The reason why it’s such a massively discussed topic and the word ‘unplayable’ is frequently brought up is because it is, in fact, unplayable for a good chunk of the player base. maybe you just have luck. out of 10 games in MP i got disconnected in 10 of them. flashlight sometimes is stuck in my hand. the insane fish-eye effect with the items far away give me a headache. the animations are floppy and broken. i encounter bugs again that got fixed YEARS ago. spirit box is broken and unusable in t3.

this is only a small part of things. and those are being repeated by many people in here since the update released.
everything combined makes the game unfun and unplayable.

Mic not working at all I have had occur for a number of friends on PS5, but for whatever reason, only a complete device restart worked. Messing with audio/just restarting the game did not.

It's probably more of a case of trying to calm an angry person. If an angry person is venting, and a mod tells them to stop, or stay within the rules, they may lash out at them. I don't think anyone would come in and just start bashing the mods out of nothing. Attacking the mods is still not the right thing to do. But you have to understand that sometimes it's a delicate situation, and you could be putting yourself in the line of fire, if you come off too forceful.

High school has been around since before the 3 tier gear update. Big maps back then were pretty empty. But I hope they consider line of sight when they rework it. Also putting room numbers above the door in HS would be a godsend.

Prison is another map in desperate need of a remake. There's a lot of simple fixes they could make to it too, like adding bits that block line of sight in the open areas like the cell blocks and dining hall. And also changing the ghost room to individual cells, and stopping the middle ground of the cell blocks from being able to become a ghost room.

was playing grafton with friends. upon arriving in truck, one friend had a “text chat” pop up on his screen in game and that he couldn't leave the pop up or move. he said that it was like a text chat with everyone else in the game that he hadn't seen before. i was under the impression that the game does not have text chat. eventually, i opened my journal in front of him, and it fixed it. he was able to leave this text chat bubble and actually play the game and find the ghost with us. once we found all the evidence (nightmare), we wanted to ask the ouija board what the ghost's age is to rule out a thaye. my friend's voice recognition was not working so i gave them instructions on how to change it in the gameplay settings to text. coincidentally, at that moment, all four of us in game had our journals open. the ghost then started hunting. three of us that were in ghost room died, and our friend who was upstairs with ouija board was able to survive. when i died, i got the text options for the ouija board on my screen and i couldnt leave the pop up. my friend that survived was able to leave in the truck for us. it was just a really strange string of events but the text chat thing is what is the most weird to me.

After this update I hope the heads will roll for the entire QA team. It is nothing short of ludicrous that the dev team have not laid out their understanding of why the update was bad, and how they plan to avoid a screwup of this scale into the future. Step one would be the erasure of the QA department and its full replacement, as a start.

Basically the game went from solid 90fps in VR, to unplayable at 30 with hitching and artifacting. Flatscreen, after lowering graphics settings I can run at a shaky 60 with hitching on the newer maps, down from a rock solid 60.

The only good changes were in the basement and the fact that you can see through the closet doors. I like the general style better than the old one, I feel that the kind of older feel makes sense for the map, but besides that it's a meh rework at best. The new looping spots do not make up for the old ones. The only good one right now seems to be the basement, the new dining table is generally a worse kitchen counter from the looks of it. Overall? Meh at best.

The biggest problem I have with the new maps is an old problem made worse. Vision. It's much harder with how dark everything is. My game is effectively at 400% brightness and I still cannot navigate some of the new maps without lighting.

But the rest with tanglewood, is they got rid of reliable hiding spots, and they reversed a bunch of door hinges which irritates me to no end after playing the original for 5 or so years.

I’ve been screaming this since the update happened. I’m a new player (started last Friday) so at first this chat was so amazing. Then it got so negative and overwhelming. I get it though but what is not acceptable is the cruel remarks about anyone who disagrees and remarks about the devs. At the end of the day, we are humans who make mistakes. It will get fixed. I have faith it will be an amazing game for everyone soon.

I think it's good for people to express their disappointment. It's deeper than just a buggy update so of course people want to express that. Even so, people should be able to express their feelings about it. It seems overwhelming because everyone wants to say the same thing, so if you're reading it as an outsider it feels like everything has been said. But those individual people feel disappointed and want to express it. It's already much less volatile now than it was before, and people will move on. Ofc there's people who take it too far and get really upset in chat, for that I agree. Honestly the mods of the server have been really accomodating to people's negative opinions which I appreciate, there has been good discussion amongst the noise in the past few days.

I just checked out the update. Multiplayer wise not optimal, too laggy most likely. Playing solo really was not bad, though. A small lag spike here and there, sure, but nothing unbearable.

There's a few things with the animations that I don't like, like when you switch items it takes a second to see what you're holding, which is confusing in a game like phas when you often switch your loadout. They plan to change it though so I'm waiting for that
