after this I just gave up, the game is fun but it has long stopped being an idle game. if you want to get anywhere you needed to be playing a lot and i just realized how much time all the extra stuff the game makes you do takes, the TD takes hours, setting up traps and samples can take hours, hell even making gear for people can take time if you make for every person you have. The new characters force you to be active on them to do anything and if you don't you will fall behind because they are broken in what they can give you. It just all adds up and you always have to click your cogs and plants if you want progress. I'm kinda sad but it's also liberating realizing I now have time for other things instead of focusing on this game for most of my day. I know this isn't really the channel for this but i kinda want to get it off my chest.

I don’t mind the game having some pay to win elements my whole issue is time or money isn’t respected anymore. Back before world 3 the only real pay to win thing were the cauldron upgrades and the anvil. Sure you could buy inventory space and such that’s totally fair to make money off of and the premium hats and the cosmetics totally fine. Daily teleports and mini game tries etc. And even then the gem shop absolutely affordable but then world 3 came along and was much higher priced, even buying more the price scaled and you didn’t know that until you start buying. It was so high and enough people complained he even reduced the price and refunded gems for the premium cogs. And now there’s the fomo limited shop, all the gem shop pay to win things scale in price the more you buy, the introduction of slab making it actively harmful to your account to not spend with each update. Then there’s all these gambling, gacha and rng based progression mechanics. He was so adamant about making the game not pay to win and the whole reason I got into this game felt the gem shop was balanced and priced really affordable but from world 3 onwards he’s just got greedier and greedier

Honestly my initial reaction to companions was "huh, neat" because I viewed them as just one more thing I'd eventually collect all of. The game doesn't have a leaderboard or a PVP element, so it's not like you even can "win" idleon. Some stranger on the internet theoretically progressing faster than me doesn't really bother me. What I hate about companions is what it's done to the community, and how it's made me question the longevity of a game I've happily played for years now.

1. loot capacity. sailing artifacts are main w5 progression
2. w5 skill xp. you'll be sitting on divinity for a while, and skill levels help so its good to get it started early
3. respawn. portals get huge in w5
4. boss armor. recommended to save 5 points in preparation for boss armor, that way you'll be able to unlock all the pieces without having to do additional tasks
5. tab4 talent points and star talent: you might be low on elite tab talent points and stats when you're new to w5 but there are other sources. you can prioritize these over boss armor if you're not confident in crafting later armor

reach level 50 with no kraken towers. i had 1 kraken tower and at lvl 50 i got the achievement... wanted to be sure it was not a bug where i got the achievement but not the bonus as i had not correctly met the requisites
