You usually need to be out of the room for the shade to blow it out, but if it is close enough to a wall near an adjoining room it could blow it out from there as ghost can interact thru walls... just in my experience and interpretation

for the freezing evidence, what you generally want to see is that the temp is settling just above freezing but not going lower, to have a good feeling you're in the right place, but it's (probably) not a freezing ghost

if the ghost is out of its room a lot, such that you never get close to 1C, you really can't tell one way or the other

If you're playing on Amateur, the breaker starts on, so the house is already warmed up, and freezing temps can definitely take a while

Is there a known issue with the Ouija Board? That is twice that we have tried to use it, it has not responded, but has drained our sanity. This time there was a daily for getting a Ouija Board response, and both of us who tried it got the reward even though we never got an answer (and the board broke and killed one of us). This time it happened in Woodwind, last time it happened in the Prison.

how does incense work?

Grab lighter/matches
Grab incense
Right click near ghost.
If in same room out of a hunt it will slightly increase activity and the ghost can not hunt (again) for 1 minute 30 seconds, 60 for demon, 3 minutes for spirit. !!this is a minimum they can all hunt far after the minimum!! The same applies in a hunt you start the timer as soon as it is hit ( not always when you press activate the ghost must be in range)
In a hunt the ghost will now be blind to you for 5 seconds, 7(.5) seconds for moroi.
T1 just makes the ghost blind wander for those seconds.
T2 slows them down a bit also.
T3 stops them fully.

yeah, I'm on MAC and can't tell how much of my audio issues are mac related vs game being weird.. It will work like half the time recently. Sometimes in the middle of the match things will start working again. it is odd. My fiance is on linux and has seemed to be fine for her though. Which feels super weird considering both are ran through emulation layers. We make it work by just using discord for all our mic needs, and use the in game text system. only problem with that is.. you can't drop the spirit box, and use it on the floor while holding record on a sound recorder for ghosts that like to be alone.

Just played a game on high school intermediate. Ghost room was a bathroom. Spread salt all over ghost never walked in it. Thermometer laid there for ages gave 10 degrees. Stared at dots for 10 mins, nothing. Turned out to be an Oni which has freezing and dots

Thaye will periodically check if you're in the same room. If so, it will age. It's not a set length of time and if you're hanging out away from it, it won't age on its own.

it's however you have mobility. some people's mobility is easier to move with a controler and others with keyboard. there's no one that can answer your style of play

long ago played among us and fall guys controller but that was forced. didn't care for it. small hands makes it hard to grasp and hit button combos properly and quickly. just try both and see which doesn't give you as much frustration. I know there's no drift problem on keyboard (continue walking/strafing after letting go) generally after long use. most wasd movement is best on Kb anyways. general consensus. GL!

Hi 👋🏼 not sure if I’m in the right channel, but I’ll shoot my shot. So, I just got the game on Xbox, first time player. Playing on Solo, how are y’all leveling and making $$? I’ve done 5 different investigations between the two starter levels and I’ve died everytime. I’m either not getting evidence fast enough / or at all even if I’m in the ghost room.

For example: my latest hunt. I found the ghost room almost immediately and set up the video camera, DOTS matrix and ghost journal. I was able to get evidence through the ghost moving the camera while I was in the van recording, and then I got a recording of it writing in the journal. But that’s it. EMF never went over 2/3, black light showed nothing, no response to voice box, nothing shown in DOTS matrix, and the temperature never dropped below 10. So I marked off the ghost writing but I can’t figure out what kind it is. (I also can’t figure out how to guess and finish out the level and leave). Ghost hunt started and even though I ran to the closet and closed the door it still killed me.

Similar experience through enough investigation whether it’s the house or the restaurant.

I know I’m doing this wrong and it’s getting frustrating.

go to the channel of your region and check for games, or host

something that imo helps a lot is just use the night vis camera to see in the dark instead of turning on lights one by one and searching for the breaker
quickly look in all rooms for ghost orbs, if you find some, they will always be in the ghost room, if not, you have a piece of evidence to cross out
cursed mirror and ouija board are useful to find ghost room and other info but will drain your sanity very quickly
lvl 1 temp sucks so only use it when you absolutely cant find the ghost room
after you find it set up all your equipment (ghost writing, dots projector, emf reader and video cam) try talking to it on the spirit box (with all the lights off) and use uv light on doors, windows etc. to find important pieces of evidence
periodically check temp to see if there are freezing temps
NEVER cross out evidence too quickly, be patient and double or triple check as to not miss anything and guess the wrong ghost type completely
play on small maps, like tanglewood, learn the layout and the placement of cursed objects
learning how to loop ghosts will give you a big advantage and larger chance of surviving
as always if you are a beginner dont rush and enjoy the process of figuring out the game

So, funny you mention that. I’ve started going room by room with the EMF and being able to determine the ghost room pretty quick with that. And then I’ll set up the NV Camera with a dot projector next to it and the ghost journal kinda in front of it. Turn the lights on and open the doors and go back the van to observe the camera. That’s usually where I have been getting my first shred of evidence. Then I’ll go back in and usually by then the breakers been flipped / at least the lights turned off. That’s where I get stuck because nothing usually happens beyond that except some stuff moving around.

I did however, make the mistake on my second investigation, and you might find this funny, because I’m still learning controls. I had my first and only ghost hunt that I recognized, I jumped into the locker and was hiding. I was planning on making a dash for it when it stopped so I was pulling my flash light out but accidentally activated my ghost talk box and panicked and hit “what’s your name?” As it walked by the locker. I died lmao

Being a phasnophobia partner is quite hard, you've got to make a youtube/ttv chanel and be quite populair. I don't know the exact requirements but they don't give it out like it's nothing cuz being a partner has some insane benefits
