The actual motion of the Yurei ability looks the same, but it doesn't do the double-touch anymore. It can be with or without the rumble preamble, but it's never the big slam (any ghost can do that). Also, Yurei will always fully open or fully close a door when it casually touches it. So if a ghost touches a door and moves it only a little, you can cross off Yurei.

that reminds me of some other bug that happens on multiplayer when someone moves from the shade's room to a room that cannot be a ghost room (like a big hallway), the game doesn't update that the player is no longer in the same room.

In this case, it could be doing the same but with the outdoors boundary.

I would certainly report that to #bug-reports

not that your ghost needs to be a Shade. Just that it's not properly updating that a room change has happened

We turn on one light, breaker goes boom. Everytime. We drop a level 1 thermometer, it never budges. We take sanity pills at 30% sanity and go back in at 70% we hit 0% in one minute. This game literally has us frustrated and it isn't even just this event. Even in reg maps similar stuff happens. We can go in and never find the ghost room and never have it interact with ANYTHING and die 2 minutes after safe timer hits 0.

This game literally makes zero sense on how to even get good when literally all the tips we've gotten have done next to zilch.

We rarely play it but still try to understand it. Yet y'all say conflicting information that does not line up with our experience of the game. The supposed "heavy rng" aspect is more unfair compared to other games with heavy rng aspects. We'd love to learn the game but in it's current state it's not very enjoyable. A game that expects returning players should not have a average daily player count of 30, 000~ players even 5 years since its launch. 5 years ago this game had an average of 50,000-80,000 players daily. As of this year, that's dropped to 13,000-30,000 players daily. That's quite a fall off. In fact, looking at a chart this game has significantly lost player base between 2024 to 2025. Part of that problem, in my opinion, lies in how hard it is for new players to adjust to the game. It creates an unsavory first time experience leaving the player dissatisfied and not likely to return. Having a game be difficult off the rip even on the lowest difficulty due to heavy rng aspect is not a very savory game model. FPS games differ where it can be hard but it's expected because of the type of game. A game like this? It isn't really expected because the nature of the game is a detective game. There are a few dozen dective/puzzle games and not many are nearly as difficult for a first time player as this one. All in all, this game has a dying playerbase which indicates a very clear issue that devs clearly are not adressing which is only fueling issues with player retention.

i disagree. I think people burn out and wait for the major updates. I assume though I have no data, the major updates have high daily players for the first week. Also it gets easier as you play which makes the rewards so much higher. I also think there is a second market on this game which right now the devs. don't make money on but that is the amount of people streaming and watching. Frankly me and my duo couldn't find a single evidence on amateur when we first started so we uninstalled. But we decided to give it another fair shot some time later as we didn't want to admit we were just bad at the game and, we've been having lots of fun since XD

the devs have kinda separeted "updates" from new maps. Nowadays new maps are just added whenever they're ready and anything that actually changes the gameplay or adds new gameplay, or alters the way the game looks/runs is an update
