Well you're going to be really really fast you can run around with the parabolic to try to get an idea of where the ghost is coming from shut it off when you hear it and either go for those evidence in between hunts or just go by its hunt speed

Depends, voice recognition usually works if voice chat is working. So if you can't test with another player or friend you can go into a game with the spirit box, walk into the house and ask a few different questions look for the symbol to show it understood the valid question. Sometimes the box gives an auto response so keep trying
This will at least let you know it heard you.

You have a couple options. Try to find the ghost room from where it hunts from, it may take a couple hunts. When it hunts, do a big loop around a section of the school to lose it then go into the room to set up. Smudge it to buy yourself time to investigate.

There's a couple of ways to do it either try to get their evidence in between hunts because you are speedy or listen for the speed since it's normal ghost speed

Lets say the shade is tanglewood master bedroom, you are at the doorway, outside of the ghost room.
Shades is currently also at the doorway, but not in the same room as you, can start a hunt and spawnkills you

So I was playing a solo game on Edgefield and triggered a hunt with the voodoo doll. Ghost began the hunt in the kitchen area while I was upstairs with the voodoo doll, at the door of the voodoo doll bedroom waiting to incense the ghost to complete the objective… the lights at the top of the stairs flickered a little bit, but the ghost did not come upstairs (did not hear footsteps or get a heartbeat) and I died. How is this possible?
