Getting faster at the whole process is the real way. Your income is dictated by your own speed.

Focus on learning the game. The more you know the smoother levels will be. Play the hardest difficulty you can do reliably and fairly quickly. Avoid dying above all else. Once you hit lvl 50 Custom unlocks and you've got tons of options for grinding XP.

What works for me is when you get at least 3 pieces of evidence, start checking which evidence crosses the remaining ghosts off. Which ever evidence does this, you know is not going to be it. Then look for the 4th piece. Using this method along with characteristics and personality of the ghost has helped me get it right every time.

Like I said get 3 pieces of evidence and check which left over evidence on the list crosses off all ghosts. The ones that do you know will not be evidence you'll get on that round. Then proceed to look for the 4th one. Also knowing the characteristics and personality of the chost helps to narrow it down

but you're gonna want all of your evidence gear eventually. You could even take trips from the van to start, open the door the first trip, and the ghost room will be a little colder

If you get three evidence you don’t need to cross off anything. With the evidence there should be only one gist left on the list.
