Go in to a custom setting so you don’t lose your items. Set your sanity low. Could even make the ghost slower and/or your speed faster. Practice without the worry of losing your items. Then adjust your settings so that eventually you and the ghost are both normal speed. Have an incense on you so that if it gets too fast, you can smudge and run.

keep it to medium hunt duration so on small maps its only 20 seconds, will be much more survivable. on ridgeview the dining table is just the right size that if you practice it enough you won't need to smudge at all, even on long hunt duration

If you're too far away, events may not happen often or at all. It's better to be close to/in the ghost room

On smaller maps, you can pretty much be anywhere and still encounter ghost events, but when you're playing on the larger ones, you need to get closer
