I was told today that you only hear a myling as you see lights flicker around you at the same time. I. E. a flashlight. If you hear moaning or footsteps before flashing. It's never a myling. Is that pretty accurate?

Yes. Both the flashlight range and the mylings audible range are the same so it’s the most reliable test for a myling

Honestly? I think the only ghost type I absolutely refuse to loop no matter what is the Phantom, probably. I get so nervous when I realize I'm up against a Phantom, or a Thaye, Revenant, etc. Phantom's the worst though.

Yeah, crouch looping is the best place to start, imo. TW or Willow Street's kitchen counters are the best practice there. Once you get used to crouch looping you can get used to looping while standing up.

Is there a passive sanity drain set in multiplayer? Like even in light?

We ran some games in grafton last night, and even went to the point of never leaving the light as we all searched the favorite room, but by the time we did find it and went back to the truck, we were all at 50%

I will say again that at no point did I leave the light during this with 0 ghost events nor ghost sounds (in case of a Moroi)

Not all lights prevent all the passive drain. I think the lights in some hallways and big rooms only prevent like 20%. Not sure how it is with grafton

with an Onryo, if it blows out a third candle, and there's a 4th candle lit, since the third triggers the hunt, will it cancel out and blow out the 4th requiring it to restart its 3 blow outs? I was looking at some stuff and wanted to verify. but could it go out of candle range and start hunt if it didn't blow out the 4th? and with every player killed, does that make it so it can hunt after 2 blow outs? then one blowout? Idk just wandering?

yeah once 3 are blown out it will try to hunt, but if something blocks that attempt, like another firelight being lit nearby, it will keep trying and won't reset the counter until it gets a successful hunt attempt in (hunt or crucifix burn). so anything past 3 if the counter doesn't reset will try to trigger a hunt. then, say the ghost blows out the 3rd candle in the middle of a ghost event, it will WAIT until after the event to try the attempt. or, say it blew the third one out while it was under a 90 second smudge timer, it will stop counting and defer the hunt attempt until after the smudge timer is over and should try to hunt at exactly 90 seconds using the ability

i think the only ghost that can do anything during an event is mare (mare ability)

i still prefer the 20 second rule for onryo tho

Honestly. The 3 candle bit is a cool way to identify the onryo. But ever since I knew about the onryo blowing out the same candle out in quick successions, I've never really needed the Cruci x Candle trick.
