Isn't thermometer a bit too good at finding the ghost room? I feel other equipments are overshadowed by it and it makes runs more repetitive than they need to be. it also makes loadout diversity in a team in the early minutes not as good as it should. It'd be nice to have some ghosts tiers being more likely to trigger some equipments rather than others in the early hunt. emf, door slamming/mugs flying, thermometer...

Finding the ghost room is only part of the challenge. And if you're on a large map, you're better off using say, a parabolic

And yeah, dots can definitely take a long time to show up, though so can other evidences if you get unlucky

The only time sanity is per person is when you're dealing with the banshee/"mimic banshee" and the target is the only thing the banshee cares about for sanity.

Thermo is definitely a nice reliable, and pretty accurate way of finding the room, but not always the fastest. I like using the camera upon first entering some locations / beelining to the breaker to see if I spot orbs. Especially on camp wood wind. If I hear any interaction I take out emf and search that general direction, and then Thermo if there is nothing else to go on.
Large / Prison / Maplewood, Paramic is pretty nice too for narrowing down a general area

No all ghosts wander. Even goryo just less. Any ghost could walk into another room without changing rooms. All evidence except orbs will be available in any room the ghost is wandering too. "Orbs will only move if the ghost changed rooms"

It's a common misconception a lot of people have because the ghost is invisible you can't tell what it's doing it started its hunt outside of the range.

Yeah, one of the things I realized about crucifixes is that you don't necessarily need them covering where you think the ghost WILL hunt, but rather put them where you want to make sure it doesn't hunt. Like if you are going to run to a hiding spot behind you, then who cares if the ghost spawns in a corner far to your front.

Its not "screwed" its just how its always worked. Ghost is always physically there. Invisible and walking around.
You can use motion sensors to keep track of where ghost is.
And i prefer to keep my cruci in a spot where i really dont want a ghost to start a hunt. So im not trapped.

people will talk bad about incense T3 because it stuns the ghost and if you’re in a corner, it’s just going to wake up and come at you

if you want cursed hunts to study hunt behaviour than move the T3 crucifix away because it prevents cursed hunts

It comes down to personal preference but I prefer the T2 headgear(flashlight) over T3 because T3 makes my vision feel funny

Some professionals will complain about T3 salt and T2 incense slowing the ghost during hunts making their speed harder to decern

If not the rest of the T3 stuff is nice (imo)

Agreed with the above. I don't think there's ever any reason to use lower tier of other items. I think some people (myself included) get annoyed by the T3 dots and how bright it makes the room and it was very unwieldy for finding bunnies in the event but that's a pretty niche complaint

So a demon cannot hunt for 60 seconds after a smudge other ghosts cannot hunt for one minute 30 seconds after a smudge a spirit cannot hunt for 3 minutes after a smudge.
however any and all of them can choose to not hunt after the minimum timer is up.

Sounds like you've got a very wandering ghost you may want to try turning on a light or holding onto a candle to see if the ghost is hanging on you.

Worst case scenario if you're not trying to get hunted you keep your sanity up and it does something somewhere that you'll hear eventually

thayes get slower and do less when your near them more, they start out super duper fast but the longer your in the room with the ghost, the slower and less active they get (at youngest they hunt at 75% i think, and oldest, which is 10 older, they hunt at 25% sanity)

jinns will never turn off the breaker, and if the breaker is on they will speed up torwards you if they are some odd distance away, and slow down to normal speed when they get closer

ok so say im playing on camp woodwind hiding in a tent during hunts, and the ghost room isnt near that, does the thaye act like a regular ghost? and if the gen is broken in order to raise multiplier, are jinns like normal ghosts too?

depends, if in total in the round you were in the same room as the ghost for lets say like 6 minutes, the thayes will be slower, if not then they will be super fast

I just got evented on right when I was taking a photo of the bone, so I backed up to try to get the ghost photo, and then had to delete the empty photo, during which time I forgot to actually pick up the bone. ghosts cant hear us talking. we are using discord. we go in empty handed and head lights off. hide and wait for a hunt for crucifix or sanity adverage. ive been playing since day one of this game. this is clearly a bug

set up a custom, set your starting sanity to 75, pill restoration to 5% with high activity and no sanity drain. go in and pop 1 pill and wish for activity on paw. reset in 45 seconds if it doesn't hunt and your golden. shouldn't take too long. only a demon can hunt at 80% with its ability so if anything does hunt (unless u get ghost evented) it should be a demon.

yeah, same as what other people have said, a thaye ages the longer you are in the room, and ages faster when using a ouiji board, so the older the thaye gets, the slower it is during hunts :) and a jinn is faster with the breaker on, and slower when the breaker is off during hunts! also, the jinn never/very rarely turns off the breaker.
