you can have a definitive tell by using logical contrapositives 💀🙏 if we have the statement "if the ghost is a mare, then it does not have any definitive tells" we can transform it into "if the ghost has a definitive tell, then it is not a mare" yureis will not wander from a room if smudged, banshees and goryos will never change favorite rooms OR do a far wander (further thanlike 5 meters), and demons have an increased crucifix radius and lowered hunting cooldown, since every other ghost has a definitive tell, the mares tell is that it does not have a definitive tell and can ALWAYS be figured out through process of elimination 💀🙏

You always should bring EMF and thermo in.

When you hear something get thrown before you find ghost room, use EMF. Otherwise use your thermo.

It's slow, but all you have to do is watch very carefully. Go into a room and wait a second If the bar is fluctuating up and down very slowly it probably isn't ghost room. But if it is consistently going down that might be it.

Always be on the look out for ghost activity, or if you see your own breath in the room.

yeah, so the ghost will be in a room that's colder than the rest of the house, and it will be touching and throwing things in that room, so listen for the ghost activity (throwing, touching, flipping light switches, turning on TVs, etc) and you'll find your ghost room or just look for the colder room. this is where you put all your evidence gathering equipment. some evidence follows the ghost around, like freezing temps, since it's the ghost itself that makes the room cold. ghost orbs will always be in the ghost room. spirit box, you must be near the ghost to get, not the ghost room. UV, the ghost has to touch something, or step through salt for it to leave UV evidence. EMF 5, the ghost has to touch something, and there's a 25% chance that the EMF reading will get bumped to EMF5 instead of the true EMF reading for that interaction. Ghost writing, the ghost has to be within range of the book to choose to interact with it and write in it. DOTS has to be near the ghost, the ghost will decide to interact with the DOTS and you'll see a green dotted ghost start walking toward you/randomly idk.

We picked Oni because;

• we believed a cold breathe was freezing temperatures, or we had to take the chance it was. We were not confident though and my friend was the only one with sanity left but he died in the room where i hid before with 0 sanity, and hunts every 20 seconds.

• we never got the emf 5 reading however (same applies with the other ghost type the game answered at the end of the mission)

• Onis love to scare victims and since my sanity dropped from 60 to 0 in a matter of 5 minutes (idk how realistic that is, or if it was dropping fast) we believed it was this type based off desc. Altho we didn’t see physical form (explain what physical form would be- my friend claimed he saw Smokey figure only). Cameras were knocked over all the time.

• also the ghost disappeared less during huntings which is a Oni weakness

it's a complex setup actually, to reduce the odds the ghost randomly chooses to do something other than using its ability. if the breaker's broken, that's one less thing it can do when it's not hunting. if event frequency is low, that's also one less thing it can do, activity level set to high makes it more likely to use ability. 75% sanity with 5% sanity gain from pills, use a t2 pill to get 5 sanity increase to 80% total then go out use monkey paw to wish for activity. this paired with high activity level makes the ghost way more likely to use its ability, and if it's a demon, it'll just start a hunt. also set roaming to lowest setting and room changing to none

You know what I do with room boundaries? Load up a friendly ghost, 150% player speed/infinite sprint, go in there with sound sensors and set them down. Run back to the truck (that's why you give yourself speed) and see what room it says. Then go, move it slightly, check again. Obviously it's quicker with a friend, but it really helped me learn where a room ends

Llille i tested that 50% mechanic a lot cause of some weird jank with tents in cww. i was wondering how people were dying in the tiny tents in cww and that was exactly how. Theh would wait in the small tent, smudge. Then close the tent. So ghost next hunt would search last known location which happened to be inside the small tent. But otherwise that mechanic just has the ghost go to the exact spot of where it saw you last.

It was just jank cause we were told small tents, closets, and lockers were the only hiding spots ghosts cannot roam into without opening them up first. But then small tents had this little issue with that 50% roam to last known location thing. Which i cannot replicate for closets or lockers. Itll always stop at the door for those ones.
But then again i had a ghost several times event into the small tent, then hunt from inside which again, i cannot replicate for closets or lockers
