One issue that makes Phasmophobia’s multiplayer feel dead (even when people are playing) is AFK hosts in public lobbies.

Because the lobby browser often only shows a few rooms at a time, joining a lobby where the host is AFK feels especially frustrating — sometimes 1 out of 2–3 available rooms is completely inactive. When the party leader is AFK, that lobby is effectively unusable.

Suggestion:
Add an AFK timer only in the pre-game lobby (not during investigations).

How it could work:
• If the host has no input for ~3–5 minutes in the lobby, show a warning
• If they remain inactive:
• auto-transfer host or
• close the lobby
• No AFK kicking during contracts or gameplay — lobby only

Why this helps:
• Makes the lobby list feel more alive
• Reduces wasted joins
• Improves first impressions for new players
• Helps veterans who rely on public lobbies
• Low risk, high QoL improvement

This is a standard feature in many multiplayer games and would go a long way toward improving Phasmophobia’s public matchmaking experience.

I’ve completed every challenge in Phasmophobia, including Apocalypse III, and at this point the game just feels stale. Updates are slow, and it doesn’t really feel like the developers listen to the community much. There’s nothing new to work toward, so doing investigations now feels more like a chore than something exciting. That’s the frustrating part, because the game has so much potential, especially for longtime players who’ve already done everything.

Phasmophobia can have hundreds of thousands of active players, yet the public lobby browser only shows a few rooms to choose from. Most of the time those lobbies are AFK or dead, which makes public multiplayer almost unplayable. On top of that, player levels are all over the place, so experienced players constantly get matched with brand-new ones. There’s no proper filtering or variety in the lobby system, and it makes multiplayer feel stale and outdated despite how active the game actually is.

Hey guys, I’m playing phasmo right now and I’m having a lot of trouble trying to get a third evidence. I have dots and ghost orbs and the ghost is crazy active but no other evidence is showing. I’ve been in the van for 40 minutes waiting and she just occasionally throws stuff

She threw my notebook and walked through the salt but no uv is showing

I’m very new to the game and I’m usually carried by a much higher level friend but today I’m playing solo and I’m at a loss

Are there any specific signs I can go off of to rule any of the ghosts I have out? Like if I was only doing a two evidence run what could I do to help narrow it down?

Wait I smudged the room and harassed it on spirit box until she spoke to me! So now how can I rule out if it’s a mimic or just a flat yokai?

In a normal sense saying that you would want that done is one thing but trying to speak for everybody is another. You don't know how the process works you don't know how hard it is for a bug to be fixed and you don't know why it isn't fixed yet It could be down to waiting for unity upgrade or another fix thats in the works.

Is the room host the only one who can update the tiers of items on a truck? I upgraded to tier 2 UV since my buddy(room host) upgraded tier 2 EMF but we can't get the UV on the truck to be tier 2? Yet, he(my buddy) was able to get the emf in the truck to be tier 2?

That's bullshiz. Who thought that stupidity up. Especially when tier 2 upgrades cost $3,000. Me and my buddy started playing the game together. You can't really upgrade all tier 2 items by level 18 nor by 23. Easier to split the effort but with him being room host makes the game even harder since apparently I can't update the starter items. Just lovely. Good to know this game has another crap feature.

$35 to buy an item. $3, 000 to upgrade an item. Just straight ludicrous. These devs are out of their fing mind. Should be $1, 500 at best especially with how many items are in game.
