I must say, I was a little surprised seeing that date
not that there are no old-school diners left, but I expected like a 1995-ish kind of date

judging from the newspapers, the diner incident was only shortly after the camp and high school incident as the papers suggested those would resolve and re-open soon, instead of becoming permanent deathtraps

then again, it's a registry, so it's possible the diner has been abandoned for one or two decades and the internal clock has just been ticking

Whenever you unlock larger maps go try them out! And as long as you are having fun, keep increasing difficulty. I find Professional to be a good sweet spot to learn for harder difficulties. Less wait time for the ghost to do things, and all evidence provided while you learn how the ghost acts

Is there currently a bug with ghost throwing stuff in lit rooms? In multiple games on several maps, I've had ghosts being in a room (motion sensored) and throwing things in a room where the lights are on (such as the basement on Tanglewood) and the ghost was NOT a poltergeist or Mimic.

I even made sure to light all adjacent room lights just to guarantee it wasn't throwing or interacting from nearby rooms in spite of the motion sensors.

In one case the ghost was a Deogen and in another it was an Oni.

Is this something you have noticed? I'm fairly certain ghosts aren't able to throw items in lit rooms, unless it's a Polti using its ability.

I believe the technical thing is that ghosts can only do EMF 2 interactions in the light (outside of events) and a throw is EMF 3.

I used to think so, but I believe it's very intentional. Mainly to get people comfortable with all the mechanics.

Same reason you won't get a Deo before 30.

If custom was too low, you'd have people basically just playing "Friendly ghost" or "Lose nothing" endlessly and never really get to know the game and learn.

And while that's on the line of player agency, it's also robbing said player of the intended game mechanics.

Yeah those are original trophies aren't tied to unity save so you delete your original save it is gone

The ghost room was well below freezing (It was the only room the ghost was active in), I turned off the breaker but the ghost still seemed normal speed
I assumed it was a Jinn because it wasn't hunting frequently like the Demon
But I ended up guessing incorrectly. It was between a Demon, Jinn and Hantu. I chose Jinn but it ended up being a Hantu.

all crucis have a range. If the ghost attempts to hunt inside that range it burns the cruci instead of hunting.

you can see the range if you place (not drop) it on the ground. But in terms of effectiveness it doesn't matter which you do.

Ghosts are constantly roaming they can easily walk out of the range of the crucifix and start a hunt The only way to be protected in a hunt is to wish to leave with the monkey paw or for five seconds with a incense

The deal with Twins is that it's a single ghost, but it can spawn to hunt from the location of its last ranged ability, when it does this, it only checks for cruci where the ghost physically is, so it can appear on top of a cruci to hunt as fast twin.

I can never get the ghost right,I got it right once and it was a hantu but it’s like….everytime,the ghost refuses to give me any evidence no matter what ghost it is,it refuses to interact with any of the items I leave for it no matter where I place them,or no matter what other interactable items i put in the room,i can’t stay in the room either cause no matter how many i place the crucifix’s don’t seem to work even though I know the ghost is in range,only ghost I ever got right was hantu,anyone got advice?because this is seriously starting to upset me and ruin the fun.

Horror 2.0 was said that they will likely get to changing ghost models and animations. So if ever it will be around then. Especially because a big goal of the devs is to remove all or most paid unity assets with the devs own custom ones.

I recommend getting more practice in amateur for a while, standing in as much light as possible, and run towards any noise, thrown objects, and apparitions with all of the relevant tools (particularly EMF and SBox)

@willow rain for example,like…I had a obake a few moments ago and I found the ghost room,so I had all my stuff that I check for first,the video camera,thermometer,and emf,wasn’t getting anything for 15 minutes,so I figured why not grab some stuff from the truck real quick,I went back,grabbed salt and a crucifix and a uv light,placed the crucifix down and stayed close to it just in case the ghost decided to be on top of me when it hunted,I placed down salt and waited for 10 minutes,it started the hunt on top of me and then I was dead,there were no other signs,stuff like this happens to me everytime and the tier 1 equipment depending on what gear it is does not help lmao😭😂

Another tip, patience! Leave the vidcam in the ghost room facing a DOTS'd area, and then camp out in the van for a while!
You should get some bonus videos for money, a chance to get ghost orb, and DOTS!

And fun fact, the vidcam itself being thrown counts as a video!

There is ALOT of mechanics and information to learn in phasmo.

My suggestion if you are newer is to simply enjoy the game and be open to learning through failing. Maybe bring a friend that you can communicate information to learn.

If you have been playing a while and dont feel you are still learning, playing with someone who knows a little and can nudge you in the right direction for mechanics WITHOUT heavy handed taking over doing things for you might be good..

But if your only goal is to immediately know everything and not worry about fun.. best of luck.

Ahhh, then it's time to learn ghost quirks and behaviors to further narrow down ghosts! For example, Mares will never turn on lights!

Imo I think Training should bring you another menu where you can take the current Tutorial (Training), Advanced Tutorial (Like blinks and forced evidence) and then finally Practice (Lose items and consumables off, reg games (you cannot change games you can only choose current difficulties (including challenge) but you don't lose anything and you don't gain)

Tier 1 items have a smaller range so it’s harder to get evidence. Using a motion sensor is useful for things like spirit box. Use the spirit box on top of motion sensor when it goes off. And dots try to put both dots down to cover as much of the room as possible.

Is it true that Yurei’s can NOT move doors? Like ghosts will touch them and sometimes close them. But can they only close doors?

• All ghosts can turn breakers off except for the Jinn (expection overloading the breaker with too many lights)
• All ghosts can turn lights on except for the Mare
• All ghosts can turn lights off
• All ghosts can fully close/open a door. The Yurei MUST do this they can not do a partial.

Yureis must always fully open/close doors, but they can still choose to slam it or move them gently.

The ability also extends to other things like the fireplace doors or specific cabinets (ex: Point Hope).

The lighting is broken in VR. has been for a few years and im pretty sure thats just how the game is in vr now. just way to dark, The new dinner map even has a interesting bug where the moon itself reflects off certain surfaces inside the freezer. so ironicly that makes it easy to see.

They've had a pretty consistent schedule of 2-3 months between updates/maps recently. I've been following the trello pretty closely, and my guess is that we'll get the reworked Tanglewood sometime around early February and then the Unity 6/Player Character Overhaul update around May. Then Horror 2.0 probably in October, with another house rework in between
