If you're refering to speed, you can set the speed lower in the cheat sheet. I think slow and steady is like.. 50%? I could be wrong though.

I don't remember the exact location, but in the main lobby (Not in a singleplayer/ multiplayer match) look for it in the settings. Make sure is toggled on. If it is, check your network to see it anything is being wonky

find the room, take sanity pills if you're low after that, quick trip in to set up equipment

first 10 have unique badges then the next 10 have the animated versions of those badges

Ghost itself is the limiting factor. The change to temp drop speed has always been that nerf i hated.

i find that if you know how temperature works you can almost immediately find rooms the ghost has been in with T2/3 thermo
if you know the thresholds for what your therm should show you at ambient

in heavy rain if a room shows me 7.8 before i even have the breaker on i must be close

similarly right after the breaker goes on 11.1 on T2 in heavy rain means no ghostie here

Also, if you use Celcius and it drops below 1C, it always will be freezing temps

so each weather has a specific temperature
e.g. heavy rain is 8, snow is 5, blood moon is 13
breaker off, every room creeps towards that temperature, or starts there if the breaker starts off
T2 will read the exact temperature of the room or anything up to 3C higher
T3 will read the exact temperature of the room or anything up to 2C higher
whichever room the ghost is in (favourite or otherwise) will go down, quite quickly, faster than the breaker can warm the room
so on a T2 thermo, with no ghost (mecahnically impossible, but in theory) in heavy rain and with the breaker starting and staying off, every reading in every room will be between 8 and 11
if the reading is below 8 the ghost must have been there to cool it down
if the reading is above 11, the breaker must have been having more effect than the ghost, which very early after turning on the breaker usually means the ghost's not there at all

I personally look at it like scratch offs. 1 in 24 but that's vs the entire player base. I feel there's a set order but when you have thousands playing, that order falls like so which makes it random for everyone in a semi equal way. but that's just perception
