Not exactly the ghost that throws a lot is the poltergeist. And a ghost could hunt from anywhere currently is as it's roaming same room, different room, a little bit away doesn't matter.

Create a poltergeist line for the hunt put down two items to go like two steps back put down another two.

You'd have to look up a list of all the recognized phrases but there's a decent amount anytime the game hears you there is a small very small increase to the possibility of ghost activity.
Except when dealing with the yokai for its heightened hunt threshold it just needs to hear something coming in the microphone.

put firelight and crucifix in ghost room, light firelight and wait for extinguish, repeat 3 times, upon 3rd extinguish if he bites crucifix onryo

Remember that Onryos also use flames as crucis, so you may be blocking it from hunting. It's much (MUCH) easier to just keep a single candle lit on top of a cruci. If it blows out the candle twice in under 20s, it's Onryo. If it burns the cruci while the candle is lit, it's not.

Right on. Onryo's ability mechanics are definitely one of the most complex. Once it clicks it's a very satifying ghost to ID though

Here's the tip: emf reading lasts for 20s, if you hear something being thrown, use the emf and make your way there asap before the reading times out

Usually ghosts rough location (not exact) is there

keep breaker and lights on as much as possible in the rooms you are in. periodically check sanity in truck. MOST ghosts cannot hunt you until you go under 50 sanity

In Apocalypse the parabolic is extremely useful

Plus I mean you might get the objective to hear the Ghost with the parabolic

Seriously walk up to the door throw down three smudge sticks come back throw down the crucifixes and last smudge come back with parabolic maybe lantern if need light.
Use the crucifixes under your feet to make sure that you're not getting spawned on top of by a couple of the evil stalkers.
Get the parabolic microphone out if the ghost starts to hunt and you don't hear it listen for footstep speed.
If you can guess the ghost from that and you got good objectives congratulations all you need is a photo and you have four smudges to do it.

T3 salt can be placed like land mines to slow ghost.
And no need to loop the ghost the whole time just last 5 seconds of hunt if ya can.

How is prison classified as a medium map. That thing is huge. Like, it's on-par with the high school and sunny meadows in terms of difficulty.

Well, I count it as a big map even if the devs call it a medium, because it's technically bigger than most the other maps, sunny meadows included.

Only difference is every room in sunny meadows counts as a room in the technical side of things

Imagine each hallways was separated, and the stairs, and all of those doors locked during the hunts. You'd be screwed, period, because you'd lack anywhere to hide or loop. The ghost would just come right at you if it enters your hallway

Steam sync can mess with quite literally anything in a game, it all depends on the game and what saves to the steam cloud

crossover on mac just creates a small windows 10 virtual machine and runs the game through steam

Morning everyone

First game of the day was a blood moon on tanglewood. It was a raiju

On nightmare, only had ghost orb and it started hunting within 3 minutes, apparently it switched ghost rooms to the garage when it started to hunt, I knew it was either it or a hantu when it was picking up speed when I was hiding.

Realized I was hiding in a warm room and knew immediately it was a raiju because it passed by the living room where my equipment was and it floored it

Got an EMF 5 when it switched to the basement after that and that confirmed it

Perfect investigation in under 10 minutes

I know mares can instantly turn off the lightswitch when you turn it on but is there a chance for another ghost to just happen to turn it off right as you turn it on because I just had an obake that made me think it was a mimic that was mimicking a mare for like 10 minutes until I was able to see it during multiple hunts

It immediately turned off the light switch when I turned it on but it also changed models so I thought it was a mimic it was a struggle

no they use hacks and choose for the ghost to be a deo OR they go in and out if the hacks dont tell them its a deo.. most apoc 3 achievers cheated (from what i heard from multiple)
