Yeah this is a general sentiment I feel really icky about their stance on. I don't remember where exactly I heard it but I remember hearing someone say that accessibility benefits not just those with disabilities - but those without (in a good way). I think the devs need some equity training lmao.

If you don't want to use text option, turn the box on and drop it. You don't need to actually use it to get a response. The game will failsafe it essentially and force a response after some time (if the ghost has that evidence ofc).

This collab was AWESOME and I really like how the event works. Obviously, like so many others, I'm also very relieved that this game with a bunch of fixes to the issues that started last week. Especially server connection issues in both solo and co-op.

I want to focus in on saying I love the puzzles, I wish you could re-listen to the pages from the puzzles you've solved and adds to the manuscript pile on the desk. So the ghost can event in front of you from anywhere provided you're on the same floor (iirc). Then it would theoretically choose to wander from that event location either back to its room or roam. If it chose to roam, there is a chance it would pick a new room - in which case the rest is bad luck. But the frequency is questionable. Ideally a situation like that would be very rare.

Well there's been a few times where particular ghost behavior was tweaked or implemented and they said nothing. They've actually forgotten to put stuff in patch notes before. The banshee is a great example. Literally no one knew it couldn't change rooms for like forever.

I also got some equipment left on the floor that magically disappeared and reappeared in a multiplayer game. It's as if the items were still bond to the other player while changing items in their hands. The fact that you cannot turn the flashlight on and off while recording is also annoying. Lastly, you can trap other players in Coffee World if they stand at the same spots of the decorations when you switch lights on and off.

It's hard cause you don't want everything about the ghost AI to be known, since that makes the game easier - but by not disclosing everything, the playerbase is very in the dark and left on their own to figure it out. This leads to confirmation bias and so on.

I mean, just read the journal - none of the ghost descriptions are helpful... At all.

So I think they spent a very long time reworking the maps for the events - which takes a lot of resources. They also knew they would have to do the cosmetics update with the event because duh - that's what the reward were. But I think they did not realise that animations needed to be added until later on. Maybe because adding cosmetics without animations would make adding animations far more difficult later. Couple all that with the fact that the QA team is either not present or understaffed, they likely pushed the update without the even to let the playerbase test it instead. I think they grossly misjudged how complex animations would be and did not account for them in the time line.

All of this is probably a mixture of over confidence and lack of experience. Phasmo has chronically been late on release dates/timelines - if you've been playing as long as me, this is no surprise. It's a mix. Stability issues are the main concern here. But they tried to make animations work without actually making sure they worked lmao. This lead to functional problems with mechanics like smudging and using equipment, field of view problems and readability. It also completely ruined VR. So it just wasn't at all player friendly.

yeah I'm pretty sad about the update, my partner and I basically bonded in phasmo and now I can't really do much everything is so small and there isn't much I can do about it. in the past I couldn't see the cursor in the middle of the screen but could put a tiny sticker on my screen to know where the middle is and then they added better cursors which made me happy but there isn't much I can do about how far the character holds the EMF reader etc and I can't read on it
