I agree, I enjoy the game more with friends than alone. Wish there was a fair way to do it like where a player would still have to do all the objectives themselves or something, but it was still a team effort. a hunt doesn't have to be from it's room. All ghost roam and can hunt from their spot.

Roaming = ghost walks out of its room = ghost walks out of crucifix range (if the crucifixes are in its room.)
If the ghost hunts while roaming, it can avoid the crucifixes that way.

If you don't want the ghost to leave its room and you're playing on a custom difficulty, you can turn the roaming frequency down to low. But the ghost will still roam occasionally. Just not very much.

(And it can still leave its room no problem while hunting. But it's more likely to start the hunt in the room, which means it's more likely to be blocked by crucifixes in the room.)

OK well, the Wiki does not mention if it can hunt or cannot huh outside of its ghost room. So if that's the case, what is the point of the crucifix?
To prevent huh, correct. You would place this in the ghost room. To prevent the hunt or less, it is a teleporting ghost and teleport. Straight to you you would have it with you to prevent the hunt. Too many inconsistencies in this game since the major update of Adding video invoice recordings. Anyway, I just wish it would make things a little bit more clearer if they're going to change The game mechanics unless I'm just missing something altogether. Anyway, appreciate you trying to explain things.👍

Video: Say you point the Cam in the ghost room and see ghost orbs. The camera will indicate it on screen. You hold down the use button and the camera will record and it will give icon indicating it was saved. You can also point the video at salt or a lit firelight and hold the recording button. Then when it happens it will catch it and do the icon again.

Sound: turn on the sound recorder. Then hold use to record. Depending on the tier they will have different indication on when it is picking up sound (tier 1 are lights, tier 2 is a bar graph, etc). Then when it gets it the player animation will click the recorder. Then you should have one in the book.

The trophy itself will be unlocked by the community. The foil and trophy upgrades are the things you'll want to grind. The strat I've been using, is forced music box 0evidence with some sanity, comes out to about x8. Go in force a hunt with the music box, try to ID the ghost and get totems and objectives where you can and die

Ghosts have always been able to hunt outside of their room, it depends where the ghost physically is when it attempts the hunt. You'll typically find it'll hunt more from it's favourite room when it roams less

I hope one of the devs will see this.

My name’s Kaya, I’m 21 and from the Netherlands. I’ve been a big fan of Phasmophobia for a while now — I really love how every map feels unique and atmospheric.

I had an idea for a new map that I think could be a fun (and creepy!) addition: a haunted grocery store. Nothing too big or too small — just an average-sized store with aisles, a back storage area, and maybe a cold room or freezer section for some extra chills.

It could have a few disturbing touches to really set the mood — like a shopping cart that slowly rolls on its own, leaving faint blood trails behind it, or flickering freezer lights that reveal brief glimpses of movement inside. Maybe there could even be eerie PA announcements or a wet floor sign that suddenly tips over. Little unsettling details like that would make the whole place feel alive (and haunted).

Thanks so much for taking the time to read this! I really appreciate all the work you put into the game — it’s honestly one of my favorites.

Crouching is a great way for the ghost to not see you if you have something between you and it.
