Very often when you wanna smudge a ghost, you're in a hiding place, and you want the ghost to go away. The T3 smudge stuns the ghost in place, so it won't walk away, meaning once teh stun is over, it just kills you because it can still see you

It has a radius that it can detect the ghost in. It will beep and look at the ghost (and follow it?) Until it leaves the radius

Oni because it's easy to loop, since you see it all the time, pretty much. Hantu because it's also easy to loop since it never gains LOS on you. Just make sure you're in a decently warm room and it'll probably never catch up to you.

I tend to misidentify the ghost more often than dying. When I die, it's usually cause I decided to loop the ghost and was dumb enough to forget my lighter, or the game just delays it and even though it shows on my screen the smudge is burning, the ghost still violates me. It's either that, or I did something dumb, like not reacting when I hear the groaning and getting jumped instantly, or I just die to some random mistake I make.

Is beating Apocalypse 2 without rerolling for a Deogen a sign of being good? I had Apocalypse 3 settings but the ghost and player speed were normal, sprinting was on, and hiding spots were set on medium, with 4 second grace period. The ghost was a Thaye.

Well, I did it gradually, Apocalypse 1 first (was a Goryo, 45 minutes long game), then Apocalypse 2 (Thaye, like an hour or so game), and I've attempted Apocalypse 3, but not beaten it, yet. My best attempt was against a Revenant, I only had 1 objective and the photo left, but unfortunately, it started a hunt before I was able to reach a hiding spot.

I had deviced a plan to be in the Manager's Office with a smudge, Crucifix on my feet and a T3 Parabolic Microphone in hand. I got bored and decided to scrap that, thinking to myself there was no way the ghost was a deogen. That was one of the most embarassing mistakes I've ever made in Phasmophobia.

It won't work if the Crucifix is in your inventory, though. You have to hold it or place it somewhere within range of the ghost to work.

Not necessarily. Keep a crucifix with you at all times.

If you have grace period on, which I think you do, you'll hear some crying or groaning-like sound that indicates the ghost will hunt any second. Listen to how close it is and use that to determine if you must move (assuming you're not technically in a hiding spot) or you must stay, if the ghost blocks your path to "real" safety. It's best to run to any hiding spot that's available, though.

If it fails, the ghost will retry every 30 seconds, and so the cycle repeats until it reaches about 20 or so years of age, I think.

Outside of Apocalypse, T1 is almost useless, only time I use it is if I don't have the better ones. T2 is better, but it's still eh. T3 freezes it for 5 seconds, which is ample time to run away if you're on normal speed.

The only factor is you haven't done high school so it will be a bit of a learn and it is a walk. The ghost can't hunt and you get your 3 evidence so you just have to find the ghost

The ghost can't hunt in this challenge so you'll be fine. I brought a parabolic, thermo, and flashlight with me - flashlight was to drop in the hall so i didn't lose the room. It's a walk but I usually just walk the halls listening on the parabolic and seeing if the ghost opens the door to its room, then thermo to confirm. Just don't forget the breaker

It’s only Insanity that doesn’t have cursed objects (outside of the apocalypse presets).

Although, if you have it unlocked and want levels a little faster I’d suggest playing Intermediate, it’s literally the same as amateur but you have less setup time, which really doesn’t matter.
