It's going to be weird as you get to the higher levels, but generally non-squires won't be producing nearly as much build/xp in comparison to your squires.

You can also have goobers working on the nooby cog achieve. It's best to keep rolling cogs since sometimes a yellow for me can pop up with better xp than my purples.
