The only way I have seen this work in other games is by offering a "free" version which is purchased with ingame currency but has half the stats. A 40% mount becomes 20% or even a 24 hour timed one for a lesser cost. It's a lot of work though to program half boosts for pets and I doubt people would accept it either. If bundle pets can be earnt for free, the incentive is slipping away unless its bolstered by another ridiculous piece of clothing/acc buff
