It’s possible the footprints went away, they don’t last as long as handprints or fingerprints. It’s also possible the ghost didn’t actually “move” after stepping in the salt, more common on t3 but depending on location and stuff it can still happen.

It’s also possible if you’re playing custom someone changed the chance for/how long UV lasts

I'm used to matches taking around 15 min - but I usually get photos, at least some objectives, and hunt for the bone. at your stage, you might not've even unlocked the photo camera yet for that ^^;
it just depends upon what you're after, and a lot of us aren't speedrunning to be able to tell you. my early games had a lot of trouble seeing the ghost writing books were written in though.

That's not a ghost trait, but dependent on the tier of your smudge. T3 stops ghosts in place

#1 - have salt force the ghost to move even just a step if stepped in (reasoning: salt is really only good for photos right now because of inconsistency with footprints - and that meta's going away with Chronicle)
#2 - ghost photo should not be an objective, it should be a +$25-50 bonus like perfects, and the ghost photo should also get its own slot that doesn't need to be filled for a perfect (reasoning: ghost photo is by far one of the most swingy objectives - you can get it easily, or you can spend an eternity waiting because you got a bad cursed item)
#3 - have t3 incense reset LOS speed buildup (reasoning - gives more use to t3 incense, since t3 should be the best 9 times out of 10)

When the door shuts close without an event nor a hunt, it is most likely a Yurei. The Mimic can also do that but it will leave the UV print on the door which the Yurei doesn't have UV evidence.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the audio settings of phasmo, specifically which speaker mode is the best (mono, stereo, etc) I normally play on stereo but feel like there is a better option.

speaker mode should always be stereo to know which direction it's coming from. Mono will make every direction sound the same without knowing left or right

Yeah I wouldn't even go near mono. I meant moreso between stereo, surround, quad, and 5.1/7.1

I dont think my headphones support 7.1, or even 5.1 but im thinking that there is still a better option than stereo. I just swapped to quad for the first time after 1k hours and it immediately sounds better. I have been having an issue with knowing if a sound is infront or behind me, left and right seems fine though.

I gotcha, i just dont know whats causing this issue where i cant tell sound from infront or behind me. I think most headphones support more than just stereo because these new fancy headsets have 5.1 or 7.1 spatial awareness built in. but i think average headsets support atleast quad sound (4.1). Im really not sure i just am assuming since the upgrade from stereo to quad is literally front and back audio awareness, i feel like it should help. Again, sadly there is not much about this online for phas specifically to learn from 😦

You know what I do on new maps? Go to custom settings, turn player speed up to max with infinite sprint, turn ghost to friendly, start with breaker on, and I just walk through the map to get the layout and look at all of the decorations and take it all in. Then after that, I’m usually good to play real matches on it.
