do 1-2 exp traps on each char with vman on highest critter you have unlocked
fill the rest from BM/WW, trickle all critters or focus on the critter you need for quest or both
rush blobbos asap so you can set up a blob exp + critter trickle rotation, checking once or twice a day or more if you sweaty
blobs to turtles takes a long time re-setting traps isn't really worth it until then

and your shiny chance is based off a base number that gets a bunch of shit done to it but eventually is hit with the trap multiplier

if that isn't 100% you might not get the shiny but you'll get like 70 if you do. a longer trap will make that much more likely to be 100%

eventually you reach rates where even with max prayer every critter is 100% shiny rate but eh

it's just not to get mad at myself if i check 20s once an hour lol

This recipe should be gotten as soon as the task of beating nightmare Kruk on all characters can be completed.
