I accidentally held a lit smudge and thankfully didnt die there.

Also VERY unlucky "start hunt" spawn. The ever so slightly out of range corner in the living room. I had 2 crucifixes near there.

Tier 3 is nice because you'll know if it's freezing if the temp ever drops below 1C

It will never drop below 1.1C (IN MY EXPERIENCE) unless it's a Freezing ghost

I think temp and ghost orbs are the only 2 things that I am like completely confident when I see them that the ghost is there. The interactions only tell you that you’re close. And iirc spirit box only relies on how close you are to the ghost. Not the ghost room itself

at 160 seconds, smudge the ghost again. In 20 seconds only the spirit can hunt then. let's you really confirm it

hunt prevention timers do not restart while one is actively in effect. So a normal ghost is outside of that timer point while spirit is still under the smudge effect.
20 seconds left for spirit before it can hunt. Normal ghosts will have the 90sec timer started again or 60seconds for demon

have one person stand in the ghost room with the ghost, have one person stand outside the door in the next room over, that way if it does step out, the room is covered and it can't do shit. then make sure to have motion sensors so you know when it is moving and can rotate rooms as necessary to prevent it from doing anything.

A good tip for doing apocalypse 3 is use the parabolic at the door so glitch the door so you are on the outside and listen to the speeds and where it comes from
