I wasn't agreeing with Naz, fwiw. More employees cost more money, and more expansion could sometimes not return on investment. Naz made an argument of "why not stay small so the insane profits are for fewer people" or whatever.

More people means greater profits are possible, and a dedicated dev team that focuses on the product more than the money don't necessarily care if they are rich x1 or rich x10. If you have a passion for the job you do, you don't need to be rich x10. Rich enough to continue doing your passion is all you need.

But more hands on deck (so long as you manage things well and don't make risky decisions) is almost always a good thing.

Are you using Tier 1 items? They are generally a bit harder to get your evidence, but as you advance you'll get better items. Also ghosts usually do interactions quite often but you may not be around for the EMF5 ones. I'm not sure what the % chance for an EMF to be EMF5 with the ghost having that evidence, but sometimes you just get unlucky and miss it when it happens or the RNG rolls non-EMF5 when a ghost does an interaction.

Nope, it MUST hit EMF5. Once you get more skilled you can often get a clue that it might be EMF5 on the EMF board in the truck, but that's definitely harder to learn to read than just using the EMF reader, as a beginner.

Different EMF values mean different types of things. Ghost events are 4. I can't remember which are 2 vs 3.

That's not how that works. An exchange rate is an exchange rate; it fluctuates over time, but doesn't care what product you're spending it on at a given moment. If Settlers of Catan is $50 USD, and the Phasmo board game is $160 USD, that's a x3 with a rounding variance. Whatever Settlers of Catan is in your currency is x3 less than whatever the Phasmo game is in your currency.

Higher levels of difficulty? Like amateur vs intermediate vs prof, etc? I'd say just keep practicing and unless you like to explicitly learn by doing, you could also watch some youtube vids. I'd personally recommend Insym but I'm biased as a long-time viewer of his. I learned how to play Phasmo by watching him, and actually learning how to read the activity chart in the truck is how I found him.

I play on Professional 99% of the time, but I'm quite comfortable playing no evidence, no sanity, etc. But I play Phasmo with my husband and he's way more creeped out by the game than I am. I learned to play solo, so we play professional just so we both can get the most out of the game. 🙂

Make sure the videos are recent! He's been streaming since the start of the game and putting vids on youtube, so older content will be outdated. Have you done apoc 1-2 yet? I'd recommend doing them first to get the hang of it, unless you like going in sweaty. 🙂 That said, if you did already get 1-2 or like being sweaty, you need all 3 objectives and the correct ghost and a ghost photo.

Tier 3 headcam helps, tier 1 smudge (you are slow, ghost is fast, if you make it slow too with better smudges, it's just going to sit next to you; tier 1 and hope it runs away while you're a sitting duck), tier 3 salt (so long as you don't forget that it will slow the ghost down), remember the ghost is mega fast on apoc so don't let it's speed fool you.

And honestly, knowing the layout of the map. Explore it on a custom difficulty that gives you lightning speed and passive ghosts (remember to turn off hiding places). The better you know the map, the better you'll be at doing it in the dark with just candles and a tier 3 headcam.

If the challenge is getting the objectives done, you could quit the match immediately if you get bad enough objectives. Especially now with the Chronicles update having objectives asking for unique photos/vids/sounds. I'd avoid those like the plague. Crucifix is hard to get as well. Escape ghost, cleanse, repel and to a lesser extent paramic sound are probably the easiest objectives.

Getting the ghost photo will almost always be a spray and pray. Unless it's a ghost event or a deo, you just have to smudge, snap a few photos, and smudge again as you try to get away or something.

Onryo has unique firelight interactions, yes, but any ghost can blow out a flame at any time. Onryos just can't hunt with a firelight near them (candles or even your lighter), and anecdotally blow out lights WAY more quickly/often. And they will try to hunt after the 3rd blowout.

Those are fairly decent. Lure it to the chapel. So many candles just waiting to be blown out. Or bring your own in and leave them in the hallway near the ghost. Put an EMF reader near where the ghost is hunting (doesn't have to be its room, just wherever it keeps walking to) and if you are lucky it'll interact at the end of its hunt and you'll have time to slow-walk to it and take a picture before the EMF goes away. Motion sensor, again just put it wherever the ghost is wandering a lot during the hunt.

Finding the bone on full-sized asylum is usually insane, but sure it's a possibility. Unless it's been patched out, the bone always spawns in the same exact spot near the entrance right now.

Yeah, if the ghost isn't near the entrance, you'll have to do the nerve-wracking part of exploring for it. Unless it's a rev (which is super slow if it doesn't detect you), all the other ghosts will be insanely fast and should automatically wander a fair distance from their ghost room, like down a hallway or something.

If you do apoc3 you get credit for apoc1-2 automatically. It's just an increasing difficulty in the custom settings. You can use whatever custom settings you want to get there, though to a certain extent some of them are necessary in order to get a high enough multiplier.

Unnecessary to gatekeep groups from the apoc 3 challenge/rewards in a game that is technically designed for groups (even if it does support solo play).

But the average difficulty of apoc3 has changed over time, and even at any given time the difficulty varies based on what ghost you get and where it is, etc. So with it already being highly variable, a group of 4 may have a harder time with bad RNG than a single player who gets good RNG. So I feel there is no need for apoc to be solo only.

The challenge is the hardest possible thing phasmophobia has to offer. Playing in multiplayer makes the game easier, so they won't let you do that in the "make the game as hard as possible" challenge lol

Like others have said, the 50% sprintless is a major contributor. Adding extra hands in the form of additional hunters makes it overall easier.

By all means, play as a group on Apoc3 for the XP (though it's hardly efficient), but that trophy should stay solo-only

Especially true when it comes to getting perfect games with limited deletes, sanity meds spread across more people, and salt getting wasted because some nub put it in the wrong room. xD

PS: I haven't done VR for Phasmo (don't have the steam VR and it wasn't on console when I originally did apoc3), but I got the 1 in what felt like a million ghost event for a phantom and somehow in the dark I could tell in the flash of the camera that the ghost disappeared when I took its picture.

Light smudges with one hand while you spray and pray with the other. The ghost photo is usually the hardest part of apoc3 (unless you can't figure out what the ghost is, obviously).

I can't evaluate on behalf of VR (haven't played it), but co-op is always going to be significantly easier on Apoc3, EVEN if there's a requirement for everyone to survive to get the trophy.

Having one person smudge while a second player takes the ghost photo is significantly easier than one player juggling the items. Not to mention additional ghost behaviors (such as Banshee targeting) that are easier to observe with additional hunters.

It's 800 points for the first trophy upgrade. I average 26-30 playing professional (I don't think difficulty matters, but not 100%) depending on how many of the totems spawn. I can't remember how many points the personal ID card cost, but I think it was maybe about 200-400?

Or practice on something harder than you can do, if you have the money to spend on buying after getting wrecked by the ghost. Oh, and always try the weekly for 5k. It's a PERFECT time to practice some harder difficulties and improve your skills, and the items provided are free.

Yeah, was just about to edit my comment to confirm that after some googling. It's apparently been that way ever since demon/banshee were reworked and the banshee stalking interfered with changing rooms after roams, etc. It was patched a few months ago to allow them to change room again.

What we weren’t sure on, could he have theoretically walked through the banshee while it was chasing me without being killed? He was too scared to test it. Weirdly, I find spirit to be the most sus. Totally anecdotal, but the number of times I've seen or experienced wild ghosts that you think are other ghosts and end up just being a spirit... (in 0 real evidence and based on soft behavior evidence, not hard behavior evidence)

so, a voice that sings/screams - a death scream? - would suit a Banshee more than we have now, though the old scream did that job fairly well

I was doing the weekly challenge hunt with a friend, we weren't getting any evidence, so I said "It's going to be the ghost with whatever are the evidences that we can't get" (as the challenge doesn't give you UV, camera and thermometer), we waited for when it finally hunted, we were ready to flea, I saw something near the ghost, I stopped, I was ready to die just to make sure of what I saw, then I see it again, freezing breath from the ghost, I run and hide, we escape and we find out it really was UV, ghost orb and freezing temp, it was indeed an Hantu!

I started the original discussion on the premise that the challenge itself didn't NEED it to be solo, especially in a game that is more designed for teamwork. I was wishing it could be a group activity.

Everyone else wanted to make it about the skill level of individual players, and they didn't want that opened to groups cause "I walked uphill in the snow". In some ways it's "easier" with a group and in other ways it's "harder" with a group, especially if there was a requirement for everyone to survive.

Realistically every single game is different from the previous one, no matter what happens, on what difficulty, on what map, with what ghost, etc. That's supposed to be the ultimate appeal of Phasmo, right? It's RNG every match helps keep it feeling fresh (unless you just get bored of the genre or get distracted with other games).

First thing I do is measure ghost speed, will instantly be able to identify if its a slow fast or twin ghost instantly after 1 hunt

if someone tries to tell you (ive had this so many times) you need 2 hunts to identify twins, they are WRONG

idk where or who started the urban legend but it is 1 hunt you need to determine what speed ghost it is

Tbh I need 2. Usually because I'm still not very good at identifying their slightly different speeds compared to the average speed. And I am likely to misidentify a sped up ghost that merely had LOS on me from far away as the fast twin.
