Raiju -> Speeds up drastically when it approaches active electronics
Thaye -> Will likely be very fast on the first hunt, more importantly, no LOS speedup
Revenant -> Insanely fast when it detects you, slow as a snail when it doesn't know where you are
Deogen -> Speeds up as it approaches, then slows down to become the slowest ghost in the game when it's near you
Hantu -> When the breaker is off, it will give off cold/foggy breath. Additionally, no LOS speedup
Moroi -> Speed varies based on sanity- this will be a fast ghost on 0ev. Additionally, the Moroi's smudge blindness lasts for 7.5s instead of the standard 5s
Jinn -> If the breaker is on, it will speed up until it gets within 3m of you, at which point its speed will drop somewhat
Phantom -> Pay attention to the blinking; the phantom is basically invisible, only blinking "in" for short periods of time while remaining blinked "out" for long periods of time
Oni -> Opposite of the Phantom
Obake -> Will periodically change ghost model for one blink (shapeshifting)
Wraith -> Won't trample a salt pile even if it walks right over it (can't step in salt)
The Twins -> Will be slightly slower or slightly faster than normal; this is hard to spot in the first hunt but it becomes very obvious if they switch speeds in subsequent hunts
Poltergeist -> Will LAUNCH shit across the room/map, and will always throw something every half-second if it can
Myling -> Quiet, footsteps can only be heard from about the range at which it interferes with electronics
Yokai -> Is basically deaf, it can't detect voices or electronics unless you're basically right up in its face (2.5m away)

Sounds like you probably need to get familiar with basic game mechanics first. Ghost hunt sounds like crying or whispering have nothing to do with any ghost. All ghosts can interact with objects during a hunt. Poltys tend to throw more but that's about it.

Not necessarily. I prefer T2 Headlamp so I have some light versus using an inventory slot for a flashlight. T1 headcam is kinda meh unless you're in multiplayer. Some people like the T3 Night Vision Goggles to see in the dark a bit better.

learn common traits of ghosts, like wraith not walking through salt. perfect games are preferred but its more important you DONT die as often as possible. so the sooner you can ID the ghost the quicker you can get in and out.

Raiju -> Speeds up drastically when it approaches active electronics
Thaye -> Will likely be very fast on the first hunt, more importantly, no LOS speedup. Slows down as it ages so it will also get progressively slower as the game continues
Revenant -> Insanely fast when it detects you, slow as a snail when it isn't detecting any players
Deogen -> Speeds up as it approaches, then slows down to become the slowest ghost in the game when it's near you. Always knows where you are, so it can't be hidden from
Hantu -> When the breaker is off, it will give off cold/foggy breath. Faster in colder temps, slower in warmer ones. Additionally, no LOS speedup.
Moroi -> Speed varies based on sanity- this will be a fast ghost on 0ev. Additionally, the Moroi's smudge blindness lasts for 7.5s instead of the standard 5s
Jinn -> If the breaker is on, it will speed up until it gets within 3m of you, at which point its speed will drop somewhat
Phantom -> Pay attention to the blinking; the phantom is basically invisible, only blinking "in" for short periods of time while remaining blinked "out" for long periods of time
Oni -> Opposite of the Phantom, is visible for longer and invisible for less time
Obake -> Will periodically change ghost model for one blink (shapeshifting)
Wraith -> Won't trample a salt pile even if it walks right over it (can't step in salt)
The Twins -> Will be slightly slower or slightly faster than normal; this is hard to spot in the first hunt but it becomes very obvious if they switch speeds in subsequent hunts
Poltergeist -> Will LAUNCH shit across the room/map, and will always throw something every half-second if it can
Myling -> Quiet, footsteps can only be heard from about the range at which it interferes with electronics
Yokai -> Is basically deaf, it can't detect voices or electronics unless you're basically right up in its face (2.5m away)

I’m doing a nightmare run I have ghost orbs and dots. I checked the microphone twice didn’t hear a scream so no banshee. It wasn’t fast on the first hunt so no thaye and I had my flash light outside on to see if the raiju would be fasted and it stayed the same. I think it’s either yokai or yurei but I didn’t hear any doors shut. How can I test it ? Do I open every door to see if it will shut them

Exactly, we had all the evidence for one ghost. Emf 5 being one of them and we came out and it said mimic.

really anything that increases activity, but smudge is the most reliable (that doesn't involve a cursed object). YOu could also try saying recognized phrases in the ghost room. That could help, but you're really just hoping for good RNG
