Yeah that's not exactly how it works they got to lose sight for more than a second while you're queuing up and everything once they hit the spot where they last saw them and don't see them again then it will lock on to you. It's like the deo thing, technically it locks on to the closest person but then has a random chance to lock on to the next closest person and if somebody like ran ahead while you're looping it could take that chance and lock on to them and then run through you and kill you

Apoc 3 for example the hardest difficulty in the game, you only look at the ghost for as long as it takes to get a picture and thats it, other than the occasional oni or phantom you need to guess, otherwise you use audio, enhancing audio would make it so parabolic was not necessary, and as long as you memorize the route you could essentially play it blind
