well you can‘t get deogen below level 30, so it‘s probably intentionally made easy to identify and survive

imo it should be the opposite, you shouldn‘t get deogens after level 50 or so

since they should teach beginners hiding is not always reliable

Hiding is easier for beginners. So they give them 30 levels to learn hiding, then you need to learn looping/smudging for deos

Find the hiding spots, have an incense and lighter in your inventory to escape from the huntign ghost, conserve your energy as your sprint is quite short before you're out of breath.

What I recommend is watching YouTuber tutorials, and or going to #lfg-(whatever region you are) and asking somebody to help teach you, if they’re not toxic and don’t grief they’ll show you the ropes and get you better super quick

Some ghost will not respond, and that’s fine, the issue is, if you’re using t1 equipment you have to constantly be checking the temp, the t1 spirit box has a three meter range, so if it wanders or is on the opposite side it won’t work, what I recommend is using the temp, setting up dots or motion sensors, and then trying it

if the ghost doesn’t respond after multiple tries go to your journal, click the spirit box evidence it’ll show up with a x, then click it again and it’ll cross off, eliminating the ghost that require spirit box

Take it slow. I play solo and it is first quite terrifying, but gets easier the more you play. I usually start with flashlight, emf and thermo. Find hiding spots, turn on a few lights (not too many) and find the ghost room with the thermo or by listening for interactions such as the ghost throwing items.

The tier 1 thermo is quite slow, so stay in a room for a while before looking at the next one. If you see your breath fog up or the thermo is below 5 degrees celsius, you have found the ghost room.
