Holy smokes the feeling of accomplishment doing my first run of nightmare after learning how to tell quite a few of the ghosts apart getting emf 5 and spirt box, struggling to get some of the tells for like sperit and the dyan and Galla ( the two new ones) and twins wasn’t getting many interactions. gets hunted, incensed, hid, heard fast footsteps, grabbed another incense got hunted again incensed, slow footsteps then still struggling to tell if it was just me getting the Galla enraged or the twins footsteps, grabs vodo doll, spams it till cursed hunt, fast footsteps again figured twins left, it was twins and the feeling of like the learning paying off was on another lv, specially since I managed to get a perfect investigation.

I’d suggest personally as someone who’s only been playing for a month or so but has learned a fair bit, don’t worry about trying to speed lv for higher tier gear at any point, take it slow, watch a video or two on tips and tricks then maybe watch a video or two on things specific ghosts do, don’t try learn them all at once just try pick up a thing or two play a few games then try and pick up another few things as you go

Like the audio recorder you want to be hearing something like laughter or talking but with the parabolic you just have to point it in a direction to hear it you’ll have to keep it over it for a second or two but essentially just pick it up every now and then do a slow spin around and just see if you hear anything

The parabolic can hear though walls but sadly throwing stuff dosent count for hearing paranormal sound, you specifically need to hear it do one of its audio cues, wether that be whispers laughing talking or in the case of a unique audio with the banchee a scream as well as you’ll have to be in range of the audio too, tier 1 is 20 metre range, tier 2 is 30 and I don’t know bout tier 3

You've got to make sure that after the salt pile is disturbed that you actually hear footsteps. Ghosts can disturb salt but not continue walking afterwards thus not leaving footprints (assuming it has UV evidence).

Repel is the one that requires a smudge. Escape just needs the ghost to see you and for the hunt to end with no one dying. You'll still get the objective even if the ghost disappears right in your face.

Just play and learn, dont even worry about gear yet since you dont have tier 3 gear. But only take what you need

You want to find the ghost room as quickly as possible. When you spawn in, go open the door to the house, campsite, etc. but don’t go in. Go back to the truck and bring key items and throw them in the door. This will allow the ghost to spawn and start working his magic without you losing sanity. Once you have items at the door, go in with emf and temp. Look for any sign of ghost activity - items out of place, emf readings, lower temps, and noises. Hearing the ghost throwing something or turning on a radio is a great indication. Once you’ve identified the ghost room, start bringing in other items to ID ghost - video, ghost book, UV light, spirit box, dots projector. Then learn what you can and can’t easily eliminate as evidence. For example, if the ghost throws the ghost book without writing in it, you can mark off ghost book.

Use vid cam to identify dots as it'll say ghost if there's dots place writing book if it throws and no write rule it out

in the beginning I used to mark out evidence too quickly, I learned to be a bit more thorough. AKA checking for UV and Spirit Box multiple times.

Also orbs, orbs are so annoying now. Don’t always catch them right away.

For Wraith, you can create a circle of salt outside the ghost room, then sit in it with an emf reader
A Wraith will hop on top of you with EMF2 without disturbing the Salt

But you can just as easily drop salt and see if it disturbs it during a hunt
