no way, unless you can reclaim it from the quest, or lava makes an update, where if you didn't slab an item obtained only through a quest that you can't repeat on all char, he makes it count for the slab

the only reason it's like this is because they let it stack up without upgrading. if you're going for maximum rate, you should be spending asap
as more rate levels will mean faster liquid gain which gives more rate levels
