mana regen is something that is always useful and should be pumped. health stops being meaningful once the enemy gets to around the 5k-ish attack range? bjorn and the others may be able to comment more accurately.
once you get seeing red and the cyan dmg per 100 upgrades, the focus should actually shift to attack over health since you won't be able to scale to meet the enemy squad any longer (rely more on dodge than being able to take 2 hits). generally i saw success for red/cyan battles when my attack (account for full seeing red buff) was about ~10% of the enemy's HP

I was just gone for 5.5 hours and checked back, and my Mage characters are getting about 10 xp per hour, but everyone else is getting about 5 per hour. Shouldn't they all be getting 10 xp per hour?

!mantra is also... okay to use but typically just when you're trying to get your last 1-2 people to 40 so they can unlock TranQi, otherwise you typically want to use a style that gains points, too, because god blessings are very strong

Mantra works a bit differently compared to other Divinity styles. The gains of having all ten characters on mantra will not visually show up in neither afk info screen nor afk claim screen.
In order for your characters to get their fair share of shared exp, you start by first claiming the afk time of a mantra character. The game, upon claiming afk mantra time, will then calculate what should be sent to the rest of your characters. However, that shared exp also does not show up on the remaining characters afk claim screen, but it does get added to your divinity exp bar none the less!
The easiest way to make sure mantra is working for you is to claim all afk time on all mantra characters, and watch your exp bars on the rest of your characters go up.
(Shared exp from the bubo's lab talent also works the same way! Gotta claim your bubo first to let the game know how much exp should be shared)

atom collider bonus doesn't do anything for increasing chance. it's just a safety net so you don't fall back to 0
if you are level 14, trying to hit 15, the recommended encouragement is 3 mails
of course, I'd also wait to bank up some mail to hopefully get you back to 14 if you fail and reset
