it's because the polti can use it's ability when the lights are on and chuck things. it can't do normal interactions with the lights on, same as every other ghost

If you don't get Writing, DOTS, or EMF 5 as evidence, always double check for Mimic (UV, Spirit Box, Temps, and orbs)

If lights are flickering, front door is locked and electronics are all messed up it is a hunt. if the ghost is just standing still then its probably an event

A good rule of thumb I've learned while playing Phasmophobia is if it throws the writing book, it'll never write in it so you can automatically cross it off on your evidence list to help narrow down what ghosts you can guess

The mental gymnastics are insane but it's not that deep, a lot of people make up stuff from experience in this game, for example the mare can/can't turn on pc/tv and they can be wrong because nothing is set in stone and I have had (along with other people too) ghosts throw stuff even with the lights on

Only happens if Mimic is copying a Yurei, which is the only ghost that can touch the front door normally (via its ability). However, Yurei doesn't have UV and Mimic does, so only Mimic can leave a handprint on the front door.

Events will also drain 10% each (20% for Oni) and your time in the dark may have been different. Or if there was a really big polter bomb, that could do it. I remember playing with a new guy, we figured out it was possibly a polter, then it exploded in the game room of Point Hope, knocking all the chess pieces and more everywhere. All our sanities dropped like a rock.

That’s their standard hunting sanity. They also have an ability to trigger a hunt at any sanity.

As another example, Yokais can hunt at up to 80% if you talk near it.
