Play the game, learn the ghosts by their behavior characteristics. You can use guides on youtube, the phasmo cheat sheet, watch others, etc. But you should really know how the ghosts work generally before going into things like Apoc.

As long as you've completed objectives, gotten photos, guessed the correct ghost, etc you should get some money/xp afterwards. If you die, you get 50% less though.

What difficulty are you playing on? If you're playing on something like Friendly Ghost, there's a 0.0x on it which means you get nothing.

Hunt tests is pretty obvious between mimics and hantus.
Making sure youre with ghost in same room and close to it with the room lights off for spirit box as well.

so if you get 4 evidences that means that its a mimic

Normal isn't really a mode, there's Amateur, Intermediate, Professional, Nightmare, Insanity, and then the customs. If you're running custom, check what the multiplier is for it. Also make sure you're exiting the game via the Truck and not "Leave Game"

Its important to note, that its not ghost room. Just whatever room youre in with ghost at the time. You can get spirit box during a hunt if you wanted.

So I take it listening for footsteps is the best way to tell speed. Im pretty sure it was that room because it was negative in it. Lights were all off. Its weird, mimics never respond to me but other ghosts do. I take it moving from the ghost area on average lowers their speed

During a hunt, if you burn a smudge/incense near it, it willl disorient the ghost for a few seconds so you can get away but it won't entirely stop the hunt.

I tested for Onryo. I put 3 firelights in the ghost room, with a crucifix, two lights went out exactly the same time, only 5 seconds later, the 3rd one went out, then another 5-6 seconds, crucifix went up.
In my mind, already confirmed an Onryo because every ghost has to wait 20 seconds between blowing them out?
It was an Oni.

I usually don’t determine if it’s a wraith via salt I only rule it out that way. I determine wraith by making it hunt and forcing it walk through the salt during the hunt to see if it’s a wraith
