The cheat sheet is a companion more so than a replacement of your memory or skills. It's also helpful because not all mechanics in the game are told to you, or even hinted at that well

Is there a lot of hackers in phasmo public matches? Yesterday i found someone who held the main door down and filled all the photos with unique music box pictures, all objectives completed and even "the right ghost" even when we got it wrong, and the main door stopped working after they left

We had a cheater on Sunday who kept starting and ending the match faster than we could hit escape and exit. We had to Alt+F4 cause as soon as we spawned in, the door was already closing and going back to lobby, where we would spawn and immedietly go back into game

I'd agree to a point absolutely - I've been vocal on a dynamically expanding journal. After X number of times of getting a ghost right, you get extra/different notes in the journal as to what that ghost does

Like the current journal would more or less be the base version: rough descriptions of what the ghosts are like. Then the more you correctly identify them, experience abilities, etc the journal starts to show more accurate and detailed info

Sure, the mechanics of triggering the expansions could be a lot of things. Just so long as it accomplishes allowing players to explore and learn on their own without spoilers, but also provide a solid backstop for how they work.

Let's use the Onyro as an example

Base

The Onyro fears open flames and will do what it can to remove the source of them as quickly as possible.

1st Upgrade

The Onyro fears open flames, but will get increasingly aggressive the more they remove. They can blow flames out quickly.

Final

The Onyro will attempt to hunt after 3 flames, and can blow them quicker than other ghosts.
