Hello people, a fast question.
I was playing Solo on Tanglewood, 200% sanity drain, breaker on at start. During the game i got no ghost event and just some interactions (since I as on 0 evidence, I stayed a bit in the room to test the Shade), but i noticed that my sanity was lowering the more I stayed in the ghost room - consider that i stayed ALWAYS in the light, did not get the breaker off even once. Initially I though Yurei, I used the carillion to force a hunt and for the ghost photo and... Deogen (It ended well, perfect investigation 3600$ payout, wow nice).
So, am I missing something? I thought what sanity lowered only with darkness, ghost events, abilities (Yurei/Jinn/Phantom etc) and Cursed possesion.

My recommendation is to time the hunts and call the ghost to you at about 35 seconds if you're on medium hunt duration or 45 seconds if you're on long hunt duration.

But if you're at 0% sanity and there's nobody around they're about as aggressive as any other 0% sanity ghost.

I wish the phasmo devs would implement a cursed possession blacklist in to the custom difficulty so that 2 specific cursed items never get added to the run. ... I really hate both the Music Box and Monkey Paw, and will now just leave the run if I see either of them.

It's actually really useful to get a perfect game as well. You can get a ghost photo, and all the salt pics you could need as well as escaping the ghost/cleanse area near it/smudge while being chased.

Only cursed items I'm less fond of would probably be voodoo doll or music box unless I'm just fucking with my friends but even then they're not useless.

The safety wish alone is god tier, you can find the exact ghost room with the trap wish at no cost other than a heavily-delayed cursed hunt that you can entirely opt out, wishing to leave is a big time saver, if weather is a problem you can change it

The only downside to the paw IMO is that draining sanity with it is pretty terrible.

You get one -25% drain with the weather wish, and wishing for sanity does the full job but changes the ghost room

I use thermometer. T1 thermometer is hard though, give it a sec to fluctuate and then start going up or down in each room. if you see it go down a bit and then go back up, that's not the right room.

My method has been to run in with the night vision cam for ghost orbs and then searching for prints

Just keep in mind too, if you find orbs, that will always be the fav room.

a lot of people use vid camera to find ghost orbs too, but if you have a ghost that doesn't have orbs, it won't help.

you can, but important to note it'll give a SHARP drop in sanity if you ask it "where are you" - and you'll also get where the ghost currently is, which may not be the ghost room if the ghost is roaming

Ouji board and cursed items in general are a new player trap. Makes it so much easier for ghosts to hunt.

Since i have t3 parabolic microphone, I just use that and stand in the kitchen (tanglewood), anything the ghost touches shows up on the "radar" screen of the t3 parabolic and i can identify exactly what room it's in just from the things it touches. can be done without the parabolic, just need to listen around for when the ghost touches or throws something, and stay in that area to confirm that the ghost isn't just roaming outside the ghost room

Yes, it only cares about average team sanity in total. People being outside or inside is irrelevant.

This is also true of Banshee, who only cares about the target's sanity, but will still hunt if they're below 50% - even if they're outside.

Btw so some general advice to start practicing early on:

• Leave all evidence you bring into the map in the ghost room when you find it.
• If playing with others, you can grab the same equipment as others but its more efficient to grab different evidence items for less trips.
• If a hunt starts, stay quiet, turn off all electronics and find a hiding spot (i.e. lockers, closets)
• Don't hide in the same room as the ghost room
