maybe I'll hit this up then go the the Inari gates
Do those until I'm tired then recharge for illuminations at the castle tonight and some izakaya
Get that BEEF
I'm gonna eat so much beef in Kobe
There’s beef all over kansai; don’t go to Kobe just for beef
I'm not sure what to do with this advice I'm ngl
I'm going to Kobe should I need eat beef?
Do you have an itinerary for Kobe? We're going for a day this week too.
I'll be there from the 1st to the 3rd
But I'll be leaving early on the 3rd for an overnight in Hiroshima
Then back to Tokyo for a few nights before flying home
Kobe is kinda chill and small. You may want to do a day in Himeji. The castle is beautiful.
Def do the “Herb Garden” in Kobe. It’s beautiful this time of year.
The Himeji Castle English Speaking Guide Group website
These are the English free guides for Himeji. The castle will also be lit up at night, but you can’t go in, so do that during the day and then go again at night for the vibes.
Beauuuutiful
Boy I'm having trouble getting out of bed
I don't want to waste the morning
But weeeh
Maybe market instead
I don't want to wear myself out for castle tonight
I already know I need to set aside way more time in Kyoto next visit
Your pre-drink saved me. I also pounded a vitamin C drink and a Pocari on the train platform but I woke up okay! I also ran into the ninja crew again!
Which market?
Okay, it’s like okay.
I’d do Inari over it because Inari is really unique. Even if you only stay an hour. You don’t have to climb the whole thing. You get the vibe quickly.
The market is just a market. Lots of little shops, lots of food stalls, lots of produce. But it feels like most of the markets here.
Nothing wrong with an afternoon nap or hot spring to recharge!
Also the next big station up from Inari has a bunch of beautiful temples with great color right now if I you feel like you need another dose of nature.
The grounds here are free to walk around. Only the garden is charged.
They have maybe 30 maples around the bell towers and on the approach to the temple. It’s gorgeous.
The Kyoto Museum is next door and they are doing the treasured of Tofukuji so if you like history, it’s worth a couple of hours because the exhibition has all these OG 1200’s paintings, scrolls, from founding of the temple and a ton of gorgeous art. But you should do the audio guide if you can’t read Japanese because the English signage is tiny.
Send some pics?
So pretty! The Heian gardens are lovely right now too.
That looks fake. I love it so much.
I’m going to hit up this local craft market and then walk the philiopshers path for photos. Hoping it’s gorgeous today.
What's a good place to find an inexpensive but not total crap backpack?
I keep running out of room in my purse
Budget?
I ask because you can get a fold up one at the 100 yen shops for maybe 300 yen. It won’t hold up forever but it will get you through a couple of weeks.
I always default to donki
DonKi will have better quality but more expensive. Longer term heavier type stuff.
If you want to spend some cash but have something forever, Montbell is Japanese Patagonia and they have all kinds of lightweight but gorgeous fold up packs.
Or you could always go super Japanese and grab some Furoshiki and make your own bags!
Last night I was using my waterproof furoshiki with some handles I got for 100¥ to make it easier to carry.
Okay, so this tiny market at the Museum of Kyoto is 5 stalls. Do not make a special trip out here!
Dollar store or DonKi will probably be your best bets for cheaper.
Thanks for the heads up!
We did inari and ended up finding a path on the way down with bamboo and throat quiet and nice neighborhood
Around here if people are interested
Does anyone know if we absolutely need to join a tour to go inside the Imperial Palace itself? We thought we could just walk in and look on our own.
The family shrines on the back are the best!
I’ve read mixed things. Some say it’s open, some say open with tour. I’m not sure anymore. I haven’t tried to go recently.
I know today there were special “court events” this morning. Not sure if that changes things b
I don’t think you can go in the buildings without a special tour.
Can confirm you do not need to join a tour for the Imperial Palace but do need one to go into the Sento Imperial Palace
Which is sadly not a Sento as I'm cold af
I posted a list of Onsens!
Matsuya great suggestion
Yeah it was really pleasant and the locals were nice
You literally cannot beat 290 yen breakfast
Sometimes I get fancy and try to make breakfast here and then I realize I spent like 10 times more than if I just went there
And they have fabulous merchandise
I ended up with 780 yen lunch but I got a salad and miso and a big ol negi gyudon w an egg
Can’t beat that!!!!!
Yum yum yum
Thought I looked like an idiot trying to use the kiosk because the English keep going away 🤡
I think my face is swollen from salt and sake 🤪
The salt is real.
Inari crowded but beautiful
It’s always crowded but the weekends are brutal.
I’m on a bus right now and I don’t even have to hold one. We are packed like sardines!
I’m about to make u jealous of these photos
Please do!
Photos without people!
And tell me where so I can go 😉
Gorgeous!
if you’re looking for some recs though I recommend checking out shinzenko-ji and the whole unnyuji area
so beautiful
zenko ji has sick goshuin though
Did Osaka today. Glad I went and didn’t have to make it it’s own trip
I think you either love Osaka or hate it there’s really really no in between
it was fine. I saw the castle walked down dotonburi… that’s enough for me. There was a whole pro imperial japan thing going on that sort of soured the mood for me
Any tips of restaurants that might be open at 3pm somewhat near the Imperial Gardens? Everything seems to be closed/about to close 😭
Whew time to rest up a bit my back hurts
Oo where is that?
ooo good to know! Heading to Kyoto tomorrow 🙂 ty ty.
Is that crab!!!!!
U betcha
3-5 is the food danger zone!
He had other seafood skewers too
I’d search Google by what’s open and then call if it’s a far walk!
Is it bad I wanna try conbini spaghetti
I got back to Kyoto from Nara. If anyone has plans to go out tonight, I'd be happy to join. Just need to rest up a bit. I fed so many deer
The deer are ridiculously adorable.
How’s the red leaves there?
Cuuuute! Me and @jaunty kite were going to see the Kyoto palace lit up then hit up an izakaya if anyone wants to join for any of that
What's the best time for gion? Like can I go after 7 tonight or should I leave it as a day visit?
I'd be interested!
Cool! Were planning on meeting at the palace at 6
@jaunty kite @tawdry tinsel is this spot ok on the eastern entrance?
What do you want to see?
Grabbing a free beer at.my.hostel at 530 and I can head over
Neat. I'm just getting dressed again after my old lady lay down
I was planning on going back to my hotel to check in and take a bath and the leaves were so pretty I just powered through it. Stopped for fluffy pancakes and coffee so I can power through a light up and then I’ll deal with moving hotels 😉
Just waiting on the dang ol bus
Old lady tourism: lie down for a break, waiting for the bus
I got lost im not used to this place lol
On my way 10 mins
Damn why is it do dark here
Just got off the bus
@faint marsh The imperial palace IS lit up tonight yeah??
It dark as fuck
Im right here fellas!
No, I don’t think so. The castle is lit up. Nijo Castle.
Naked Garden is producing it.
It says it's closed on google maps can we still go to see it??
Hi sorry for the late response. Just generally anything. All we know is the buildings but we'll research
Also, highly recommend Gear
We have a couple of vouchers if people want
What’s Gear????
Your best bet to see maiko is late in the evening coming back from their work.
Did y’all make it?
Eikan was wall to wall people. Gorgeous but OMG soooooo mannnyyy people
Kyoto gear is a non verbal theatre performance
Oh cool
Sounds super cool!!!!
I’m interested for sure!
These are the vouchers and we have two of them but I'd have to either deliver them to you or you come and collect them?
Let me look up showtimes and see if I can use them!
Long shot but anyone going to Arashiyama on Tuesday? I'm going to attempt this hike then
https://www.japan-guide.com/ad/gateway-to-kansai/181024.html
My god it's cold 🥶
I was going to go to some temples north of the area maybe
The Cairo hot packs are life.
They keep me sane here.
Really? Don’t you have cold resistance or something
Heat tech ultra warm
It’s a so cheap here. Also look on the end caps. I got a bunch of “last season” colors for half price.
I did one run in h Ginza it was so fun
Might have to get some sweaters and heat tech leggings in Osaka
@jaunty kite you get back ok?
Did you guys make it to the light up?
Yes !!
Beautiful
I need to come back to Kyoto in the late cherry blossom season for like a whole week min
I like it better than Tokyo
And i LOVED Tokyo
Wow great pics
I’ll be here! Let’s plan on it! The light ups are even more amazing with the Sakura!
I’ll be in Kyoto on 12/4 if anyone wants to hang and explore
We are 3 at Kyoto today if anyone wants to meet up! We are near Kiyomizu-Gojo Station right now https://maps.app.goo.gl/1LVHx58K19RUuUuaA
We will grab a meal since we walked the Fushimi Inari-taisha early, but we can do whatever after that ^^
Just arrived! gonna drop stuff off at a coin locker lol
Can’t check in until 3pm 🫠
Hotels usually let you drop luggage off early
Mine’s kind of a ghetto air bnb. The reception desk is a 20 min walk away from my room
👀
How long are y’all in town for? Do you know about all the illuminations?
got everything figured out on my end! Are you out with the group today as well? Bec if yall have space for +1 I’m down for anything 😄
I've got my res with @shadow wigeon at 3:30, and I'm on my way to drop off my luggage rn
But in Osaka
ooo no worries! 🙂
Please send all the crab pics!
I’m at the extreme north west part of town working my way down to Arashiyama and then heading to Tofuki this evening. Tomorrow I’m more flexible!
Ooo okay! I’m like south of kyoto station rn!
hmm we could perhaps arrange something tomorrow? :0
knee’s starting to act up again fml
found south square at kyoto station- there’s fake grass you can lay on and it’s pretty comfy lol
Tomorrow I’m probably going to do south arishiyama and hit up the temples around the moss temple and then Onsen then a light up on that side of town.
@jaunty kite how's kyoto so far for you and have you seen Myron yet
@mint quartz Its freaking stunning here I love it gonna check out Nara tomorrow for a day
@mint quartz Myron came to Kyoto today we still need to meet up ✌️
You get to Kyoto tomorrow?
Anyone wanna eat at nishiki market? There right now
29th
Any suggestions for natural hot springs we could visit in Kyoto please?
Me too
Ah damn, looks like you're just south of where I'll be in Arashiyama. Have a nice trip tho. Moss Temple looks lovely
We don't! We are sleeping there near the station (and involuntarly slept for a "quick rest" of like 5 hours :'D) so we'll be there for the remainning of the day. Tomorrow morning we'll go back at Osaka since we booked the aquarium/teamLab and back to Kyoto to spend the night.
I'll look up the illumination, didn't know about them 🙂
Kodaji is great. All of them are nice. Especially if you didn’t get to see the temple during the day, now is your chance. But go NOW. It’s peak fall! Everyone will be out tonight but the rain might help stave off some folks.
Thanks ❤️
I might start further north. I did the north temples but only 2 out of 4 because they were so lovely I ended up staying so much longer. I have to get an earlier start tomorrow!
Oh neat!! Thank you so much.
It’s all peak so you can’t really go wrong tonight.
Those are temples but I noticed you shared an onsen link too
Sweet
Well in case we cross paths, I intend to be around Gio-ji/Nisonin-ji around 11am-ish, before I attempt my hike to Takao. Brown dude with a beard wearing Adidas.
I went to a public bathhouse 2 nights ago but all the baths were insanely hot
It's not mixed by any chance, is it? I'm looking for one I could go to with my SO
No, you’ll have to book a private Onsen somewhere else for that.
Or a ryokan with a private Onsen in your room.
Ok sounds good. Thank you! You know everything, wow.
The Japanese love to turn the heat on as soon as it’s Oct 1 and keep the Onsen at like 47C!
It was insane
I’ll keep you posted tomorrow on where I am and if it’s worth it!
And an electric bath too.
You gotta use the ladle baste yourself like duck confit. First the legs then the rest of the body. And have a wet cold towel on top of your fore head
But some places turn up the temperature to kick people out and don’t want you lingering forever - aka popular public baths by bus stops
Lol that sounds about right.
Very highly recommend this sushi place omg it was absolutely delicious and fun: Kaiten Sushi Ginza Onodera Kyoto

No wait for a seat
I've found none of the sento/onsen I've been in were hot enough
Then again my boyfriend can't shower with me because it apparently "burns his skin"
New husbando time 👌
I can't handle hot weather but love being cooked in water apparently
I owe you a drink! The light up was LIT and I was the ONLY foreigner! I made the news again!!!!!
Ye down ,
glad you had a blast
I did! I did the loop 3 times to be sure I was getting in all the leaves! Thank you again! And I called a taxi like magic. I feel so legit!
I'm in Kyoto! Anyone want to explore the bamboo forest and monkey area tomorrow morning with me??
Go early and enjoy!
Tama-no-yu

https://maps.app.goo.gl/z8Ro6Ln7frTRtcob8?g_st=ic
Clean, cheap, full of locals, hellishly hot water
I'm hoping to be in the area tomorrow at around 10 to 11am-ish.
Sounds awesome! What light up was this?
You’ll want to do bamboo way earlier than that.
That’s the “exit” at 11 AM today. I was on the bus.
I’ll play the drum game all night!
Tofukuji!
Holy fudge sticks...
Welp, guess I best go to bed now. I'm coming from Osaka...
Nice! My time in kyoto has come to an end. It was too short, I'll catch it next time!
Safe travels!
I went at 7:30 today and there was a decent number of folks
Thank you!
It’s always busy but it’s worse as the day goes on until the light gets rough in there in the afternoon. Then it’s hard to get good shots so lot for folks bail.
Here’s a sample! It was great. They all are right now. The leaves are gorgeous all over the city. You can’t go wrong!
That really is beautiful
If you have your heart set on Arishiyama, I don’t want to discourage you, but you could go further north, avoid the crowds and have an awesome day and still see some bamboo.
I’d start here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/amhkzb6PcuFi32w49?g_st=ic
Walk down towards Arishiyama proper. Visit the tea houses and temples on the way down.
https://maps.app.goo.gl/3QZF64aYN1tGgQUS8?g_st=ic has a tiny bamboo grove of their own!
Then hit this street for fab photos and good shopping; https://maps.app.goo.gl/by322J2gf8m8GfN69?g_st=ic
Then see more bamboo and a great moss garden here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/UzkXLo3LjCjBag8A8?g_st=ic
If you aren’t templed out. https://maps.app.goo.gl/tqUDgeBajAhYom7G8?g_st=ic
Refresh with coffee here; go upstairs and enjoy the view. https://maps.app.goo.gl/qTvRf1QCoNBnFBZk9?g_st=ic
Then hit Hogon’s light up: https://maps.app.goo.gl/qvWLK7vanBpjbZEYA?g_st=ic
Then go relax at FufU https://maps.app.goo.gl/KuMwN2r9DU6UeAGLA?g_st=ic and catch the Hankyu line from there back to Osaka.
You’ll avoid 90% of the Arishiyama crowd, get better photos, and see a beautiful side of Kyoto most people never get to see.
You're honestly such a kind person for the help
My plan was basically
- Get off the South Arashiyama station
- Walk through Togetsukyo Bridge upwards
- Walk to Gio-ji
- Walk through Saga Toriimoto Preserved Street
- Walk through Adashino Nembutsu-ji
- Walk to Otagi Nembutsu-ji
- Hike through to Jingo-ji
- Get the bus back to Kyoto and head home to Osaka.
I don't actually intend to visit the bamboo forest or the monkey park
Reverse this and it will be much more pleasant!
Aka start north and work south if you can make it work!
Arishiyama is sooooo unpleasant right now with all the tour groups.
You’ll also be going downhill which is way nicer!
Hello cool stuff about Kyoto
It would be cool to stay in touch here, and get more Kyoto tips from ya
And I’ll take you and others for a drink or 2
Deal! Bring on the umeshu!
I’ll check out the shinanoya and get some quality umeshu. How about Nama zake
This will be friggin fab! The leaves are GORGEOUS!
I heard you got blasted with @terse sleet
We had so much sake and I didn’t realize it
@heady wave stop by the sentoo too
Such tiny cups but they pack such a punch!
Hmmmmm, if I reverse it then it will be a 2 hour a journey on train and bus just to get there. I dunno if I can handle that first thing.
Though granted going downhill is better than up
I’d say let the crowd dictate. You might see it and want to be on that bus.
But if you are early enough it may be tolerable.
Not blaaaasted
Blaaastee
So what bar is still open rn and vibin? We‘re 3 ppl and just moved from Beer Bar Mamiya168
Starting my journey now! Thanks so much for this itinerary! I'm gonna follow it! Haha
Anyone gonna be in Nara today, me and @pearl nacelle are on our way
Where can I buy local gifts that are not crazy overpriced? Like handfan, and those spinning tops that flip and spin on their handle - so cool
Kyoto is genuine culture, thanks for supporting the Japanese economy 🙇🏻
Hello all,
Anyone planning to be in Kyoto from 12/4 to 12/7?
Lots of coughing and will be masking up today lol. not about to be raw dogging the air 😷
Before I cancel it, I have a reservation at 12-1 at Enkoji temple. They are not very strict on the time, just that you have the email. I’m nursing a headache from the weird pressure changes yesterday and just can’t. https://maps.app.goo.gl/Cv4mQy2w2rQWJCq96?g_st=ic
Damn that heart plaza store is closeddd
Hope you feel better soon!
Sorry to bother you @faint marsh but do you have similar store recommendations for Tokyo or Osaka? Like small items etc or handicrafts?
I don’t, I’m sorry, lots of places I liked didn’t survive Covid and I haven’t found their replacements yet
No worries!
How’s your adventure going? I got a super late start so I’m at the coffee shop I recommended because I think it’s about to rain on me.
I got there at 8am to the top temple and walked down along your route. It was so beautiful. I was surprised to find every temple had an entrance fee. But it was fine anyways. Then went to the bora ical garden. Now heading back to my hostel to rest a bit.
Didn't go into the bamboo forest since the other temple had some!
And skipped the monkeys because I've had enough of that species in India hahaha
Yeah, temples usually have fees. Shrines are normally free unless they are big big tourist draws.
I wound up just going early. Still met lots of crowd on my way to the hike path but the hike itself was amazing. I'm just trapped in Jingo-ji right now waiting for the rain to end. Amazing place to be trapped in though
I was going to walk to Gio-ji nexg because it closes first and then hit Jingo.
Glad your hike was fab!
I’m waiting for the rain to stop in a coffee shop. The weather app on my iPhone is so terrible. I felt the pressure change. I can’t believe I left without an umbrella or rain coat.
It says it’s sunny! It LIES
I was half thinking of walking back to Arashiyama but in all honesty, I'm probably gonna go home from Takao because I'm tired and have low phone battery. It's a shame we couldn't cross paths.
It took me hours to get to Jingo from Gio so it might get dark during your hike. This was my first hike though. Small obstructions made me panic throughout 😂
Are you going to hike it? I'd be scared shitless hiking in any level of darkness but then again I've never done it...
At least the weather is cleared up now
No no, just visit the temple.
Oh, in which case we might cross paths after all. I'm just chilling at the temple for an hour, maybe two.
Btw @faint marsh word of warning, Google maps says Jingo closes at 4pm.
In case anyone is curious I posted my iterinarary on reddit. Tomorrow will be Day Ten
https://www.reddit.com/r/JapanTravel/s/CT80wBZ5fy
Sorry @faint marsh but I'll be leaving soon. It's absolutely freezing out here. Don't recommend visiting now. You won't have time to do the plate throwing.
Ty! I’ll go tomorrow AM!
Send pics please!
So pretty. My fave ryokan is in that area.
Also, Chion is doing a light up if you want to do that tomorrow night instead of the next morning.
Son of a bitch...
So many temples with light ups. I'll see if I have time
Was trying to give you another day time temple slot 😉
This is so stunning! Whereabouts in Kyoto is this?
Takao. I hiked from Arashiyama.
Here's where I got the hike from
https://www.japan-guide.com/ad/gateway-to-kansai/181024.html
It was a really great hike
I've been trying to find some hikes to do while I'm there! Thank you so much!
I’m at the Daikakuji pond light up. I don’t recommend it. You can’t walk the whole pond. Better light ups elsewhere.
Hi everyone! Any good tempura places in Kyoto I should visit for dinner tonight?
All the ones I find on google say huge queues 😫
Spend that money
It’s g
It’s like the kyubei of tempura. Little pricey but gaijin service satisfaction guaranteed
If I arrive in kyoto like around 1-2 is it worth to hit some tourists spots or would it be too packed
Is there anyone in Kyoto today who could help me out? I’m unable to withdraw any cash… debit card is unfortunately expired and my credit card gives me an incorrect PIN error despite being certain it’s correct. Is there any chance someone with Paypal could take could take out cash for me? I’d send of course the amount in USD + some extra for the trouble… Right now I’m staying near Omiya station but could meet near Kyoto station.
How much cash do you need?
I’m only here for 3 more days, so I think 6 or 7 thousand is enough
I’m in your area (between Shijo and Gojo) and I’m running some errands right now, but I have cash on me.
What’s your itinerary today?
I’m at Arashiyama now, I expect to be back in the afternoon sometime, maybe 5 or 6? but I can be flexible
And be extra generous 😂
Truly a Kyoto Kami 🙇🏻
I was heading to south arashiyma (near the moss temple) to hit some temples and then im@going to KiyoMizu’s light up tonight
could we meet up here in Arashiyama? when do you think you’ll be here?
you would be lifesaver lol 🙏🏼
This is the closest I’ll be to the madhouse https://maps.app.goo.gl/DeH6cVmNi4wcZvS48?g_st=ic
I’m traumatized from the last few days of having to walk through the area. I got caught in between 4 Chinese tour groups and it was unpleasant to the max.
lol I gotcha. I’m at Arashiyama station now. if you’ll be there soon I’ll head down there
My goal is to be here around 4 to get to the other side of town. https://maps.app.goo.gl/uddubqMPoLo9Mo4fA?g_st=ic
I’m still running errands (aka the post office) near Shijo.
Send me a friend request and we will cross paths today.
I want you to enjoy your day.
Worst case I’ll meet you this evening after the light up between Omiya and Shijo. They are walking distance to each other.
awesome, thanks so much. could totally meet there at 4 but yeah let’s see. also it says you’re not accepting requests, maybe you can add me?
I just added you as a friend.
I just watched GEAR in Kyoto. It was pretty cute.
Did you get your money sorted
We were actually like steps away from the same coffee shop and we met up!
Whoa cool
Kismet!
yeah shoutout to you, you’re my (japan trip’s) hero
Vxyr just happened to do a hike that dropped him near my favorite coffee shop in all of Kyoto!

Hey! I just got into kyoto does anyone wanna get food later?
Unfortunately I just ate at Mo's Burger so that's a no from me.
Was a nice burger.
I got the spicy burger and it wasn't even remotely spicy
But still nice
Where ya located you hoooser
I could eat
I'm just depo ing some stuff back at my room I'll be down later
@mint quartz currently at golds by chohoji temple
Wanna meet around there at 7?
Or i can come somewhere let me know
I'm down for w/e haven't gotten back to.my hostel yet but I'll msg you when I'm read 7 seems good for now
I'm in shimgyo ward
@elfin lynx is like 30min from me
Wanna meet here?
looks interesting. pity i ate not that long ago otherwise i would've been down haha
Ok but give me a few cause I gotta the bus
Like 40 min I'm heading
@mint quartz how far out are you?
Cool I’m chilling outside
Theres kinda a line
Down to go somewhere else but ill wait here
Anyone have a hostel that has like a share pile or free to a good home shelf? I have random stuff that I don’t need but would feel bad throwing away (example; needed a battery for my toothbrush, need one, have 3 left, tour said to bring headphones, but they provided) so just little things but I hate to toss them.
@mint quartz I owe you a drink! How long are you in Kyoto?
Haha leaving kyoto for osaka on like the 1st
Can you give me some tips for morning hike i only got 2 days cause today was wasted cause lost my wallet
Tryna hit somes before tourists and groups converge
If you scroll up a bit, @heady wave did a super cool hike between 2 awesome temples.
He used a Japan Guide article and said it was fab.
@inner mantle did a cool hike today from near the monkey park and coming out here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/3Bf8kMDfypMep6cs6?g_st=ic
Both are on the western side of Kyoto. You have to hit Arishiyama at some point but both of these avoid the main tourists crowds and get in some gorgeous scenery.
And if you don’t want to “hike” as much as have a pleasant stroll and stop a lot to see temples and drink tea, start at this temple via the bus and then walk down leisurely stopping at whatever looks cool and you’ll eventually end up in Arishiyama. Also don’t miss the temple light ups!
I highly recommend Kodaji. @inner mantle may have gone tonight and have the latest photos. I went like a month ago and it wasn’t red yet but still cool.
And at the end of your hike, go here to relax in the hot water. https://maps.app.goo.gl/4nDJYzevsw5LK72PA?g_st=ic
@mint quartz tips tonight after 1 beer
I'm planning to do this hike in arashiyama tomorrow, anyone wants to join?
It’s going to be fab! I few people have done this in the last week and all enjoyed it!
I'm also considering kurama to kibune hike in the next few days, added bonus of the maple tunnel train https://www.insidekyoto.com/kurama-to-kibune-hike
I did this. Take the free walking stick. Trust me.
What time are you going tomorrow?
9-10 maybe? I'm open to anything
One side is stone steps. One side is wood steps that are uneven and lots of roots, so chose where you start based on your own knees 🙂
Yeah ok wanna hit like 1 illumination spot
Down, lets meet up in the evening. Anyone is welcome as well.
We can see some monkeys? I’m down wanna meet for 10?
Recommendations; Kodaji if you want a temple and garden light up experience (I think is the best mix of both!) Nijo Castle Naked Garden if you like art installations
Eikando if you just want to see red leaves at night.
The buses are harsh at times.
I avoid them and take the subway as much as I can and then walk.
The 203/206/207 is my worst nightmare. They are so packed.
Thanks! Will do. How packed was the train?
Last day of koyumizu dera illuminations, I went last night. Very crowded but very pretty.
Yes! Monkey park entrance at 10 am tomorrow, see you there!
Down for w/e u guys decided
It wasn’t bad at all!
All japan declining young population must be in kyoto rn
Let us know where you guys are headed and I'll try join
You’re down for whatever?
Some place with food and drinks preferably
Yeah sure
Just gotta be near an illumination place if possible idc which just wanna see one cause tmw I'm going to osaka
@faint marsh Any recommendations?
Kodaji, Eikando, Nijo, are all fab. I’m doing Kiyomizu tonight because I’ve been trying to avoid the area 😉
Kiyomizu probably gonna look gorgeous it was breathtaking in the morning
Packed af tho
Beauty of man Made with the serene background of nature
It’s a gorgeous temple. I always tell folks to go even with the crowd because it’s really pretty!
@mint quartz wanna do kodaji?
Yeah sure
Yeah makes you feel in awe of man and earth
Idk when that illumination thing starts
If you collect goshuin, the limited glow in the dark one at Kodaji is at the entrance!
Wanna grab food at 7 near there and head over @mint quartz @gusty crest
Say less
Yessir
I fucked up I left my book at the hostel in tokyo and kyoto
Paper one cool too
SOON™️
Kyoto gonna have all the scenic and colors you'll want is gorgeous
The glow in the dark one is paper!
Haha I just went home to rest change and pick up my book
That's OK
I have a lot of papers
The book I bought only has one stamp cause I kept forgetting it
It happens. Paper is cool too. You get to do arts and crafts. I used to do tape that looks like a white out thingy, but it ripped one of my papers and now I’m a glue stick girl. I found this blue one that turned clear so I can see the edges easily and not make a mess 🙂
Hello. I'm in a bit of a problem. Does anyone think they can call me a taxi? I'm stuck on a highway because the route I was expected to hike was actually closed
Oh shit
See my real-time location on Maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/MnTX5EWtQbpvF9Qw9
Uhh I can call but I can't speak japanese
What's your English ish location I'll try calling and hoping they speak English
Hold off for now, I think I can just walk it
I have a taxi app. I can try but I’m not sure if it will@work since the location of my phone won’t match
Gl
If you can’t let us know
I'm good. I eventually got to a bus stop. On a bus back
@elfin lynx ayo quick question do we leave at 7 or arrive at 7
Cause I just looked it up it's 57 min away for me lmao
Which makes no sense
Cause I was literally just there today and it felt like 30 min
I'm heading there on bus gmap says 7 17
Yeah down
Make that 737 sir I got on the wrong bus have to walk back to the same station
Me dum didn't look at bus number before getting in
Yiu can pick any place
No worries brotha
This place beside the temple
hey i won't be able to make dinner but i'll try and meet you guys after for kodaiji
Is that place long line or no don't want you waiting outside in this cold
