2 is the minimum. When you want new shit yoh can push for longer but if you see the "days" thats too long

2h is reasonably doable for all but the last 3 islands (although reasonable depends on your playstyle).
Up to you if you wanna roll the dice sooner at the cost of a longer round trip time.

If we use a lazy-math 1 minute per cycle, and you want a rank every 12 hours, you need to rank up in 720 cycles which happens...

Without actually having the formula (just assuming you make about 2.5 times your rank per cycle), I came out with similar numbers, so none of those breakpoints should be more than like 20-30 ranks off (Id guess)

though other calcs are definitely more reliable than mine, lol
